@Krambo42 I'm also actually considering buying the Yooka remake. I don't have an interest in the game (didn't play the original though) and absolutely hated the Impossible Lair, so the reason is purely because it's all on the cartridge.
I've pre-ordered Demon X, which I would not have done should it not have been on the cartridge either.
The situation is a little bit abnormal since the S2 is brand new and there are fewer games at the moment, but in my case being a physical collector actually impacts which games I'm adding to my backlog.
I've been wanting to get Cyberpunk, so that was a no-brainer. On the other hand I did not get Hitman and I'm affraid I will also not get to play Elden Ring...
I could feel bad if this was any other game XD I have the physical, never even took it out of the cellophane ... Had too much fun with Ring Fit, and now Fitness Circuit. But who knows ... maybe in the future I give this one a try.
Loved everything about Hollow Knight the first time around. Have been going through the Wanderer's Journal the last days to try and tame some nostalgia. I'm sure I'll love Silksong just as much when I get hold of the physical edition.
@Saints Music is very accessible thanks to streaming services, that is correct. However the quality of the audio is very different if you compare between services, and with CDs or vinyles for example. Everything has pros and cons. Same goes with physical and digital games.
The only reason Silksong didn't release earlier is because HK sold so many copies since the sequel was announced ... 3 millions before, 12 millions after. They would have been completely dumb to release that game any time before now.
I absolutely adored HK and will be happy to jump into Silksong as soon as a proper physical comes out. But all the stories about the devs taking their sweet time make no sense whatsoever, at least to me.
I'm spending a few days in Dublin, so I'm not gaming so much ...
I am playing Bayonetta 3 on the Switch every now and then, and will participate in the weekend ritual @ Tetris Effect Connected.
I took the Switch 2 along as well in case I want to play MK World, but I'm collecting Peach Medallions and I miss 3 ... which will probably be a pain to find. Going to use one of the online interactive maps, after the NLife guide left me in this situation ... I don't know what I did wrong .. but it's just what it is. The game map is really lame imo.
Bayonetta 3: I've started a new playthrough. Love this game! Still wondering what Platinum is cooking for Bayonetta's 15th anniversary ... better not be just another HD / remaster ...
Tetris Effect Connected: weekend ritual + full moon, as usual.
Mario Kart World: over halfway through the collection of Peach medallions. If it wasn't for the rewind feature I would have given up a long time ago.
Wow ... is this product placement? I didn't bother reading the whole review, just the intro and conclusion, so maybe this is mentioned somewhere. An accessory that can only be used with one game... I wonder.
In any ways, I love rythm games and would be curious which games I can play with this ... as long as the input lag is not as bad as it was with all these accessories back in the day.
Isn't this just another way to get people to talk about their product and steal a couple more sales...? Updating an image without any official confirmation... How lame. Just glad I have zero interests in their games.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown: I'm doing the Divine Memorials and have just reached the Stallion's boss. Man, those challenges are tough!
Tetris Effect Connected: I'm participating in the weekend ritual + Full Moon.
Drag x Drive: I've downloaded the demo and I'll jump in for a couple of rounds this afternoon to participate in the Global Jam. I enjoyed similar events back in the days with Splatoon on Wii U and Switch.
Mario Kart World: Been slowly collecting panels and medallions, not the most fun thing to do, luckily there's always the P-Switches to keep it interesting.
@topsekret Hey, I must admit my comment was mostly a joke. Copying the data onto the cart is simply not the part of the process that takes the longest.
I have read extensively on the matter (I am a physical collector afteral) and my conclusion is simple: when you don't want to do something, it will be very difficult to actually get it done. You can order something 3D printed from China and get it the next day but a proper physical edition of a game on Switch 2 is impossible?!...
I'm not sure about SR2, but they can release a digital game that they will patch digitally while releasing a physical version that could be unfinished and seriously bugged would be another story. There are all sorts of "checkpoints" on the road of making these physical cartridges nowadays with delays in between them and that for sure gets shortened when going just digital. Finally they take a much bigger margin on the digital only product so they want to give it priority by selling only that version during the first months.
To come back to your other comment (about Elden Ring), I'm also hopeful. Since there has been no announcements from companies like LRG about pre-orders for physical games on S2, Nintendo and their 3rd parties must be looking into the matter. I imagine otherwise LRG would have jumped on the opportunity. Most of these games fit on an S2 cart, they can set a DLC aside or a language pack and most of the game would be on the cart, versus GKC where nothing actually is.
Finding the right games is part of the fun for me, so definitely won't be using this app. Plus reading some of the comments here tells me that it's far from fine-tuned. Reminds me of a certain .. hun hum ... better eShop project. A good idea doesn't always end up a good product.
I'm curious about Life of Goldman since everytime I'm looking for physical releases it's popping up, and with a different date. Not sure what it is or what it's worth ... so I'd like to know more.
Just a bit affraid that 15 mins will go by way to quickly ...
HKS .. ? Don't dare to even mention the name, but would be a good surprise.
Tetris 99: unlocked the DKB theme. The music is stellar, what a cool theme for the collection. I ended up twice second. I always forget how much I prefer 99 over Effect, it feels so much more natural and fluid.
Prince of Persia - The Lost Crown: working my way through the Divine Trials, I'm left with the Stallion and Auroch Memorials. Almost done with the flowers and mushrooms... if you know the one.
Mario Kart World: got all of my 3 stars and just roaming around collecting the panels, 87 to go.
Tetris Effect Connected: will participate in the weekend ritual to make sure I get my event avatar of the week.
I'm wondering ... in the US, when you go to a shop prices don't include taxes. Is it still like this nowadays? So when you get to checkout you always have to pay much more than you thought. Is it the same with these online prices? So 47 USD is actually not the price including taxes?
Oh, and of course, lovely to read about one physical S2 game actually on the card! I'm not into this kind of games unfortunately, but I'll see if I can find someone to buy it for.
Nice, news and a review alltogether. Thanks for that.
To add to the discussion here, I've played Blood Money for the first time this year, through the LRG physical release. I've been pretty disappointed. Maybe the game was good back in the days, but in 2025 it's completely outdated. Sure the scenarios are cool and very inventive but the gameplay, UI, and lack of automatic saves make playing it way more frustrating than it has the right to be. I will also mention the ugly old graphics, useless "music" and poor sound design. I'm sure people who love this game have played it for the first time back in the days.
Absolution being over 10 years old, and straying off path is not going to make me a believer either I guess.
I was looking forward to World of Assassination on S2... but game-key card is big no-thank-you.
Still hoping to see something for that year-long celebration of Bayonetta besides fan art competitions and pop-up stores in Hong Kong ... an Amiibo .. who knows even a game .. ?!
I was also very disappointed with the demo of the first game which I didn't get. I'm trusting a second attempt will make things right and since it gets a proper physical release on Switch 2, I've pre-ordered it with my eyes closed.
@WRDend Ah ok, thanks. Too bad they didn't add a Han clone skin to satisfy the fans and not compromise their artistic vision. But releasing a game unfinished is clearly not a smart move either.
Seems like they're bringing this onto themselves. .. Releasing unfinished games that build a community of haters. I read here that the game is now working fine and potentially even good but also seems everybody is still hungup on how bad it was when most people got onto it. Well ... respect goes a long way in case you wondered ...
@The_Nintend_Pedant Or if you can draw and are lazy ... Looks far enough from the "flash" type games from the early 2000 to suit my taste. Another game you won't be playing then ..? ๐
I've added these two to my backlog already. Love a good rythm game, especially with a twist. Happy to see they hold up and are lots of fun. Also good to know about the frustrating bits, better be prepared to enjoy the game even more.
Still no word on a playable Link ... bit scary. I can't imagine this game without him.
@Sylamp Yeah, I loved both games, but the gameplay feels completely different in the feedback and how the enemies react. Took me a while to get used to AoC before falling madly in love with it. Maybe give DE another try ...
Feeling like you have to explain your funghi joke... ๐คญ And "I am so inspired by the magnificient Toads before me" ... seriously! ๐คญ Some news bits are just perfect to start the day ๐
I'm about to use a key to enter a palace, after finding all the collectibles. Before I continue though I'd like to clear the DLC with Radjen. I will be left with the Divine Trials and I like to get all my amulets to level +1. I'm sitting at 92.5%.
Tetris Effect Connected
Participating in the weekly ritual + full moon as usual.
Mario Kart World
Trying to get the third star I'm missing in three of the Knockout Tours.
@Anti-Matter Arms is such a fun game, pretty underrated too I would say.
I will certainly participate in this online demo if I'm available, but just like Splatoon, I'm affraid that's the only thing I'll be playing about that game. I remember the input lag was a bit too much to my taste during the S2 experience. Otherwise it gives a nice feeling with the HD rumble 2.
@rvcolem1 You should definitely check out the Wikipedia pages. It's all very interesting concepts. To sum it up, it's kind of like an open source music and music video project. They're using the vocaloid technology and have created virtual idols. Anybody can use them to make their own music without real singers or instruments.
If you like rythm games, definitely check out Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega Mix, which there is a demo for. I would love additional DLCs for this game btw ... instead of this sequel crossover... but also glad to see it has its audience.
@The_Nintend_Pedant Oh, and Galaxy 3 would be such a dream, even though some of the newer 3D Marios are really really cool and fun, Galaxy 1 & 2 will I think remain my favourites for a long time.
I'm affraid that the format is a little bit outdated by now to make a new entry but who knows, maybe they come up with a more modern way to make #3. And that would be awesome.
@The_Nintend_Pedant You know, I always played a lot of 1st party Nintendo games on all of my consoles too, but thinking about it, there was also always more or less 3rd party games depending on the generation. Never as many as on Switch though. And I think the more videogames we play, the more we need to find other games to play. That's only a good thing right, a bit like if you really like an author and never read anybody else's books ... or worst just read the one book your whole life XD
But it can also be difficult to find what will suit your taste. Sometimes a streak of disappointments can lead to being jaded or less interested in the medium.
I appreciate the variety in your top 10 and I'm sure you've spent hundreds of hours having lots of fun.
Switch 2 is only just getting started but I see the same potential. Like I mentioned, just MK World and MP4 are assured to give me unforgettable experiences.
I've made a sort of top 10 below, games that I have created unforgettable memories with, spent countless hours playing and will hold forever dear. I've cheated a little bit with ports, games that are not exclusives, and groups, but it will give you a very clear picture, and I have played all these on my sweet Switch (1!). Also, I am unable to order them.
Bayonetta 1, 2 & 3
TotK & BotW
MK8D
Tetris 99
ARMS
Hollow Knight
Taiko no Tatsujin
Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega Mix
Hyrule Warriors DE & AoC
Shredder's Revenge
It's more exercise than really gaming, but Ring Fit Adventure is also high up there.
I loved Cuphead too, and want to go for another playthrough if I can ever find the time, I'm sure I can grab a few more achievements there. Probably not all of them though, I loved the challenge in that game. Aside from the gorgeous graphics and music of course.
I have been also very disappointed in Mario Tennis and Switch Sports, after playing the demos, really too bad, but yeah.. there's luckily plenty of other games to replace them. I've learned that you can't always get what you expect. And sometimes the (wrong/misplaced) expectations are actually what ruin the fun.
Nice topic to exchange on. Don't hesitate to tag me when you have more games to share, I love to read what people are passionate about and the great experiences that amazing games can bring.
So I got emails that the physical edition of Patapons have been shipped and delivered today while it was listed for end of the month. I find it hard to believe but I will see it (or not) in my mailbox tonight.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th August)
Mario Kart World: I haven't made progress on my 3 missing Peach medallions so I intend to find one this weekend.
Tetris Effect Connected: participating in the weekly ritual + full moon. I'll definitely get at least one of my last 4 missing Guardian Avatars today.
Bayonetta 3: Missing 4 Platinum medals in normal mode, including the three chapters with Viola ..
Tetris 99: participating in the 49th cup, always good fun, just getting the 20 points for each theme quickly, even though I already have them.
These are my gaming plans for this rainy weekend.

Play on brother! โ๐ป๐งก๐ฎ

@The_Nintend_Pedant Ah well, I'm sure you'll come around.
Which games have you enjoyed on your Switch, top 10?
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th July (North America)
So I got emails that the physical edition of Patapons have been shipped and delivered today while it was listed for end of the month. I find it hard to believe but I will see it (or not) in my mailbox tonight.
