Re: Mario's Voice Actor Says It's "Unbelievable" To Hear His Voice In Mario Kart World

Yalloo

@N00BiSH Appreciate your comments here, and passion tbh. I hadn't noticed anything with Wonder, but there are a couple of sentences in World where I thought "hum ... couldn't you re-do this line?!"

I usually don't care for voice acting, even in Bayonetta the change was obvious but it didn't bother me. Here I just tick every time.

We'll get used to it I guess, there's no way around it.

Oh, and regarding the article, good for him, it must be wild to hear yourself voice a game you've been playing since childhood. That makes him sound a bit naive though saying something blunt like that.

Re: Nintendo Survey Asks Switch 2 Users About Their Experience So Far

Yalloo

@JohnnyMind Ah, ok. So the retailer's supplier sold pre-orders that they didn't have guaranteed. Too bad. And of course they can get you the bundle but not the console itself ...
Having Mario Kart digitally is something I needed despite usually getting my games physically, as it's a game I play in between others and I enjoy coming back to it a lot, so it's handy not having to switch cards all the time.
But anyways, I'm sure you will enjoy both your Switch 2 and MK World even more when you'll finally get them, due to the longer wait. I love my Switch 2 and MK World is super fun. I think you also never got the OLED, so it will be an even bigger leap for you.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (7th June)

Yalloo

Playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, doing the side quests level 61+ in Apocalyptic mode. It's very challenging to say the least.

Participating in the weekend ritual + full moon @ Tetris Effect Connected.

Discovering the new Mario Kart World. So far I really enjoy it. Just the fading out and switch of music tracks during races feels really off so far, need to get used to that.

Re: Video: Diddy Kong, Tunes & Vines - Here's Everything We Want From Donkey Kong Bananza

Yalloo

I played Bananza during the Switch 2 Experience and it was for me a big disappointment. Graphics are good and detailed but I found the color choice to be odd and quite ugly overall. The gameplay itself was also pretty boring, you just break rocks. On top of that, since there are rocks everywhere, you never know where you are anymore and I got a feeling that I was missing out since there's always more rocks to break all over the place.

Don't take my word for it, and hopefully there is more to this game than what I've witnessed ... but I'm left with a negative impression and I have no interests in it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (24th May)

Yalloo

@tgt Same experience with me. I thought those were useless until far into the game I decided to check it online and went looking for some I missed that would have made a big difference!

I don't think it's so difficult when you know what's going on. But it was the developer's point to make everything so unclear, based on their childhood experience of not understanding the English (or Japanese) language... so I guess it's meant to be this hard in a way!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (24th May)

Yalloo

I'm working this weekend, so less time for gaming:

  • Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity: going through the story in Apocalyptic mode, currently at chapter 5.
  • Tetris Effect Connected: I'll participate in the weekend ritual + full moon as usual.

Happy gaming!! โœŒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿงก๐ŸŽฎ

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Looks Awesome In Nintendo's Latest Switch 2 Deep Dive

Yalloo

@GinMiguel That could be something. But then he would only be playable in certain missions .. not like a character throughout all/most of the game. Let's see what they come up with ...

@Misima Playing in higher difficulties forces you to develop new strategies. There's still a lot of button mashing and the same animations come back for sure, but it keeps missions feeling fresh since you need to think of different approaches.

Playing again through AoC at the moment, and saying that I'm looking forward to the new Hyrule Warriors game on Switch 2 is an understatement. I'm very curious how they will bring Link into this story, I cannot imagine him not being one of the warriors in the game though.

Nice little video, slowly building up hype for the game. Looks great, and love to see more stories from this beautiful world of BotW/TotK.

Re: Zelda Fans Are Concerned About The Free Switch 2 Updates, But Don't Worry

Yalloo

I'm looking forward to Switch 2 to actually play new games. I would expect regular Switch games to perform better too, but Nintendo has so far never mentioned that, so I wouldn't bet on it. Also like mentioned above, one of my concerns would be input lag indeed, since the games will be "partly emulated", this has been explicitly stated by the big N.

So we can speculate ... but we'll know for sure in less than 3 weeks. And in the worst case scenario, games will just play like they always have on the regular Switch. I have no intentions to replay those two Zelda titles in any ways ... Echoes was fun once but nothing mind blowing. Awakening was quite the disappointment to me.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Has Been Updated To Version 3.0.4, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Yalloo

@Tayrailbridge Have you never noticed?! XD Like in N64 Rainbow Road there's the flying gold train throwing coins onto the race..? In other circuits the toads and other characters in the audience throw coins too.

And to answer the questions: I haven't played MK8D since January I think but I do intend to get back to it before MK World releases, which I'm super looking forward to, even more after trying it last weekend. It was so much fun and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Re: Rumour: New Leak May Explain Why So Many Switch 2 Physicals Are Game Key Cards

Yalloo

I can honestly not believe Nintendo hasn't seen this coming... They factored the price of Switch 2 into sales forecast but not the cost of cartridges into game sales?? They couldn't have naively just assumed everybody would suddenly switch to digital and pay for expensive express cards!!
Curious how this situation will evolve in the lead up to release...

Re: Hideki Kamiya Intended To Continue Bayonetta With Another Trilogy

Yalloo

@babybilly Thanks! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป I'm glad for Astral Chain ... like I said, it could allow them to do a better and improved #2. They had lots of good ideas, but imo poorly executed and plenty of cliches.

I've never read that AC was one of the best action games on Switch, but good for the people thinking that, like you said we all have different preferences.
I have heard that many were disappointed with B3, which is mostly about the story not the gameplay, which many people find even improved, and just like Kamiya mentioned in his vlog, that was to better prepare for the next installments.
I don't care so much about the story, but the gameplay is genius and just so much fun imo.
AC in comparison feels rushed, unpolished with much room for improvements in that regard. But again, I'm happy it sold well, I did enjoy many parts of it, and if they make a #2, I'll be looking into it for sure.
Now I cannot imagine Switch 2 without Bayonetta 4. With or without Kamiya, doesn't matter to me. He was certainly not the one person who created all of it.

I also agree with your note about Sega, I don't believe P* has much of an input when it comes to deciding the future of the series. But they could certainly pitch a new game to Nintendo, and possibly use Kamiya/Clovers as a consultant. Or Kamiya/Clovers could pitch a new game to Nintendo himself, but that's not how he's proposing that at the moment according to his quotes.

Finally, let's not forget that P* is supposedly working on celebrations for the 15 years of the first Bayonetta game ... I'm very curious what will come out of it ๐Ÿ˜

Re: Hideki Kamiya Intended To Continue Bayonetta With Another Trilogy

Yalloo

@Lizuka Each Bayonetta entry has sold well over a million, that's not as much as Mario or Zelda, but it certainly is successfull. Plus the character is wildly popular and certainly unique and recognizable.

Astral Chain on the other hand, despite the potential, looks very generic, and the gameplay holds lots of room for improvement.

Maybe I am biaised being the big fan of the former and quite disappointed in the latter.
I certainly don't feel that both hit the same "niche".

Re: Hideki Kamiya Intended To Continue Bayonetta With Another Trilogy

Yalloo

I wouldn't really mind what they'd do with the story, in the sense that it's already so over the top that it doesn't matter to me so much.
But a complete model change for the game design sounds plain absurd. Just create a new franchise in this case. The mechanics in the Bayonetta games are absolutely perfect the way they are. Build upon that if you want, but from my side, I'm perfectly happy with a whole new trilogy with the exact same mechanics. With all of the demons and masquerades there's enough variety to just add new enemies and environments and call it a new game.

Now in any case, nobody is stopping him to be consultant on the new games if he's still so interested.
