I wouldn't really mind what they'd do with the story, in the sense that it's already so over the top that it doesn't matter to me so much. But a complete model change for the game design sounds plain absurd. Just create a new franchise in this case. The mechanics in the Bayonetta games are absolutely perfect the way they are. Build upon that if you want, but from my side, I'm perfectly happy with a whole new trilogy with the exact same mechanics. With all of the demons and masquerades there's enough variety to just add new enemies and environments and call it a new game.
Now in any case, nobody is stopping him to be consultant on the new games if he's still so interested.
Super Mario Kart introduced me to the series and I have such fond memories of playing that one with my two brothers, taking turns while the third one would make commentaries to try and distract the drivers while making us all laugh. Something I will never forget. One of the highlights of my youth ๐
Today I'm working, and tomorrow I'll experience the Switch 2 for the first time... so I do hope to play:
MK World
Metroid Prime 4
Cyberpunk 2077
DK Bananza
Drag 'n' Drive
Aside from these, I'll participate in the weekly ritual + full moon @ Tetris Effect Connected.
And I will also be doing some more missions of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity in Apocalyptic mode. I'm on the side-quests level 41+, and it's already quite tough. I also want to raise a weapon for every warrior to level 30.
Interview is so cool, it feels too short. These guys really exude passion, that's lovely. The setting and art direction of The Witcher was not something for me, but this looks pretty cool.
I'm really hoping to try it out Sunday at the S2 experience event so I can pre-order the physical straight away. Really curious about the goodies in the box too.
Need to play the game first, got the physical from LRG last year somewhere. But definitely keeping an eye out for another beautiful artbook. A bit pricey but .. yeah .. they don't make those things to be nice XD
Looking forward to holding it in my hand this Sunday at the Amsterdam experience event, seeing MK World and Cyberpunk for real. Then I can nicely wait till my preorder arrives in the mail when it does. Got plenty of great games to keep me a-waiting.
@Jack_Goetz As much as I'm happy for their success and everybody enjoying this game, I'm with you on that one. The more I see/hear about this game the more I wonder what's there to like. It looks so bland, generic and uninteresting. I sometimes forget that children also play videogames ... XD Curious if the success will continue on S2 with no physical releases.
I'm back into Hitman: Blood Money - Reprisal and I intend to finish it this time. I've reached the last mission "Amendment XXV" and what I can say is that this is quite an old/outdated game. With a walkthrough it is doable but overall I don't really find it entertaining.
I've started another playthrough of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, this time in Apocalyptic mode. I'm not sure how far I'll be able to go but for now it's a lot of fun!
I will also participate in the weekend ritual + full moon @ Tetris Effect Connected as usual.
@Suketoudara Furukawa always assumed being the financial guy at Nintendo and is quite proud of being good at what he is. Leaving the creatives be good at what they are. It's certainly different than with Iwata who was also a programmer, but it's just a different way of doing things and that can also make sense.
Just came here to say I've never liked the GTA games and I'm not looking forward to the new one coming out XD That it supposedly is the most anticipated game of the moment goes far beyond my understanding. But to each their own. Booh me if it makes you feel good!
@Slideaway1983 Luckily most of my games are physical. I'm more worried about DLCs at the moment. Haven't looked into it yet since I've got games running on every Switch. When they first announced this new feature I thought it could be nice for people with mostly digital libraries, but now I'm thinking it's very customer unfriendly, especially when you've got more than two systems.
It's sounds like a nice option to have, on paper.
I will never forget losing all of my Wii games save data and Miis when transfering to the Wii U.
Zero intention to use this. If I'm able to play select Switch games on S2 that will be fine and otherwise I'll stick to playing them all on S1. Worst case I'll create a new account just for S2.
First going to try and figure out how the new system with digital games is working with my 3 Switches. I am not looking forward to that.
@MrGawain I'm guessing Bayonetta is not considered a Nintendo series ? While it is exclusive to Nintendo systems (well 2 & 3 are). You're the only one who's mentioned her and she's missing from the poll.
I am so looking forward to Bayonetta 4, and also everything (anything?!) they're ready to give us as part of the 15 years celebrations ...
I got the bundle, an express 256Gb card and the case+screen protection.
I would have loved a bigger card, the pro controller and the wheels ... but that seemed unreasonable at the time. I kind of regret now, but I will be playing with that thing for years, so there's plenty of time to spend more money down the road.
Waiting to see what the games situation will be .... price and storage wise. I want to keep collecting physical games. Please don't ruin this for me. Digital has no justifications whatsoever besides greed. Don't make the world a worst place than it really needs to be.
Happy for them, congratulations! And curious to play the game myself when it comes to Switch 2. Now with impressive sales like this, no excuses to throw a game key card at us when it releases.... wouldn't that be the exact definition of greed.
@speed_loafer Same, I've loved all of the orchestrated music and some artwork on the side.
3D views of the HDMI cable and wheels on the other hand was a little bit underwhelming to say the least. I actually wondered if they didn't let some sort of AI run the app for them XD
@cosmograph I completely understand your situation. I only have one daughter and she's already 10, but when she was younger it was the same and I don't dare to think how it would be with two of them! Travelling with children (even older) is also a completely different experience. Children are a blessing so you've got that to enjoy for now, and there will surely come a time when you'll be able to make some old dreams come true. @cosmograph Thanks for your recommendation, I was a bit worried about that too, since it's usually quite quick movements, and all sorts of them too. I'm going to try it with small / light weights first and see how that goes, I've already ordered them anyways, and if it's not a good idea, I can still use them for something else...
@cosmograph Tbh, I know none of the names you've mentioned! But you've made me curious so I'll look them up XD Why don't you plan a trip here, in the summer it's certainly a great place to be at, and there are tons of festivals all over the place. Additionally the city offers lots of great activities for tourists and everybody is so friendly, you'd have a great time!
@cosmograph Even though I really don't enjoy weight training, I'm still doing it sometimes. As I'm trying to bulk up just a little bit these days, I thought to get wrists and ankles weights so I would actually play through Fitness Circuit instead of some old fashion weight training. It would probably not be that handy with Ring Fit, but still, curious if you've already tried that?
Metroid Dread was really fun, and the more time goes by, the more I'm convinced I'll end up going for another playthrough at some point...
I don't really care for those cosmetics, but I'd love to get this game ... just will need to be a proper physical edition. Tell me it's one of those key cards bs and I'll have to skip ...
I was looking forward to Daemon x Machina and now even more. I'd still like to try a demo first though, the first game's demo was so disapppointing that I didn't end up actually getting the game. Hope this new one will have enough improvements to make it worth it. At least so far it does look awesome.
Other than that, I'm affraid I'll be skipping a bunch of games if we can't get a proper physical edition for them.
I'd really like to get both the Cyberpunk and Hitman games, but they need to be physically all (or most of) on the cartridge. Same goes for Elden Ring. I think otherwise I'll just pass. I have no interests in collecting SD cards. One is fine.
Nice interview. Love how those guys are to-the-point!
I had a blast with Fast Racing Neo and Fast RMX was the only game I had to switch with Breath of the Wild. Downloading this one as soon as I've got my Switch 2 and MK World is installed.
No particular interest in the Fusion mechanic, but good to know where the game is getting its name from. And sure, why not. Just really into the futuristic races. I remember that the online was weird, but I've got Mario Kart for that. So it really doesn't matter.
@joeyflannel Do get prepared for the worst, it's the best way not to end up disappointed. ๐ I wish you all the best to get your hands on your brand new Switch 2 as soon as possible!! ๐งก๐ฎ
@Qwiff Tbf I haven't watched the video. And I'm sorry you will have to wait a bit longer to play this game.
I am simply reacting to the communication presented in this article.
In general I think it's best to focus on the positive side of things, so their game is ready, it's almost published on Switch and it's still released as planned on other fronts. Why the negativity about Nintendo's certifying process? I just find it unnecessary.
Must be lucky here in Europe. Got my invite to pre-order, which I did 2 days later and I got a confirmation that it was all ok. Now just waiting for the shipping confirmation begining of June ๐๐ป๐งก๐ฎ MK World looks simply wild ๐คฉ
Sounds like making a big story about nothing. So the game is delayed a month ... big deal. Nothing in this world is perfect. And blaming others while they simply didn't provide a straightforward build upfront... It can also happen, a simple message informing of a slight delay would have been more professional imo.
That's good to read. I hate leaving things plugged in longer than necessary so I don't let my pro controllers recharge during the night. And it always shocks my how long it takes. On the other hand, they do have quite a long autonomy.
I pre-ordered the Switch 2 bundle, together with a protection screen and case, and an express SD card, but I didn't give in the new controller, seemed way overpriced ... but now I'm regretting it. At least I'll be able to use the three regular ones I already have in the meantime ... Also happy to read the D pad is improved, playing Tetris with the current ones is simply impossible.
@MatoFilipovic I just finished it a few days ago, this one was just so fun I couldn't let go until I completed all of the challenges. If it's not been reviewed here, then it should definitely be part of the list!
@NorrinRadd Glad you could enjoy it! I didn't have the same experience unfortunately, and didn't bother giving it another try either. Obviously I missed the background of the previous games to be able to follow the story. But it was mostly the gameplay that didn't click with me, the whole pressing one button triggers running jumping and catching alltogether ... But to each their own, and I hope you'll enjoy the Switch 2's Shadow as well!
I've only ever played one AC game back on the Wii U where you start in a theatre and then end up on a boat. It was one of the most tedious games I'd ever played ... so no thanks! But good news for everyone looking forward to it should I say ๐
Have got this one on my list, releasing a day ahead of the new Shinobi. Certainly looks fun. But will need a couple of reviews and a physical edition please. Switch 1 or 2 ... doesn't really matter. I'll get the cheaper version.
Nice interview. I feel the passion just reading through it. Looking forward to this game. And the other Ninja Gaiden from Platinum. And the new Shinobi of course ...
I haven't found the time or interest to play this demo, and reading through this review and the above comments tells me it won't be something for me. Off I go uninstall this as I dig further into Gravity Circuit ๐ฎโ๐ป
I love this kind of surveys NL does. Always interesting to compare with other players.
There's quite the variety in launch games for Switch 2 and that is super cool!
I've pre-ordered the bundled MKW-Switch 2, but otherwise looking forward to proper physical versions of Cyberpunk and Hitman. Fast Fusion I'm fine downloading. And who knows maybe even Welcome Tour.
I've been playing Gravity Circuit, which I enjoy a lot. It's a Mega Man wannabe, and I've reached the point where you're fighting the same 8 bosses again (two icons are greyed out so maybe only just 6 of them in normal mode?). I'm going for finishing the game without using boosters / improvements but if that proves too difficult I'll just cave in and make things more doable for myself. So far I've managed to beat 3 of them, and of course they come in a random order every time.
Tetris Effect Connected is my other go-to game in the weekends to help reach the community goal and participate in the full moon ritual.
The new Hyrule Warriors game made me get back into Age of Calamity .. I'm playing some missions in between on my dedicated Zelda Switch. ๐
@GoldenSunRM Go for it! For having reached the 100% myself in the Definitive Edition during the lockdown years, I can tell you that even then I didn't get enough. Absolutely loved that game, AoC has a different feel (and I didn't care for the Divine Beasts missions) but I'm very much looking forward to this new game. Just really hope Link will be playable too, and it doesn't matter if Nintendo considers this canon or not... the stories are always so romantic, it's just lovely.

Don't the kids get proper music in their games nowadays ... ๐ตโ๐ซ
Re: Community: The Results Are In - These Are Your Most (And Least) Wanted Switch 2 Games
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (12th April)
Happy gaming!! โ๐ป๐งก๐ฎ
Re: Nintendo: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Is A "Canonical Tale"
@GoldenSunRM Go for it! For having reached the 100% myself in the Definitive Edition during the lockdown years, I can tell you that even then I didn't get enough. Absolutely loved that game, AoC has a different feel (and I didn't care for the Divine Beasts missions) but I'm very much looking forward to this new game. Just really hope Link will be playable too, and it doesn't matter if Nintendo considers this canon or not... the stories are always so romantic, it's just lovely.
Re: Scrooge McDuck Joins 'Disney Illusion Island' In Free Update This May
This game is aimed at very young audiences indeed. Playing it on my own was very boring to say the least.
Re: Don't Worry, Hollow: Knight Silksong Is Still Coming To The Original Switch
That only makes sense, thanks for clarifying.
