This is a game that I would love to get into but I straight up can't fit it into my schedule. New games are always releasing and my timeslots for perpetual check-in games are full for the foreseeable future. The odd instance where I do have time to squeeze another game in, like during a lull in releases, I'm using it to dig into the PS5 back catalogue since I only just bought it this year.
Question: I'd like to try Sonic Frontiers, and I have both a Switch and a PS5. With the Switch sale in mind, would the convenience and portability for that price be worth it compared to the visuals and performance of the PS5 version? I'm not a FPS elitist in the slightest and don't notice 30 versus 60 unless they're side by side. But in general, how bad and laggy and choppy and ugly is the Switch version by comparison?
And I laughed and I laughed. They should've just leaned into it. Play test going live, if you're one of the lucky ones to get in then you'll help be an ambassador to demonstrate this exciting development!
Gotta hand it to the dude, he's improving the more he does the roles. His Wario is leagues better than that last Wario Ware game. Haven't heard his Luigi here yet but I think Mario sounds better than in Wonder.
I remember hearing about the game when it first came out but it was just a headline title I scrolled past. Apparently it's a bigger deal than I thought?
I was on the fence for a while, but I think I'll go for it. Online against randos while knocking back a few sounds like a fun way to spice up my Friday evenings.
I hate the price of this thing and I hate the fact I'm going to pay it anyway even more 😂 I'm sorry but I'm one of those obsessive fans and I need to have this.
This was the one I had at the end of system's life, and I really wish I hung on to my previous models because this one died on me. Battery stopped holding a charge completely and the shoulder buttons became totally unresponsive. Very sad 😢
@ozwally I'd argue that it would be the best way to wake up! The best alarms are the super irritating ones that force you to get your behind out of bed.
I think Nintendo should add a legal exhibit to their museum. C&Ds and affidavits on podiums behind glass, wax figures of their lawyers, and other fun stuff like that.
I enjoyed his series for a while but I admittedly fell off because it's in subtitles and I rarely just sit down to watch something; YouTube is more background noise while I do other things.
They're taking down all these projects, right, but I'm sure some users have just re-uploaded them to other websites and stuck them in some torrents or something. With some of those users continuing development out of spite. Things just aren't wiped off the internet, that's not how it works. It doesn't bother me, personally, I just find it amusing at times.
Zelda. I'm seeing people here talk about framerate and performance issues but I've encountered absolutely none of that so far and I'm exploring all over the map. I don't doubt that they're there, I just lack the attention to detail necessary to notice it.
I would like Nintendo to win this. I'm not invested in the case or anything and I ultimately don't care, it's just that it's the more amusing outcome to me personally.
Those rascals at Digital Foundry 😂 Someone has to pick the games apart, I suppose. I didn't notice any performance problems in my three playthroughs of Link's Awakening so I doubt I'll notice much of anything here. I'm really not that observant.
I'm getting the game day one so this doesn't matter a whole lot to me but still a cool idea. Nice little blast from the past. But of course, it's always the "have" provinces that get these events. Atlantic Canada is once again left in the corner and forgotten about 😔
I still play through Leaf Green on my SP every now and again. My most recent playthrough was a couple months ago where my team consisted of Pokémon I've never used before. Jynx total MVP btw
This is a great game and I'm really enjoying my time with it. I wouldn't say that it surpasses Wario Land, though. Like you said, it takes much of its inspiration from Wario Land 4, but 4 is second or third on my list, roughly on par with 3 but not nearly as good as 2.
It's a bit more difficult than I'd like, especially those boss fights. They really drag down the experience for me and I feel like I hit a wall whenever I'm ready to move on to the next world.
I also feel the game is almost too designed around speedrunning, because the feeling of being stopped when trying to go fast is very impactful. Egregiously so. I'm sure that's by design but the game just really wants you to go fast, so I feel compelled to, but I'm not super great at the controls so there are a lot of bonks, enemy collisions, and falls into the void.
All of this being said, the game is still really good and is a solid 8 for me. Levels are very creative, the visuals and music are distinct and highly amusing, and the gameplay never feels stale or gimmicky even though every level has a different gimmick or power-up. A very enjoyable experience.

Good enough for me, Switch version it is

@obijuankanoobie Oh that's right, there's a demo! I'll give it a spin then, thank you.

Hard up for cash, are they?
Re: Poll: Sonic X Shadow Generations Is Out This Week, Will You Be Getting It?
I'd rather buy it on Switch just for convenience so I'm waiting on reviews. If the game runs like garbage, then I will begrudgingly get it on PS5.

Re: These Mario Wonder Standees Won't Give You A Respawn Point, But They Will Tidy Your Desk
Get those things away from me, man. They just remind me of the horrible grind to buy them all for that 100% completion.
Re: Anniversary: 8 Years Since Nintendo Unveiled Switch, The World Awaits The Next Reveal
Remember guys, they said the Switch was in the middle of its life cycle in early 2022. 2027 will be here before you know it!

I didn't care for Gris so I'll pass on this. I am most assuredly not a fan of short, artful experiences 🤷♂️
Re: Talking Point: Just How Damaging Is This Big Pokémon Leak?
Kinda funny. Kinda sad. Kinda weird. Still gonna keep buying the games, though.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (12th October)
Picross S9 and F-Zero 99, that's about it. I need those shiny new decals.
Re: Can You Name These Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Enemies?
EZ 100%. I'm gonna guess that the same part of my brain responsible for rote memorization of all the Pokémon kicked into gear when playing this game.

Well that's sad, it's only states on this continent. Hopefully some journalists will manage to snag a spot so I can read some impressions.

Re: Talking Point: How Would You Fix Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Most Frustrating Feature?
A favourites tab would be great. More categories, too. Like elementals, aerial, usable underwater, stuff like that.

I sincerely haven't noticed a thing. I guess I don't pay close enough attention 🤷♂️

Eldin Ring sure would cause a lot of discussion, but a game like that really isn't for me. The FF7 games would be pretty cool, though.

Re: Pokémon Sleep Has Double The Number Of Monthly Users In Japan Than The US
I'd totally use it but I really don't like having to keep my phone active all night long. I'm sure the battery and cpu need an uninterrupted rest.
