@Bensei That's fair with Lucas. It's just weird seeing them in the 64 version. I understand why they were implemented, but it's just weird in retrospect.
@MegaVel91 There will no doubt be unlockable characters probably such as Impa and the King of Hyrule (or maybe even Link's family that was cut from the final game), but Kass is definitely not going to be in it. His master would make me happy to play as.
This mod looks really cool, but probably I find the most interesting thing about it is the characters they added. Lucas and Dark Samus didn't exist when Smash 64 released.
@Daniel36 Yeah I had been considering picking it up until I found this out. That's the whole point of playing a game co-op is advancing the game together.
@MeowMeowKins Oh no I'm not mad at him. I'm just stumped at where the missing pieces could have gone. I've searched the whole house and can't find them. I can order pieces off of LEGO's website, except for any pieces that have printing on them like the barcode.
"Super Mario RPG on the SNES has a passing reference to Luigi, and he features in the instruction manual, but otherwise you won’t find him in the game."
He actually leads the parade in the end credits. Does the same in Paper Mario 64 as well.
I wonder if it was backlash from Super Paper Mario's characters? It's definitely a shame, but they do differentiate the Toads fairly well with the dialogue.
I like all of the Paper Mario games. Lowest point for me was Super, not because it was bad, but because it was boring. Color Splash is really good though and improved a lot on Sticker Star, which I would put slightly above Super. All in all, I can't wait to play the Origami King.
I honestly didn't expect (but was hopeful that) this would have local multiplayer on one system. So the news that you have to be connected online, while weird, didn't affect my buying choice. But the crossplay with the lite version on mobile definitely has affected it. I'm now leaning towards getting it, since I won't have to buy more Switches.
@doctorhino "that people enjoyed those games despite the combat being dull so this game should be enjoyable the same way"
Yeah, basically that was it. People can definitely find this game enjoyable, even if combat is a slog. Granted not necessarily everyone will, but it definitely seems like the reviewer did.
@doctorhino I did say Old didn't I? The RPGs you listed were from the last few years. I was talking about NES RPGs like the original Final Fantasy. They were generally weren't played for their combat.
@doctorhino You literally just described all old RPGs. They were usually just a menu selection that you got through to enjoy the story. Not saying you can't enjoy it, but it doesn't help.
@jtmnm Yeah I get that. If I'm not having fun with a game I usually stop. But there's a lot of times in D&D when you just gotta get through the rough bits to have fun again.
@jtmnm "How is an 8/10 justified if central gameplay elements like battles are admitted to be "a slog" and "an unnecessary gimmick"? It seems far too significant of a flaw to paint (or throw confetti) over."
It's probably like D&D. The battles are generally a slog to get through, and can sometimes be unnecessary, and most of D&D's mechanics are based off of the battle system. But it can be incredibly fun if you have a good story behind the tedium.
This looks so cool, but way too expensive for my budget. I mean it is 2646 pieces with some special bricks, so it's pretty par the course as LEGO goes.
Honestly this Direct would be terrible. I don't mind rereleases, but the only new game they "showed off" was Metroid Prime 4 and there was no gameplay and released next year. If we didn't already know Nintendo was working on it, it would have been exciting, but it just seemed pointless at this time.
It's a decent game. I imported a standard edition from Japan (didn't want extra goodies) and beat it a couple of days ago. It plays more like a card game than an RPG, but the music is amazing.
This is perfect! My toddler struggles with brushing his teeth. He can, he just loses focus. But if he had Charmander there to encourage him, I feel he would definitely improve.
@RazumikhinPG According to Project Update #30, they said, "Our current estimate for the start of shipping rewards is late June," followed by, "Due to the effects of COVID-19 on production on distribution, the retail release date of The Wonderful 101: Remastered has been pushed back, to June 30th for the US version package release, and July 3rd for the EU version package release." They did say that they "may receive it after" beforehand, but I suppose that depends on the post.
@RazumikhinPG I thought they pushed back the release date for the the physical copies along with the backer's copies. I'm pretty sure one update confirmed it as such.
Oh? I just got the regular edition from Japan last week. I didn't care for all the NIS extras and it didn't look like they were going to release a regular edition.
Actually Bravely Default already has a phone game: Bravely Default Fairy's Effect. It's set 8000 years after the first game. I believe it only released in Japan.
Wait I'm confused. Is there a way to play the impossible lair normally? Or is it just checkpoints or no bee shield?
I don't mind toning down the difficulty, since it's really challenging, but I did have fun completing it without the checkpoints. I'd hate for that mode to be lost.
I'm honestly surprised that people are complaining. I get that not everyone can be the island representative, but I didn't complain that I wasn't the mayor in New Leaf. I just worked with my wife to get everything taken care of.
I just saw this movie and it was actually really good. I was impressed with how much I liked it. If you're a fan of Sonic, it definitely worth checking out.

Kinda sad it won't have Kass, but I'll definitely be picking this up.

Just an FYI, the caption for the article reads, "And Platinum, for for that matter".

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #58 - Super Mario All-Stars
I always wondered where the Wii boxart came from. I thought it was something made for the rerelease of it honestly.
Re: You Can Now Pre-Order A Darksiders Genesis Steelbook Case Without A Game Inside
I mean I've seen people make their own cases for games they downloaded, so maybe this is for them?
Re: Feature: All The Paper Mario Games, Ranked By You
Man the user scores for Sticker Star and Color Splash are really undersold. They deserve slightly better than what they received.

Re: Random: Turns Out You Can Play LEGO Mario Without Buying The LEGO
I'm gonna need the Bowser Jr. code, since somehow my kid lost half the pieces to him. I don't even have a clue how that is possible.

Re: Red And Green Voted Most Popular Pokémon Games In Japanese Poll
Probably Black and White for me. Storyline was the best in that game.
Re: Poll: No, Really, What Was Nintendo's Worst Year?
@KingBowser86 That's a fair point. I had forgotten about the Phillip's games.
Re: Poll: No, Really, What Was Nintendo's Worst Year?
@KingBowser86 See I went with 2004 from the same list, only because Nintendo wasn't getting as much 3rd party support then.
Re: Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase Airs Later Today
Well this is better than no news. I'm going to be tuning in.

My 4 year old got a 6 out of 8. Probably helps we read a chapter of the Super Mario Adventures comic before bed.

Europe's not bad, but the North American art is way more dynamic. The hidden Bulborb is a nice touch though.
