@rjejr Thanks for that. I saw somewhere in those comments that they were updating CQ2 for 2 years ... ๐จ I really did enjoy those games, but probably not enough to keep coming back for so long. Going through the game once is enough for me. A challenge mode could be interesting though ... I think I'll hold it until the major update is out on Switch and will see next year what those additionnal updates are and if I want to revisit it or not. I've got more than enough games anyways, still playing TotK and just went back to Shredder's Revenge for the DLC characters. ๐
I am not sure if I should get this one. Still own it on Wii. The 3DS levels do make it interesting though. I'm also still eyeing Tropical Freeze, which I own on Wii U. But actually not sure if I really feel like playing through these games again, even though it has been a long time since I've last played them. @rjejr Thanks, that's good to know. And maybe that explains why they're making an update for it. I just recently bought the trilogy they released physically and been playing them in between other games, it's good timing in my case ๐
How cool, I recently played through the first two, so I'll wait for this update to drop before I start #3.
I thought the second one was quite the improvement on the first, and reading this tells me that the third one is even better ๐ป
@JohnnyMind Took me 5 hours "or more" to do everything in #1, and 10 hours "or more" for #2 ... just so you know, in case you like to see some progress on your backlog ๐
I just don't understand how difficult it is to make a properly readable map. Man, what a shame. But glad that's the only real drawback here. Looking forward to the physical edition ..
It's a bit difficult to hear in the trailer, but the music sounds awesome. Too bad that's just not my kind of game, way too fast and chaotic. Love the theme/vibe too.
I am actually curious to see how they will "innovate in storytelling", that's an aspect I usually don't really care for in games. So who knows ... might be interesting ... but with the studio being brand new, I guess it will take a few years before there's something to try out.

@cosmograph Curious about all the other fitness games you've tried .. and what makes you bounce off of them.
I'm sticking to my trio of Wii Fit U, Ring Fit and Fitness Circuit. Always affraid to end up losing interest ... despite the years going by and still not having unlocked everything in any of the three ๐
Cat Quest II: which is kind of my palate cleanser, I don't really play action-RPG's, but I like the looks and how to-the-point it is. It's a bit too much like #1 so far (graphics, story, music) but it's very easy to get sucked into that one and I'm hoping it will go a bit further. Difficulty seems a bit more interesting already.
Mega Man X 3: I already gave up 3 times on this one, but it bothers me a lot so I keep coming back to it. The passwords don't save the sub tanks or the special abilities which make it really annoying, but I still would very much like to kick Sigma's true form's butt one good time. Let's see if I can manage that.
Mega Man 11: I've been playing this one in the easiest mode and I'm going to try the difficulty level above that, it's pretty tough. I really like the graphics, the music on the other hand is a big let down compared to all previous games imo. The Double Gear mechanic is also really cool, reminds me of the rewind feature available on the NES re-releases, just too bad it's limited in how many times you can use it...
Tears of the Kingdom: Slowly reaching 400h play time, and I set that as a limit where I'll put the game to rest.
Just Shapes & Beats: playing online challenge runs in between the other games.
Tetris 99: same here .. while waiting for the new theme and the physical edition of Tetris Forever.
So you hit a golf ball in real life, then there's a character on the screen going somewhere on a 3D court, probably based on your ball's speed and direction. You hit another ball and your character continues from that position. You probably get so many hits, and then a final score you can compare with other people. Is this what the game does? Just trying to understand ...
I just read the Sonic article where they're casually mentioning the end of both films ... and I got to thinking about that guy's comment complaining about me spoiling the end of an old game he's already finished ... life is full of irony, isn't it ๐
@Yodalovesu Since you're calling me out, I will answer you.
I didn't openly spoil the ending, since I preceded my description of the end of the story with "Spoiler:".
The game is 7+ years old.
As an art piece, don't be ofended by people who have a different perspective than you. It can only be positive and enriching to hear/discuss other point of views.
As a videogame, it's my impressions/feelings that both the story, the gameplay, the puzzles and the performance are all bad in this game.
I've checked the Wikipedia page of the game since I played it many years ago. And as much as it is a bit more vague and kind of open to interpretation, I do stand by my understanding/interpretation of the story/ending and the fact that to me this should never have been a videogame.
I wonder why you'd think I "got it wrong".
Bottom line is, you and I just have different opinions.
@the_beaver @Markatron84 Ok, thanks for the explanation!
@the_beaver Rime is the worst game I have ever played on Switch (oh wait, just behind Batman Arkham Knight). Not only is the port a nightmare, but the story itself is imo nothing that should be made into a videogame (Spoiler: it's about a miscarriage from the point of the view of a father). The puzzles have very poor logic, most of the time the character is either floating above ground or sunk into it ... I'll leave it at that. Horrible game.
That the studio's moto is to make games with taste is a bad joke when considering Rime.
Wish them all the best despite this bad experience I've had.
People wondering why none of Nintendo's OST can be found on spotify will get the answer while seeing this commercial. Isn't this more PSA than random then XD
Interesting how Nintendo is actually giving some information about their next console. I'm almost in shock.
I don't mind the backward compatibility, but seems like everyone was looking forward to it, so that's a good thing. Also compatible with the current Switch, that's something, I can't imagine what that means aside from local multiplayer / online crossplay.
That NSO is coming along though .. is it going to be renamed or will the new console be called Switch something too ... Super Switch would be a very cool name, despite indicating that there won't be any real new feature ... Wait and see!
I'd be curious to know where these numbers are coming from. As mentioned in the article, these are estimates. Based on what exactly?
Imo, this is just another way to generate free cash and publicity. I don't believe they could possibly know anything about the revenue of such a newly released app. Estimate in this case means "wild guess".
I'm playing exclusively Bayonetta 2 at the moment. Got my Platinum trophy at Witch Trial #5 on the 15th anniversary of the witch, what a coincidence. Grabbing them in story mode now on hard difficulty. Missing the last 4 chapters. After that I will grab them all in normal mode too ... because why not, and I can't get enough XD
Voidwrought 24/11 too.
Waiting for physicals for this, Nine Sols and Tetris Forever of course!
Pre-ordered Stray, hope it won't be a disappointing port...
Still waiting on physicals for earlier releases like Gori and Nikoderiko ... how hard can it be in 2024 XD
@Spider-Kev I usually bring the costs of both hardware and software down to an hourly rate.
Now with 800h in Hyrule Warriors, 350+ on each Zelda game, 100'sh on each Bayonetta game, and countless 100h+ games, my conclusion is that playing videogames costs me for sure less than 0.50 EUR per hour ... I can't think of a cheaper hobby!
Either you should play more, either try and complain less, ... or maybe just switch hobbies ๐ ๐๐
As much as the very specific gameplay of Zero was super immersive imo, the game itself was just not fun at all. Plus the story really was z-level at best, the art direction was sad and empty, and the levels were just re-used over and over again. Once I managed to reach the end, I remember telling myself Starfox was just not a series for me anymore. I do appreciate developers trying new things, but the result there was certainly not something worth selling. There, that's my answer ๐
@Dev1024 I understand everybody feels different. In my case, I have a backlog of games waiting to be played and a long list of favourite games to play again, so the whole time they're teasing an incoming game, I'm already thinking about it and enjoying it before it's even available. ๐
Nice positive music coming from SMW, how sweet. ๐๐ป๐
In regards to the dripfeed, I will be in the minority that believes it's a good thing. Imagine starting your game with all costumes, power-ups, weapons, etc... unlocked and maxed out ... drip-feeding gives the time to pay attention and enjoy every single album one by one, instead of being overflowed by so many that you can't even try them all. I find it much more enjoyable. Just like getting a brand new episode of your favourite series each week gives you the time to discuss it with your friends, imagine what could be happening, building up for the next one, and actually enjoying it much more than if you'd be binge-watching everything overnight ... 2 months later you don't even remember half of what you saw ...
Maybe I'm old-school in that regard, but one new OST per week makes perfect sense in my opinion.
@Scapetti Thanks for sharing. Turns out I'm also curious about both. But will first wait on reviews. Tarsier has good ideas but the execution sometimes leaves to be desired. I'm actually happy #3 is handled by another studio. Co-op with AI however ... I'm not convinced.
The app is made to listen to music. You want to know who wrote said music, just type in the title and game it comes from in Google, you'll get all the details about it. What's the big deal?
I'm a big fan of art, music and games, I honestly don't think this discussion is either fair nor makes any sense. All these artists work(ed) for Nintendo and they got paid to write this music. Plus it's not like any of them didn't follow a direction set by their management, or used inspiration/sheet music from previous games.
I highly respect and very much appreciate their work, but we are talking about an app that's like a bonus part of NSO ... again relaying bs from sad people on social media who have nothing better to do than complain while half the world is at war...
The credits will be added in due time and until then, they're not hidden or anonymous, but it does take a quick Google search to find them, if you really care.
@Simu001 That certainly helps! Thanks. ๐๐ป Unfortunately poin'n'click, game makers and sims are just not my genres. I really like action / arcade games. Also too many story elements / details to follow makes me lose interest quickly. But it doesn't matter, it's also interesting to discuss all kinds of games and opinions ๐โ๐ป
Don't know which cartoon is the trailer music coming from, but it's absolutely horrible. Gameplay seems pretty boring too. Too bad, as a rythm game fanatic, everything else about the game seems enticing. Maybe trying it through a demo would give me a better feeling about it. Not a big fan of Disney in any ways, but I've seen a bunch of the old cartoons as a kid and my kid has been watching a bunch of the new ones on the + App and in cinemas together with me ...
Another one of those trailers that tells me nothing about the game ... does make me curious though ... especially with all those "overwhelmingly positive" reviews and strange concept!
Thanks for the review, it gives a good idea of what this is all about. I'm sure as a kid I would have loved collecting those beautiful virtual cards. Any idea how many cards are there in total? - just curious!
Looking forward to more Zelda games: ALTTP, WW, TP and SS of course. Bayonetta if possible. And for the rest, surprise me, there's great music aplenty as well MIDI as fully orchestrated ๐งก๐ฎ๐ธ
I love this new app. Great idea, no ads, adds (imo) tremendous value to NSO, I love good music and Nintendo has plenty of it.
Tbh most videogame music that I love I already have downloaded on my PC and phone, I regularly listen to OST like Bayonetta 1 2 3, Mario Kart 8D, Bullets Per Minute and Ender Lillies. But stuff like DKC and Yoshi's Island I didn't have yet for some reason. This app put a big smile on my face going to bed last night and waking up this morning. Hope they keep adding lots and lots of tracks ๐
@8bit-Man I very much appreciate knowing other people have a similar perspective as I have.
And @Vegeta937 what a nice and clear way to put it... I can get very passionate, even more when it comes to such topics as individual freedom. I have a hard time accepting that in Europe in 2024 I have to suffer from such rules in my day-to-day life because other people are limited and/or refuse to take their own responsability.
Much love ๐งก fellow gamers ๐ฎ
I'm not going to call out sanderev, but I do hope that simply talking about it/exchanging here online can open up minds and let anyone be more tolerant/responsible. ๐๐ป
@Bobobiwan I remember many fans were disappointed with the story like you were and he mentioned "I'm going to say it now so that you don't tell me afterwards that I've changed it because of fan perception" or something like that. And I remember thinking "oh yeah, he's planned it already, kind of like the story of 1 and 2 loop on each other".
I think that's a very important point, even more when you're unhappy with 3 as you've shared.
One thing I love about the community here on NL is that you can express all sorts of opinions and still we can exchange about it politely. Like I said, I loved the passion you expressed about these games, being a big fan myself, and tbh I feel a bit sad for you that you couldn't enjoy it as much as I did ... but it's just what it is. Sometimes it's just the expectations that are going to ruin a game for you, but other times it's just a different artistic view/direction like you said. And that's what makes art what it is, (un)fortunately it cannot always please everyone. Or then it's not art anymore but just a mainstream product.
I can't keep track of all the music albums that disappointed me over the years despite loving the ones that came beforehand. So I can completely understand.
There was a whole new collect-a-thon dimension in the game that was different in the previous ones, completely agreed. I did like that, but the only thing I really care for and I'm so in love with is the combat, the new enemies, the Witch Time mechanic, all the challenges. That's the core of the Bayonetta experience for me. But we're all different, and like I mentioned 3 has a strong personality of its own.
I didn't really enjoy Viola either, for the most part her dodging was too tight and too different indeed. But still I think it's nice they tried something else. I think they wanted more people to be able to play the games. I did really enjoy her musical theme though ๐
Bayonetta Origins was a big disappointment for me, despite knowing it was nothing like the main series. But still I'm glad they're trying other things. And the game is full of love for the series and looks gorgeous in any case. I will give it another chance somewhere down the line.
Spoiler
The ending for me was the Let's Dance Boys part, just like in 1 with the amazing new jazzy version of the song, and I had cried when she died before, and I was crying the whole pop song thinking "what? what? no but what?" but I was then crying happy tears with that finale finale song and everything was OK. Like I said the gameplay is really the only thing that's important for me.
Happy to exchange with you. Looking forward to Bayonetta 4 whenever they're ready ๐งก
@sanderev Well, it seems that one of us is clearly missing the point here.
As you can see this app is allowed everywhere else in the world, and looking at the comments here, many people are enjoying it a lot.
What I am saying is that it is not the government's place to decide this. Unless too many people in the Benelux specifically are too *** choose the word carefully here *** to take care of themselves and their kids to be abused by a videogame. The rule is not against this Pokemon game specifically, it's about all videogames. I'm 41, and I can take care of myself. At least I think so. I find that absolutely abnormal to be treated like this by my own government.
And to clarify, I have nor never had any interests in Pokemon, just I know that my 10 year old would love opening 2 free card packs everyday and she was really looking forward to seeing the new 3D cards in action. I don't see the harm in that. And when she will ask me to pay for more, I will tell her "no" and explain to her why. As simple as that.
What is positive about all this though, is that there are actually people who are happy being treated like this by their own government. And I can only be happy for you in that regard. It makes this law not completely useless after all.
@JohnnyMind Love to see supporters, despite the fact that you didn't have the time to play the games yet ๐ I always hope everybody would love these games, and there are different difficulty levels, and like mentioned, the first one is much more arcade with different gameplays for each "mini-game". But since you're a big fan of Japanese games and Japanese culture in general, I'm sure you will love the over-the-top characters and stories. Curious to read your feedback in the WAYP features when you reach that stage in your backlog โ๐ป
@Bobobiwan Wow. I really appreciate all the passion ๐
After playing hundreds of hours on each of the games, I do think #1 is my favourite, with the tightest gameplay and the nicest challenges.
The stories, honestly, I'm not a person of details, and as much as I enjoyed 1 and 2, it is true that 3 was pretty sad and more dark in comparison. But so much more emotional and maybe a little too mainstream.
But like 1 and 2 are linked together, don't forget that Kamiya said that we would only understand 3 after we would play 4. No idea what he planned there and surely he will be a consultant on 4, but I'm expecting either something mind-blowing we haven't seen coming, either some sort of cosmic joke that would really fit the series.
Now gameplay wise, I CANNOT understand how you would feel insulted as a gamer, the gameplay is the same as the previous games, and even extended with the Demon Summoning, there is more challenge and it pushes the Witch Time mechanic even further. You can either play just like the previous games, or enjoy this advanced gameplay that allows for longer combo building and even more challenge.
I wasn't a fan of Viola either, or the mini games with Jeanne tbh, but I mean, these are very small portions, details in the game. Think of all the mini-games in 1, this is not worse in 3. Maybe it left a strong impression, but surely time-wise it's a drop in the ocean.
Music has always been stellar in the Bayonetta games, and in 3 they also improved that on every aspect.
Just wanted to share this with you... Keep the spirit alive, give the gameplay of 3 another chance, and wait 'till after 4 to judge the story ๐๐๐ป
@sanderev This is a completely incorrect shortcut my friend.
Are children allowed Credit Cards or any other payment method used on mobile phones?
No. And the reason why these apps are forbidden is exactly because parents are not taking responsability and leaving the children play unreasonably with such apps.
These apps could actually be very fun, AND the perfect way to learn what to be careful about.
But since people are too dumb, then it must be forbidden. Now, it's not just banned for children is it, it's banned for everyone. Is Pokemon only for children then? And aren't adults responsible for themselves and whatever s*** they get themselves into?
Do you know how much money Candy Crush generates each year? Do you know where those billions actually come from? From adults paying bonuses to skip a level to show their friends how big their ego is. "Please save me from myself Mighty Government".

@Dev1024 I understand everybody feels different. In my case, I have a backlog of games waiting to be played and a long list of favourite games to play again, so the whole time they're teasing an incoming game, I'm already thinking about it and enjoying it before it's even available. ๐
Re: 'Nintendo Music' Update Adds Super Mario Bros. Wonder Songs
Re: Get Into The Halloween Spirit With This Creepy New Little Nightmares III Trailer
@Scapetti Thanks for sharing.
Turns out I'm also curious about both. But will first wait on reviews. Tarsier has good ideas but the execution sometimes leaves to be desired.
I'm actually happy #3 is handled by another studio. Co-op with AI however ... I'm not convinced.
Re: Come On, Where Are The Composer Credits in 'Nintendo Music'?
Re: 'The Bunny Graveyard' Brings Creepy Jumpscares And GBA-Inspired Visuals To Switch Today
@Simu001 That certainly helps! Thanks. ๐๐ป
Unfortunately poin'n'click, game makers and sims are just not my genres. I really like action / arcade games. Also too many story elements / details to follow makes me lose interest quickly.
But it doesn't matter, it's also interesting to discuss all kinds of games and opinions ๐โ๐ป
Re: 'The Bunny Graveyard' Brings Creepy Jumpscares And GBA-Inspired Visuals To Switch Today
@Simu001 Have you played it? How would you describe it, seems like a bunch of mini-games ...

@Zaruboggan @Ooccoo_Jr Thanks guys, have fun with it ๐๐ปโ๐ป
Re: Mobile Rhythm Game 'Disney Music Parade' Scores A Switch Encore In Asia December 2024
Re: 'The Bunny Graveyard' Brings Creepy Jumpscares And GBA-Inspired Visuals To Switch Today
Another one of those trailers that tells me nothing about the game ... does make me curious though ... especially with all those "overwhelmingly positive" reviews and strange concept!
Re: Review: Pokรฉmon Trading Card Game Pocket (Mobile) - A Breezy, Beautiful Take On TCG, Gacha Aside
Thanks for the review, it gives a good idea of what this is all about. I'm sure as a kid I would have loved collecting those beautiful virtual cards.
Any idea how many cards are there in total? - just curious!
Re: 'Nintendo Music' Will Add More Tracks Over Time, Here's What's Been Revealed So Far
Looking forward to more Zelda games: ALTTP, WW, TP and SS of course.
Bayonetta if possible.
And for the rest, surprise me, there's great music aplenty as well MIDI as fully orchestrated ๐งก๐ฎ๐ธ
Re: So, Will You Be Listening To The New Mobile App Nintendo Music?
Re: Pokรฉmon Trading Card Game Pocket Launches Worldwide Today
Re: 'Nintendo Music' Is A New Mobile App Exclusive To Switch Online Members
This is awesome! This is just so cool. And it plays in the background ๐
Just ... Hello .. Bayonetta music on the 15th anniversary ... ?! (needed to find a con, right๐ )
Think the audio quality is also better than Youtube or Spotify ... will continue listening tomorrow ... what a great way to end the day.
Re: Digital Eclipse's 'Tetris Forever' To Include 2 MS-DOS Games
Oh man, it will feel like forever having to wait for the physical edition ..... Luckily, there's enough Tetris on Switch to keep me waiting ...
Re: Bayonetta Character Designer Celebrates Series' 15th Anniversary With New Art
Re: Pokรฉmon Trading Card Game Pocket Launches Worldwide Today
Re: Bayonetta Character Designer Celebrates Series' 15th Anniversary With New Art
@JohnnyMind Love to see supporters, despite the fact that you didn't have the time to play the games yet ๐
I always hope everybody would love these games, and there are different difficulty levels, and like mentioned, the first one is much more arcade with different gameplays for each "mini-game".
But since you're a big fan of Japanese games and Japanese culture in general, I'm sure you will love the over-the-top characters and stories. Curious to read your feedback in the WAYP features when you reach that stage in your backlog โ๐ป
Re: Bayonetta Character Designer Celebrates Series' 15th Anniversary With New Art
Re: Pokรฉmon Trading Card Game Pocket Launches Worldwide Today
