Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

Samuel-Flutter

I'm getting close to 550 physical Switch Games. Most not at full price, mind you, but not typically used. I've been collecting since the switch came out, which puts me at about 68 games a year and a little over 5 games a month. Now that I type this all out, I realize I will probably never be able to complete my backlog. But the only Switch 2 games I've bought have been Mario Kart World and Bananza.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give 'Kirby & The Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World'?

Samuel-Flutter

I usually never vote in these polls because I haven't finished the game when they're posted. I said 8/10, because ultimately it's more of the amazing fun that the original was, but a much shorter and more compact experience. 12 full levels, plus a boss, and a new boss rush is well worth the price. I only wish they added new challenge levels for the new Mouthful modes.

Re: Opinion: We Really Don't Need A Donkey Kong Timeline

Here's the deal. In a game series where Villains and/or heroes have gone back in time to team up with their baby versions, and regularly bring those said baby versions to play sports or race karts, I don't think time line placement matters too much. At this point, I'm convinced that the Mario characters are 4th dimensional beings that can freely move through time at will.

Re: Talking Point: Which Games Were Just The Perfect Length?

Samuel-Flutter

Chrono Trigger is the perfect length. It's deceptively short, as you feel like it's so much longer than what you played it for. That's not to say it's boring, but rather it packs so much content in a short time frame that you never have a chance to get bored.

Edit: Shout out to Shadow of the Colossus for similar pacing.

Re: Poll: Do You Want Weapon Degradation To Return In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Durability encouraged creativity and strategy in combat. When you started you didn't have the weapons to spare. Eventually you'd have plenty of weapons, but when you came to an enemy camp, you'd want to minimize the deterioration of the good weapons you had collected. If weapons had no durability, you would probably just run in swinging.

Also I said the ability to repair weapons, but if we got other weapons that didn't break, that mimicked the items of the other games (hookshot etc) I would be down for that. I mean I always kept a leaf on me, just because the never broke unless you hit something with it and it had interesting applications.

Re: Poll: What Was The Best Wii U Launch Game?

Samuel-Flutter

I only had Nintendo Land for the first month or so of the Wii U's life. It was such a good game. The multiplayer games were great, but even the single player games had some replayability. The Donkey Kong level was the best.

After that probably Batman. New Super Mario Bros U was really good too.
