Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host

TheBigK

Don't Xbox and PlayStation games have to be fully installed from the disc anyway? That's my understanding, and if so, this is no different in practice. Not that I'd buy a key cart because the primary reason I buy the odd physical game is to avoid eating up storage space. Although I'm mostly digital with the current Switch, I do plan on changing to mostly physical with the Switch 2 because those microSD express cards are just a tad bit pricey.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch Controllers Are Compatible With "Switch 2 Exclusive Games"

TheBigK

I searched for accessory compatibility on their website earlier today, actually. I'll have no money for any after the console itself, so I wanted to know if I could still use my pro controller for the time being. The sleep mode thing is weird but okay, I'll deal with it for now I guess. Also! The Switch 1 power adapter will still the charge Switch 2 one if you plug it in directly, but it can't be used to power the dock.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

TheBigK

I registered for the invitation thing but I'm gonna try to get a preorder at a retailer next week so I can get it on launch day. I am not hopeful. So I'll likely be waiting until May for the invitations to go out, and I'm thinking that even meeting the eligibility criteria won't guarantee one. So we'll see 🤷‍♂️

Re: Talking Point: Which Switch Game Needs A 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' The Most?

TheBigK

See I want to say Pokémon Scarlet and Violet but its problems aren't due to the Switch being unable to run it properly. It feels rushed, lacks polish, and it very poorly optimized for the hardware. The game itself needs to be built better.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 would be super dope to see get cranked up. And give me a 4K Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Increased horsepower might help the pop in, dropped frames, and slowdown in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well. My island has a lot of stuff set up and it gets pretty laggy when I run through the more densely populated areas.

Re: Anniversary: No, There's Absolutely No Way In Hell Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Five Today

I occasionally bounce off for a couple weeks, but I'm pretty consistent. I still play every day for the most part. Especially since I've started playing the stalk market and revamping my island with new areas and major layout changes. It still feels like the hot new thing to me! I am curious about what the next one will be like, but I imagine it's still a few years away. Which is totally fine, I have a ton to do already.

Re: Rumour: Latest Switch 2 Theory Suggests Release Date Might Be Right Around The Corner

TheBigK

Kit Ellis said he thinks that date is a bunch of baloney, especially that store opening malarkey. Yeah that makes sense, centre a worldwide product launch on the opening of a single store in a single city in a single country. Not even a single market, a single country within a single market. The US isn't the centre of the world. He used to work at Nintendo so I trust his opinion a bit more than some YouTube rando.

Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"

TheBigK

That's fine, I sold some things specifically for my Switch 2 fund and I can cover that fully. If it's closer to the low end, I'll be able to get a game, too, without having to use anything from my bank account.
