Re: Lies Of P's Soulslike Puppetry Comes To Switch 2 This August

Yalloo

Ouh yeah, I've been hearing so many good things about this game, and it's physical! I am pre-ordering as soon as I can find it!!

Like everybody keeps saying ... 3rd party support on Switch 2 is crazy! Wish more of them would get the proper physical treatment, but I'm fine waiting for LRG, SRG, FG, and the lot.

Re: Mina The Hollower Has Now Sold Half A Million Copies

Yalloo

@Max_the_German Funny you would mention Animal Well. I also played it recently (also got the physical from LRG) and was likewise disappointed. I found it way more cryptic than necessary, which in the end gave me the feeling of never being satisfied or rewarded. And the lack of music was a big miss imo. I thought the graphical style was quite good and there was some great game mechanics but overall I found it mostly disappointing. I don't think I'll play it ever again and I judge that I've paid too much for it, compared to the enjoyment I got of it.

On the other hand I'm playing Cyber Shadow atm, which I bought the deluxe edition since the regular physical was no longer available, and I already had more than my money's worth with this one.

So yeah, not all games are equal ...
I've enjoyed Hollow Knight so very much that I'm sure I will have a great time with Silksong too. But you know the saying ... Take the risk, or lose the chance ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch 2 Revision For Europe

Yalloo

@inenai Look, we can argue about this, and you can pretend that you don't get my point... in your specific example, indeed it doesn't make sense.

Now, I use my devices as much as I can, and despite that, I will have a new one before the battery needs replacing. With new functionalities, with better screens, sound, ... So being able to change the battery is not something I see a point in. Good for you if you do. Keep in mind we live different lives and have different needs.

My point was (and is): making half baked laws like this is pointless and more of a burden than anything else.

Why not go all the way and force the reuse and recycling of batteries then? I'd consider this a valuable initiative. The one forced here by Europe, is, again only in my humble opinion and based on my own usage, just a sad political move that is not necessary and will create more waste.

Re: Nintendo Fined โ‚ฌ35 Million Over Widespread Joy-Con Defects

Yalloo

@Jeronan You're right! I imagine/hope few people had that issue the first years.

I meant seven years till the resolution of the claim ... and in the US they gave up after "only" 5 years.

I did get joycons drifting and got them replaced/repaired for free. I also got other issues and also free replacement/repair. So I can't complain. But I do imagine the hassle for parents/people with only one pair of joycons.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion is my new main, but aside from the music, nothing impresses me much so far. I'm only a couple of hours in, so let's see.

I've started a new save in Cyber Shadow, hopefully I can unlock some more feats.

Thanks to @Stockpot, I will be able to finish up #3 in Monument Valley: The Trilogy. Now in the postgame.

And as usual, I will participate in the Tetris Effect: Connected weekend ritual.

Happy gaming! โœŒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿงก๐ŸŽฎ

Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch 2 Revision For Europe

Yalloo

@Jeronan There is no need to be insulting. Maybe you should have read my comments properly. Who is talking about throwing away millions of batteries? I still use my Switch bought in 2017 daily. I'm saying it is not the consumer that should be up to changing batteries. Most people will never do it, but the prices will increase for everyone and the trash as well.

There should however be proper rules for disposing and recycling not only the battery but also everything else. And if you cannot (easily) change the battery, maybe you will (be forced to) use the device longer.

Again, to each their own opinions, and we will see the results of these laws soon enough. Phones used to come with this option, there are many good reasons while it is no longer the case.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch 2 Revision For Europe

Yalloo

@Jeronan @inenai The battery is the most polluting part of the whole device. Making them replaceable means using more of them, in turns polluting more.
Making a law that those batteries need to be re-usable and recyclable would have made much more sense, imo.

Adding more functionalities to a device (like a new program that should also be compatible with older/other programs, or parts that must be modular) just adds up to the device's price, making it in turn even more expensive.

Furthermore, I want a device that's ready to use, I have no interests whatsoever in replacing parts. (again, just my opinion, I get it if you want to go the extra mile, and good for you)

Now, you can fool yourself in thinking this is better, I'm not sorry for being realist on the matter.
In any case, laws have been voted and this is what will be happening. We will see the outcome soon enough.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch 2 Revision For Europe

Yalloo

Nobody is forcing anybody to buy products with batteries that cannot be easily replaced.

There are models of modular phones and phones which batteries can be easily replaced, clearly this is not what consumers are looking for. And what is the point when every two years you're getting a new device? Just wait and see that the replaceable battery will cost just as much as a new device.

Trying to fix something that is not broken comes down to creating a new problem. And we're very good at that here in Europe.

Re: Beloved Mega Man-Style Platformer Is Getting A Sequel Next Year

Yalloo

@jfp That's funny, I actually thought of you (well ... your lovely Crypt Custodian avatar) last night when I read this on another site. If it's anything like the first one, it will be a treat!

Like @Anti-Matter mentioned, the music is also a banger!

@Pillowpants Unfortunately you are very right. This one however is imo even better than the original 8-bit MM games. Definitely an easy recommendation.

Re: Video: 11 Exciting New Games Coming To Switch 1 & 2 In June 2026

Yalloo

I still have to play the demo of Denshattack, so that will leave some time for a physical edition to see the light of day.
And I've got my Tetris fix likely till the end of the year, so hopefully GM4 will also be available physically by then.
I unfortunately cannot say that I'm looking forward to a Starfox remake, but one can always change their minds ...
I've got the Rayman 30th pre-ordered and that's supposed to come end of the month, so I'll be able to make a little bit of progress on all the lovely games sitting in my backlog!

Re: Mina The Hollower Is Now Metacritic's Highest-Rated Game Of 2026

Yalloo

@Otimus It's an interesting discussion. However keep in mind that the reviewers are not paying the games with their own money. Also there are sometimes pre-order discounts.

I would argue that it doesn't have an influence, to an extent. A small difference in price probably won't affect judgement, while a bigger one surely would.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th May)

Yalloo

@JohnnyMind Thanks for your feedback! I ended up playing the previous ones in all difficulties because I enjoyed them so much. But I indeed planned on starting in hard to enjoy the most of it on my first playthrough.
Have fun with all your games too, and get better soon!

@jfp Btw, have you played Gravity Circuit already? Another modern 8-bit game I remember enjoying immensely.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th May)

Yalloo

@JohnnyMind Hey there, I see you've finished AoI, can I ask what are your thoughts on it? It's comfortably sitting in my backlog and I'm very much looking forward to playing it. I loved the previous ones, how about you?

@jfp Thanks! I confirm these guys did a great job with everything. I'm having a blast ๐Ÿงก๐ŸŽฎ

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th May)

Yalloo

I'm playing Cyber Shadow atm, which I'm very much enjoying. I was quite disappointed with Berserk Boy and started this one with cautious expectations.
I've also noticed that there is an accomplishments list, so I'm sure to be busy with it for quite some time.

I've unlocked the lovely Yoshi theme in Tetris 99, ended up first on my first attempt ๐Ÿ˜Ž and going to participate in the weekend ritual in Tetris Effect: Connected as well.

Happy gaming! โœŒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿงก๐ŸŽฎ

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd May)

Yalloo

@Stockpot Hello, I hope you've been enjoying your games! I was just playing the Monument Valley trilogy, which I've enjoyed. Unfortunately in #3, chapter 7, the boat just won't go, the sail comes down and nothing happens anymore. It won't allow me to play the next chapters... have you encountered the same bug? Restarting the level doesn't change anything, and I'm wondering if restarting the whole game helps.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd May)

Yalloo

@FishyS Aha, yes, since I usually finish a game before moving away from it, I naively assumed everybody does the same! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Thanks for your feedback.
I will be getting Breakout Beyond, I played the original so many times, I'm very curious about it.

Bayonetta is certainly over-the-top and not for everyone. Always curious how people feel about it.

In regards to Tetris Effect, back when I started playing it, I was doing the Journey mode exclusively with headphones on. That was fine, but kind of a once-and-done experience.
I've since moved to playing the online modes, I'd like to unlock all of the avatars and get an S rank on all of the challenges. I'm not using headphones anymore and I'm actually not so fond of most of the music. Exception for the remix of the original theme!

I would normally only play rythm games with headphones, unless I'm in the train or there are people around me ..

Happy gaming! โœŒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿงก๐ŸŽฎ

Re: Devil May Cry 5 'Devil Hunter Edition' Has Been Rated For Switch 2

Yalloo

@Fizza Hey, have you played the Bayonetta games too? How does it compare? Really curious about DMC, but the 1-3 already available seem really too outdated for me to enjoy (especially the fixed camera angles).
And starting with 5, are there any story arcs / characters that would need to be looked up ahead of playing the game to not feel like "lost in translation"?
