Just recently we reported that three costume sets for Hyrule Warriors had become available on the Wii U eShop in Europe, in addition to the main packs that have already arrived. These had been pre-order or Club Nintendo bonuses, and were particularly prominent in retailer-specific deals in North America. The good news for NA gamers is that the same sets are now all available on the Wii U eShop in the region, allowing for costume collections to be completed.
The available sets are below, all costing $0.99.
- Demon King Costume Set
- Twilight Princess Costume Set
- Skyward Sword Costume Set
- Ocarina of Time Costume Set
As mentioned in the previous post for the release of this DLC in Europe, we should remember that there are more content packs on the way in early 2015.
- Majora's Mask Pack — January 2015 — New playable characters, weapons, Adventure Mode map and costumes
- Boss Pack — February 2015 — New game modes
Are any of you in North America planning to grab these costume sets?

This game is full of content, I can't even scrach the surface!
Mine.
I just hope that Majora is the next playable character.
@Frank90 I agree! Just as soon as I start to make progress toward finishing it, they release tons more content. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Yes! All the DLC Costumes are mine! Mwhahahaha!
Fun + Content = Best Wii-u Game, EASILY!
Yay!
Are the $1 sets on-disc DLC or is there a higher download size associated with these? I only ask because the eShop page specifies that they are only a few kilobytes in size (meaning that the "DLC" is likely to be a means of unlocking content already stored on the disc). This isn't always the case, such as the Mario Kart 8 DLC, but I'm a tad suspicious of this.
Now if I had Wii U storage, I'd be getting this right now...
I was trying to think of a way to spend my last few eShop dollars. Now I know what I'll do with 'em.
@sillygostly
I don't think that they are on disk unlocks but I'm not sure. The file sizes would be very small anyway because they are just skins.
When I preordered I could only get the Ocarina costumes but now I've finally got the Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess costumes that I really wanted.
@sillygostly They aren't on disc DLC. The title updates add new content to the game and then the DLC purchase unlocks it.
@sillygostly if you enjoy the content, why does it matter? Nothing to be suspicious about homie. Just enjoy!
Hyrule Warriors is my game of the year, that's for sure.
I do love MK 8 & SSB though
Still haven't got the season pass yet, but have enough eShop cred to get the other two pre order costumes.... now if only I was online 24/7 I'd buy'em now.
@sillygostly If it was on disc DLC, then there would be 0KB to download.
...Too many games, need to get back into this one, but...Smash and Bayonetta. TwT
they should sell in groups of two instead of three, i mean, Link costume set and Zelda costume set per 0.99 $ each.
@sillygostly Mario Kart 8 content was new tracks and everything where as these are just skins. It is like if you went to take your car to get a pain job, you are only needing to redo a apply a fraction of what your car is.
Run that.
only had demon set, the rest are now mine. look nice next to my 18 amiibo. time to check my daily rewards from five amiibo.
@ThomasBW84 Dude! Aloe Blacc! Noice.
Edit: For those of you that are puzzled... http://youtu.be/nFZP8zQ5kzk
@Wes880 Great song!
@Pahvi
Yep, that's exactly how it works. They put out a new update and the DLC comes with that, you just buy a key.
I wonder what the next update will bring. Surely new medals for MM map, but hopefully some other changes are made.
@Discipledoctor I'm very intrigued by the Majora's Mask pack too simply because there's virtually nothing in common between that game and what's already in Hyrule Warriors except a few full franchise common enemies and OoT Link's appearance.
I preordered Hyrule Warriors from Best Buy and didn't get a Skyward Sword costume set.... I looked on the website and it said the DLC pack was for preordering between like August 6 or something and September 25/26 (Release date). I preordered it on like August 3. Why don't I get DLC, Best Buy? For preordering too early?...
@Grumblevolcano
I think they might use it as an opportunity to get some crazier ideas into the mix. I mean, Agitha made it in, I'd be willing to bet we're going to see the Happy Mask Salesman.
Sell the Link costumes seperately from the Zelda costumes?
Honestly, I wouldn't want to pay more (they would charge more, don't kid yourself) to not get Zelda's best costume and still have to pay for that terribly low res Ocarina skin.
This way, people get to play as their favorite character from their favorite Zelda game. I prefer the Twilight Princess Link, but to have both Skyward Sword costumes and no motion controls? Great idea.
Saw this today and I got the SS pack and the season pass. Thanks NOA.
I have to admit, that is very affordable!
Great deal. LOL at the people who bought the Skyward Sword codes at launch for $40+
Who cares if this is on-disc DLC, it would make sense as they were available at launch for those that pre-ordered the game.
Does this mean that busy, humble gamers like me who were away on business (or vacation) during preorder or launch day periods are able to pick up the special preorder store costumes for only a dollar?
Yes! Skyward Sword Zelda is mine!
An other reason is to wait for games like these. I'm sure later on the new release of the retail they will include the DLC in it as well. I'll be patient. Nuff said
@AmyGrrl
Im with u on that looool
@sinalefa yes it is awesome u cant beat that at all
I might buy both the ones I'm missing and the DLC tomorrow...
Sweet, I was enraged after the last NA eshop update.
I've always wondered why Twilight Princess has been getting the most focus in these DLC packs when Skyward Sword is the latest game. I mean the TP versions are even in the front.
I got Hyrule Warriors and I beat the main story in like two days but there's just masses of content left!
I would love to see a sequel that adds more battlefield command aspects using the gamepad. I'd love to be able to order groups of troops so vacate their keeps and attack or defend areas of the map, outposts, keeps, or key characters that I select. Maybe add more unit types like infantry, archers, cavalry, that are strong/weak against other types and maybe add some proper seige gameplay with catapaults (I know the current game kinda splashes some of that here and there), battering rams, etc.
I love Hyrule Warriors but I'd also love for Nintendo and Team Ninja to take it further and make a sequel that's the Melee to the original Smash Bros.
I bet the guy who bought my SS preorder code for $25 is pretty salty right now. Lol! Impatient people are wonderful.
@URAmk2 Somebody really did that? LMFAO... I would of just pre-ordered from the correct stores then sell the 1 or 2 extra copys.
@TeeJay Probably sales and the twilight fits well with what they were trying to do. Twilight Princess only had less sales than Ocarina of Time and the original NES game and that's even when ignoring the GC version of TP. In addition the fact Link transforms into a wolf when he enters the twilight, the gameplay is different as well as him being weaker and doesn't have access to items translates well to the "twilight rules" in the adventure map.
I haven't got far enough in Skyward Sword but from what I've seen so far has nothing that can compare to this.
