No FOV slider is so frustrating! I get terrible motion sickness with first person games

I’m on holiday when mine is due to be delivered so it will be sitting in my neighbour’s house until I get home.

This is a form of torture.

Once I return I’ll be playing Mario kart because that’s the only game I’ve ordered, but I’ve also been saving echoes of wisdom to play with hopefully upgraded frame rates.

I’ve just bought this on sale for £19.99 on steam deck. I’m already starting to regret that decision, but I just wasn’t willing to pay £60 for a game that I can get for £20

To be honest I’ve barely touched my switch in a couple of years. It got an airing when I got ring fit for Xmas but that didn’t really stick.

I bought echoes of wisdom on release, but I’ve been saving that for switch 2.

Add an FOV slider and I’m in day 1. It’s unlikely though as it’s not on any other console versions.

I won’t be buying many games for switch 2 with current pricing. It’ll just be the big first party games that I’m interested in I.e. Zelda and Mario

I assume the original pro controller will work with switch 2? As long as it does I won’t be buying any accessories.

I’ll just sell my switch privately once I get the switch 2. Left joy con is drifting though so doubt I’ll get much for it.

Having both a switch 2 and a steam deck feels a little indulgent and I’ve been tempted to sell my SD since pre ordering the switch 2, but it’s hard to beat the steam library and sales.

I know cyberpunk is going to be full price (or near enough) on switch and probably won’t have FOV slider. I can pick that up for £20 on steam deck and know it won’t make me want to puke. I also use the steam deck for PS remote play and the switch won’t let me do that.

TLDR: I’m an indulgent git and am hoarding devices but I feel a bit guilty about it.

Im seriously considering selling my steam deck. Its just so much better for affordable games though….

Looking at that list it’s hard to argue against the switch 2…

However, for me personally, there’s a lack of games I’m super excited about. I can play all the third party stuff elsewhere (for cheaper) and there’s no big single player adventure game to get stuck into.

I've enjoyed my steam deck since I bought it last summer. In wondering if the switch 2 could become the best place to play crpgs now simply because of the mouse controls on the new joycon.

I've preordered the Mario kart bundle. The games are too expensive so ill be very selective and will stick to Nintendo first party and exclusives this generation.

I'll wait for reviews on metroid and donkey kong.

Third party ill just get on steam deck or ps5 for far less money.

Preordered from Very with Mario kart. I might cancel nearer the time. It’s a lot of money and the launch line up isn’t that exciting. I was hoping for a new Mario platformer ideally. I knew it was too soon for Zelda.

DQ11 for me this weekend. I played the demo when it came out, but never bought it until now. Fantastic so far!

I saved my birthday money and bought this on release. I had a VHS tape documentary/preview about it that came with one of the gaming magazines before it came out and was absolutely blown away by the graphics - I’d never seen anything like it before.

In the early 2000s I used to write reviews for a now defunct website and I reviewed this game for my application.

Needless to say I have a soft spot for DKC and give back to it regularly. Its one of my all time favourites.

I would say anything prior to modern day graphics/control systems, which I think started during the PS3 era.

My gut reaction was SMB3 but I actually think Odyssey might have topped it.

Finally finished TOTK with approx 125hrs play time. It’s an absolute masterpiece.

Just started Metroid prime which I’m really enjoying but am getting a little frustrated with at times due to some heavy backtracking through the same areas.

ToTK. 35 hours in and I’ve achieved very little other than exploration. Finally reached Rito village so probably heading towards my first dungeon.

25+ hours in ten days. That’s an entire, complete day spent playing this game. I was a little shocked when I saw that…

I regret nothing.

TOTK. I am achieving nothing in real life nor in Hyrule. Too busy being distracted by things I see in the distance.

Zelda of course. Switch is finally getting some play time again.

Pre-ordered from Currys. Just hoping it arrives day one…

Bloodstained: ritual of the night which has yet to hook me so far. After finishing aria of sorrow it feels a bit janky and unresponsive.

Must not buy Metroid dread…

Coming towards the end of Aria of Sorrow and have really enjoyed it

I’m doing my best to not buy Metroid Dread as I have too many other games to play and I’ll wait until I can pick it up for less than RRP.

Resident Evil 2 remake and symphony of the night on PS5

I’m 12-15 hours into skyward sword. I’m enjoying it and really like the world and puzzles but the control scheme is hindering my enjoyment some what. It’s the first Zelda game I haven’t just wanted to binge since I got into the series seriously after BoTW

Skyward sword HD. First time playing and I’m enjoying it other than the slow start and slightly janky controls

Down in Devon enjoying the sunshine. In the evenings I’ve been slowly working my way through dark souls on switch. I’ve just ordered ratchet and Clank for PS5 so that should be waiting when I get home on Monday

I just play for fun and enjoyment and don’t compare myself to others or even pay attention to what they’re doing - I don’t check trophies/achievements and have no idea how many I have.

I have beat all the From Software games (except Sekiro) and loved the challenge but they all took me a lot of hours to beat (more than average I’m sure)

I’m away this week so will be taking my switch and will probably carry on my playthrough of Dark Souls

I’ve gone back for another play through of dark souls on switch but after playing it on PS5 it feels like it’s in slow motion. I’m away for a couple of days so I’ll persevere but can’t see myself getting all the way through

As a massive DKC fan I’m very tempted by Kaze so might pick that up but I’m quite busy at the moment getting destroyed by a fat water slug in Nioh on PS5

Switch was my favourite ever console for the first couple of years and got me back into gaming after years away.

However... it’s falling down the rankings because there’s no first party games. If it can bolster its roster it will prob hold top spot but that’s looking less likely as the years go on.

Nothing on switch but I am tempted to pick up ring fit adventure

Happy for skyward sword as I’ve not played it but other than that nothing to entice me to pick up my Switch again

About time!! Give me a reason to pick up my switch again. It’s been dormant for almost a year. I’ve crossed to the dark side (PlayStation)

I really wish Nintendo would pull their fingers out and release some games for Switch. It was the console that pulled me back into gaming after years away and possibly my favourite console ever for the first 1-2 years of its life but lack of Nintendo games has meant its sitting neglected and gathering dust

Tried the monster hunter demo for about ten mins but I didn’t really get it or the controls so back to Dark Souls Remastered but on PS4

I loved the dizzy game I played as a kid, I remember thinking how clever and interesting it was with loads of exploration and backtracking. I can’t remember the name but it was set in a fairy tale and there were knights and a dragon etc

@Friendly playing on WiFi. Very close to the router - maybe 10 feet away. It’s a fairly decent router (probably 2 years old)

I don’t know exactly what spec it all is but for it to work well for the majority of people you’d expect my setup to be adequate

I tried to play control on graphics mode and it was completely unplayable.

I have 60Mbps fibre

I’m Feeling crap so plan on curling up on the sofa playing Hades on switch and ghost of Tsushima on PS4 - both great in different ways
