I'll probably wind up getting this game, since I can buy it with the amiibo scanner. It looks decent, and my wife will probably like it. It looks like a decent world builder game. I've always wanted a great town, but was never able to invest too much time in it.
Question though. Are you able to customize the environment? Like where the stream and waterfalls go and what not?
I always hate the levels where you have to find a hidden block, with no indications, in order to win. I'll definitely try this out though, because I love brainteasers.
I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do. Kimishima looks like he'll have a more Western approach. I just wonder who will do the Directs. He looks more serious than Iwata, but looks can be deceiving. So we'll just have to see. He looks like he could be a fun uncle if we could give him a chance.
@TheActualGold It could be Redshift and Blueshift, since the middle is white. Perhaps Zygarde's Perfect Cell form is moving so fast that's the colors we perceive?
@JoseAcosta You need to check it out. It's an incredible piece of work. Introduced me to several games, one was Star Fox. You can easily find a PDF using a quick google search.
@Darknyht I don't know why they couldn't rework it to use Wiimotes instead. Point for the mouse A and B for the buttons. Although I hated using Wiimotes for pixel art in Animal Crossing City Folk. Maybe utilize the Gamepad's touch screen somehow?
I loved the Strategy Guide (?) for this game. Gave you references for other Super Nintendo artwork. It was a blast. Also had some neat pixel art in and of itself.
@CatMarioTime That was my biggest complaint against Super Mario Galaxy 2 - the Green Stars. I really had to force myself to go back and finish it. I mean it was worth it for those final levels, but it was annoying.
@rjejr That's the last that I heard said. They really haven't brought it up since then. But Nintendo has been relatively quiet since Iwata's passing. It should come out with the Animal Crossing amiibo figures, but I'm not sure if those are dated yet either.
@Ichiban I just got done beating Toki Tori 2+, so I'm on a Metroidvania high; I have to say, if there was a Mariovania game, I would play the heck out of that game.
This game is how I fell for my wife. I had some friends come over to the dorm, because they wanted to play the Wii. Some girls came with, and they started playing Mario Kart. I left the room, and when I came back, one girl was thrashing all of my friends - and using the motion controls, a feat I thought impossible. She later raced against me and kicked my tail using the Wii wheel again, which is no small feat since I had plenty of experience unlocking everything in the game.It was in those moments that she set sparks on my wheels, and in my heart. Now we play Mario Kart 8 together and she still beats me.
I hated collecting those 100 coin stars. They were always frustrating. Exploring the inside of Peach's castle was an amazing experience when I first booted the system up. I loved just running around and wall jumping around everywhere. Truly an amazing experience.
It's not my favorite Mario Game, but I did beat it over the Thanksgiving Break it was released. It was very addictive. I just didn't like going back with Luigi to redo everything. Apart from that, it was amazing.
This is what I came out of my Internet free cave for? That's it, I'm going back in.
Super Mario World is the very first video game I can remember playing (though my parents did have a ColecoVision). This and Zelda aLttP will probably always stand at the top of my favorite games list. That said I can appreciate how technologically superior the newer games are, and the advancements that older games have brought.
@BulkSlash Some of those levels did have hidden Mini Mushrooms, if I'm not mistaken. Also couldn't you store a Mini Mushroom if you already had a Mini Mushroom? I thought you could, but it's honestly been so long since I played it.
Ah yes. The first game I played on the DS. I always did hate that thumb strap. I hear this plays much better on the 3DS with the circle pad. I did manage to beat it though, but for the sake of nostalgia I did prefer the original. I do hope this is ported to the virtual console, since my brother has the copy I played.
@Lord First of all, Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer is selling fairly well in Japan, so I don't know if that is a terrible game or not. Secondly It kinda seems to me that the games you listed that were terrible are just games in genres you don't enjoy. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad game. Except that amiibo tap. It's not even a real game, just glorified demos.
@Takerkaneanite6 I would definitely recommend it. Some would argue that it's the worst 3D Mario, but being the worst 3D Mario is still an amazing game. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The levels are more open and spread out like Mario 64, which I preferred over the linear style of Mario Galaxy. It was probably my favorite GameCube game.
@rjejr I would like to know that too. It would save me the walk over. I also have to agree, I can't seem to win anything in Splat Zone, so I generally get frustrated, but Rainmaker is generally fun wether I win or lose.
I can remember fighting my way to Giga Bowser only to get pummeled. I eventually got it and was so proud. Later I was showing my friend. I got to the end without losing a life and let him fight against Bowser. He had no idea about Giga Bowser. After beating regular Bowser, when Giga showed up he was so terrified he ran to the left to commit suicide. But Giga Bowser beat him to it with a Bowser bomb off the side. I don't know if I was angry that my friend won so easy, or laughing hysterically at what had transpired. It was good times.
Also same friend lost his save data, so I unlocked all the characters for him in one night. Happened again the next week, and that's when I realized I could've just copied my save data.
I'm all for amiibo integration into Indie titles. It would tempt me into buying some games more, but I have to agree with @ninty4thewin - I would rather have more uses for the amiibo I already own. But that's a whole other kettle of fish.
I enjoyed the story mode to the handheld Mario Sports games. It made the solo nature of the experience better. Plus you were able to transfer yrou characters over and play with them on the 64 if memory serves.
@Pandaman I'm honestly not sure what they came in, I think it was a Pokemon binder, but I could be mistaken. It was really weird, because my older brother entered too and won a first place prize. I just assumed no one else entered.
@Pandaman I actually won the entire base and jungle sets from a contest on WB. Then I was an idiot and used them in a deck and bent the cards all up. So much for collectables.
Does anyone else think it's weird that singing has a normal mouth, while dancing has an Inkling dancing? Shouldn't singing have those weird squid teeth?
This was the very first game I played. It was Mario World and A Link to the Past that made me Nintendo fans. That being said, I can't help but notice the first screenshot isn't from Super Mario World. Goombas weren't in the game, just Galoombas.
This was the very first RPG I played, and it hooked me on the genre. I was attracted to it by the 3D rendered sprites, my little mind couldn't handle the awesome that was "3d Mario". So when I saw this in Toys R Us, I saved until I could buy it. I'm just glad I stuck with it, because it opened me up to a brand new genre.
In retrospect though, most RPGs fail to hook me the same way. I believe it has to do with timed hits. It made the battles more interactive. Which is generally why I enjoy RPGs with little twists to battle mechanics. Legend of Dragoon, Paper Mario, Tales of Symphonia, Mario and Luigi, etc... Not to say traditional isn't bad, after all Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time. But I suppose the ATB gauge works in that sense.
Rainmaker is my favorite ranked mode by far. I'm not going to lie, I had forgotten the update was happening and when the squid sisters announced the mode while playing I immediately tried it out. I was the first to get the rainmaker, and had no idea what I was suppose to do. So sorry if anyone was one my team.
@crzysortagamer Well Metroid Federation Force will answer that need for a 3DS online Metroid Shooter. As for well populated, that remains to be seen.
@FX29 The gameplay of Other M really sold the game to me. Metroid is just as much platforming as it is Shooter. While I liked the Prime games, I thought Other M had better gameplay. If the used a 3rd person control set up similar to Splatoon, I believe they could make an amazing 3rd Person 3D Metroid.

Re: Video: This Laparoscopic Wii U Controller is Teaching Medical Students to Perform Keyhole Surgery
I want that controller so badly. I'm taking medical classes at the moment, but laproscopic surgery on my Wii U would be so cool.
Re: Review: Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Wii U eShop / GBA)
I loved this game. I beat it 100 percent back when we took a road trip to Washington. I picked it up on my 3DS now and wonder how I managed that.
