Re: Drag X Drive Switch 2 eShop Price Revealed

Yalloo

I participated in a local multiplayer mode at the Switch 2 experience ... so that must be included in the game.

Mouse controls felt extremely satisfying in MP4, but in this one there was an input lag ... maybe just requires some time to get used to but it was obviously noticeable unfortunately.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (21st June)

Age of Calamity: doing the vicious monsters and side quests level 81+ in Apocalyptic difficulty.
I've skipped the Fort Hateno mission for now, I remember just how tight it was already in Very Hard. I think this will be my final challenge.

Mario Kart World: going for 3 stars in 150cc. Love the music, but somehow not a fan that they "re-assigned" old tunes to tracks, I thought they were playing randomly across the circuits.
Still having a lot of fun with the game.

Tetris Effect Connected: participating in the weekly ritual + full moon as usual.

Re: PS5 Hit 'Stellar Blade' Is Reportedly In Consideration For The Switch 2

Yalloo

@AstroTheGamosian Thanks for the detailed impressions. Too bad there's not more to the story or characters, but a nice hack'n'slash gameplay can make for a nice game, even more so if the soundtrack is that good.
I will keep an eye out for it, in case it comes to Switch 2. In the meantime I've got many other games to play.
The way you referenced Samus in Other M cracked me up btw!

Re: Third-Party Launch Games On Switch 2 Reportedly Sold "Very Low Numbers"

Yalloo

@TrueBlueYoshi Sure, that would be one thing. Another thing would be larger (affordable) game cards. I buy the "main" games I play physically. I'm fine with having one SD card in the system, but not multiple. If I get a Switch 2 upgrade or collector edition down the line, that will be 2 SD cards, but that's it. Archiving and re-downloading games is not something I want to bother with. I'm OK with downloading some of my games, but most of them I need physically.

@AstroTheGamosian @Ramen756 Thanks for your inputs! ๐Ÿงก๐ŸŽฎ

I loved many things in Nier Automata, but the gameplay was a bit too RPG for my taste.
I guess I'll have to watch a video or two before I buy the physical when and if it comes. Better I adjust my expectations ... Bayonetta is one of the best games I've ever played, so maybe that's setting the bar a bit too high to start with ๐Ÿ˜…

Re: Mario's Voice Actor Says It's "Unbelievable" To Hear His Voice In Mario Kart World

Yalloo

@N00BiSH Appreciate your comments here, and passion tbh. I hadn't noticed anything with Wonder, but there are a couple of sentences in World where I thought "hum ... couldn't you re-do this line?!"

I usually don't care for voice acting, even in Bayonetta the change was obvious but it didn't bother me. Here I just tick every time.

We'll get used to it I guess, there's no way around it.

Oh, and regarding the article, good for him, it must be wild to hear yourself voice a game you've been playing since childhood. That makes him sound a bit naive though saying something blunt like that.

Re: Nintendo Survey Asks Switch 2 Users About Their Experience So Far

Yalloo

@JohnnyMind Ah, ok. So the retailer's supplier sold pre-orders that they didn't have guaranteed. Too bad. And of course they can get you the bundle but not the console itself ...
Having Mario Kart digitally is something I needed despite usually getting my games physically, as it's a game I play in between others and I enjoy coming back to it a lot, so it's handy not having to switch cards all the time.
But anyways, I'm sure you will enjoy both your Switch 2 and MK World even more when you'll finally get them, due to the longer wait. I love my Switch 2 and MK World is super fun. I think you also never got the OLED, so it will be an even bigger leap for you.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (7th June)

Playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, doing the side quests level 61+ in Apocalyptic mode. It's very challenging to say the least.

Participating in the weekend ritual + full moon @ Tetris Effect Connected.

Discovering the new Mario Kart World. So far I really enjoy it. Just the fading out and switch of music tracks during races feels really off so far, need to get used to that.

Re: Review: Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition (Switch 2) - A Superb Port Of An Incredible RPG

Yalloo

This is my first physical game on Switch 2, not going to start it anytime soon, but really glad it's so good.
Though I find that asking people what they think of the game while it's been out for one day is a bit ... questionable, don't you think?

Edit March 2025: so I've voted 8, had a lovely 150h with this game. Performance is not the best, crashed dozen of times and plenty of lags/slow downs, but it certainly was a lot of fun even despite that. The endings were all a bit sad and disappointing, but I guess I really didn't want it to end. I particularly enjoyed the stealth aspects, and the sheer amount of missions which all go much deeper than you'd expect, voice acting is amazing, I think I'm in love with V XD.

Re: Video: Diddy Kong, Tunes & Vines - Here's Everything We Want From Donkey Kong Bananza

Yalloo

I played Bananza during the Switch 2 Experience and it was for me a big disappointment. Graphics are good and detailed but I found the color choice to be odd and quite ugly overall. The gameplay itself was also pretty boring, you just break rocks. On top of that, since there are rocks everywhere, you never know where you are anymore and I got a feeling that I was missing out since there's always more rocks to break all over the place.

Don't take my word for it, and hopefully there is more to this game than what I've witnessed ... but I'm left with a negative impression and I have no interests in it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (24th May)

Yalloo

@tgt Same experience with me. I thought those were useless until far into the game I decided to check it online and went looking for some I missed that would have made a big difference!

I don't think it's so difficult when you know what's going on. But it was the developer's point to make everything so unclear, based on their childhood experience of not understanding the English (or Japanese) language... so I guess it's meant to be this hard in a way!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (24th May)

Yalloo

I'm working this weekend, so less time for gaming:

  • Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity: going through the story in Apocalyptic mode, currently at chapter 5.
  • Tetris Effect Connected: I'll participate in the weekend ritual + full moon as usual.

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Looks Awesome In Nintendo's Latest Switch 2 Deep Dive

Yalloo

@GinMiguel That could be something. But then he would only be playable in certain missions .. not like a character throughout all/most of the game. Let's see what they come up with ...

@Misima Playing in higher difficulties forces you to develop new strategies. There's still a lot of button mashing and the same animations come back for sure, but it keeps missions feeling fresh since you need to think of different approaches.

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Looks Awesome In Nintendo's Latest Switch 2 Deep Dive

Playing again through AoC at the moment, and saying that I'm looking forward to the new Hyrule Warriors game on Switch 2 is an understatement. I'm very curious how they will bring Link into this story, I cannot imagine him not being one of the warriors in the game though.

Nice little video, slowly building up hype for the game. Looks great, and love to see more stories from this beautiful world of BotW/TotK.
