I like the hardware very much but I think it’s been pretty disappointing on the games front.

When I bought it, I knew it wasn’t going to have a top tier app but I also knew that eventually we will get a new Mario and new Zelda so it would be worth having. Also, with the rising costs of everything, it didn’t seem worth waiting in case they raise the price.

Never been a huge fan of Metroid. I would’ve picked this up if it had been 9s and 10s across the board, but the middling-good reviews weren’t enough to push me over the edge.

Nice. I’ve never played this and I’ve been looking for something along these lines for when I finish Hogwarts legacy. I almost picked up SW Outlaws but decided to wait for a bigger discount.

It’s currently on sale on PS for about £3 but I really wanted something to play on my switch 2.

Shame you can't carry progress over, but I'll give the demo a whirl and decide whether to pick it up on sale.

Ghost of yotei and chained echoes.

I played the demo and enjoyed it but never took the plunge. I'll wait for a sale.

No. I might pick them up at some point down the line but I feel like the price is a bit over the top for such old games. Currently playing ghost of yotei which is fantastic.

Loved the demo but I’m waiting for a sale. Too many other games to play and the price is a bit steep for me on release.

I’ve upgraded the needle but still can’t get past the first four-five waves.

Hit a wall with silksong. Stuck on the gauntlet in high halls, so I’ve been playing octopath traveller 2 to decompress.

I’m ill so ot2 will be my main this weekend.

Loved the trails demo but couldn’t justify the cost so bought octopath traveller 2 on sale (steam deck) instead.

I’ll def pick it up as soon as it goes on sale though.

Silksong. I swear this game is going to break me.

Firstly, the game is amazing.
Secondly, it’s hard as f*ck.
It’s arguably too difficult. Sure, you can take multiple paths but all of them lead to platforming hell, a tough as nails boss, or a gauntlet room. I am constantly stuck.

I think my answer for the next few weeks will be silksong. I'm still in act 1 after 30 hours. This game is HARD. It might be the hardest game I've ever played and I've completed all the From Software games.

There's another trick bench that was way worse for me…

Anything Zelda would make me very happy - twilight princess hd perhaps?

I'd actually like Nintendo to unlock some old switch games so they look and run better - xenoblade and three houses in particular.

But mostly I'm hoping for some new games and surprises.

he game is definitely very hard - harder than hollow knight. I'm kind of enjoying the struggle but I think they've made some annoying choices this time around. The bosses spawnining minions feels a bit cheap.
Saying that, I'm loving the game. This would be a lock for my GoTY if Clair obscure hadn't come out this year.

Silksong. Im not sure if the difficulty is just brutal or if I need to explore more.

I'm currently downloading it whilst sitting in an Asda cafe because I've been out hiking in wales. Its a long, slow process on terribly slow supermarket wifi 😂

I'm away in wales at the moment. Just hoping I can find a coffee shop with high speed internet to download it at 3pm!

@PikaPhantom oh, i do blame Nintendo! I'm sure I’ll enjoy most of the first party Nintendo games, as and when they come out, but its hard to deny that they've thoroughly botched this launch.

Really disappointed with switch 2 performance for third party games so far. Looks like it really will just be my Mario and Zelda machine.

I'm excited to play it and will be downloading as soon as it goes live. Hollow knight is one of a handful of games I've completed multiple times. (from software games, BG3 and a handful of snes games) .

I don't know if I'll fall for silksong in the same way. There's something about the little hollow knight dude and the was he pootles around that I loved. Hornet seems much more agile. I'm sure I'm going to enjoy playing it either way.

Replaying hollow knight in preparation for silksong but also dabbling with AC Valhalla on ps5

I've beaten it twice but have started a fresh run in anticipation. I don't know if I'll finish it this time but its been good to dive back into that world.

I really like my original sn30 pro and am considering this as an upgrade even though I don’t use it very often. Love a nice bit of tech!

I’m a big fan of retro styled games but only as far back as 16bit in general. I lived through NES graphics in real time.

Come on Nintendo…

I finished DK bananza last night so will be going back to metaphor refantazio on ps5 and finally playing halo for the first time on steam deck.

DK was fantastic - 9/10 but now it’s finished I don’t see the switch 2 getting much use. Nintendo really need to announce some games for this shiny new desk tidy.

Down in Devon this weekend for a friends wedding so I’ve not been playing DK bonanza. I’ve been dipping into my first professor Layton game (curious village) and solving puzzles with my wife which has been a lot of fun.

I’m only halfway through (I think! Ice level). I wasn’t too sure when I first started playing as the camera and map both felt very janky, but now I’m used to it I’m thoroughly engrossed. I’ve voted 9/10 but there’s potential for it to move up or down one point by the end.

I’m prone to motion sickness but it’s usually first person games. I’ve not had problems with this but I can see why people are struggling. The camera angle is very narrow at times.

DK Bonanza on switch and metaphor refantazio on ps5. Such a good combo!

I’ve barely touched my switch 2. Looking forward to having something to play on it!

Whilst it’s not doing anything particularly new, I really like the hardware. It’s a shame mine isn’t getting much use because there’s no five star games to make me excited to pick it up.

I always knew I was investing in future games but I’m still feeling a bit impatient.

Cyberpunk (on ps5) and flitting between games on switch 2. I’m slowly working my way through echoes of wisdom, fantasy life i and am considering picking up shin megami V whilst it’s on sale.

Yeah… they need a big direct with some games to get excited about…

I bought my switch 2 knowing there wasn’t many games but safe in the knowledge that we’ll get amazing Mario and Zelda games at some point. I’m happy with the device but the only games from this list I have any interest in are DK and Duskbloods. Most of the others I’ll buy cheaper elsewhere (and probably get better performance)

It’s probably BoTW for me. Switch 2 has dragged me straight back in. After ToTK I thought it would be hard to go back to, but when presented with both upgraded games it was BoTW that I chose and I’m loving it.

I so nearly bought cyberpunk on switch 2 but ended up getting it on ps5 for the best graphical experience. I’m enjoying it.

Also playing the odd knockout race in Mario kart and slowly working my way through echoes of wisdom which hasn’t fully captured me thus far.

Fantasy life i, echoes of wisdom, the occasional knockout tour on Mario kart and dabbling in cyberpunk on steam deck (so tempted to pick this up for switch despite not having got very far on steam deck)

A couple of days ago I said I wanted the direct to show me that this game was a 9/10 rather than a 7/10

I’m hoping to see something that makes this look more like a 9/10 than a 7/10

When I spend hundreds of pounds on a device with a beautiful screen the last thing I want to do is put a crappy screen protector on it (also I’m terrible at it and always get bubbles). I try to be careful but ultimately if I end up with a couple of little marks on the screen I can live with that.

I have pretty much only played knockout tour. That mode is the highlight of the game by a wide margin.

I’m really hoping this game is an absolute banger. The switch 2 needs a big first party game to blow everyone away. I like Mario kart but I’m after a single player game with some Nintendo magic.

Spent all day yesterday playing Mario kart world with a friend who came to visit. It was a lot of fun, but I doubt I’ll spend tons of time on it alone. Today is going to be a mix of echoes of wisdom and fantasy life I which I’ve just bought on a whim.

Switch 2 is waiting for me when I get back from my holiday. I will play Mario kart, welcome tour, sparks of hope and echoes of wisdom.
