Shame “All is One”‘ isn’t in there. Still, that’s a pretty good set of songs though I wish they put one or two more in there with it being a numbered entry and all.
I don’t think this totally discredits a September Direct later down the line. I think there was a Xenoblade 3 direct that was followed up with a general one not that long after.
I am curious what they can talk 15 minutes about a 2D Mario game.
I think everything has a pretty good shot. This was a real good year for games and I’m hoping Starfield does enough to warrant its position for nomination.
Beat Final Fantasy 16 a bit ago and it’s good. Story was alright and it’s BARELY an RPG, but the combat does save it. The end game hunts in particular are a blast to fight through and the game ended pretty strongly I feel.
Probably won’t play much else but Remnant 2 is around the corner so I’ll dive into that when it comes out.
Still making my way through FF16, doing whatever hunt and side quest I can for whatever reason. I’m getting closer to the finish line so I’m hoping to get it done and dusted by the end of the month. I swear the game goes from boring to alright to genuinely fun at the drop of a hat.
On the last chapter on Rain Code and man is it really good. The game is held together by duct tape and glue, but the story and characters are just that engaging. After I beat it I’ll finish up Final Fantasy 16.
Side quests that are more than just “do thing to get thing”. Xenoblade 3’s side content works so well because it’s not just the main protag that does the interaction. A lot of them focus on different party members and their relationships with all of the other colonies. Heck, the Hero Quests are as if not better than some of the main quests! I was hunting them down simply because I just liked the characters!
Great to see Rain Code get some of the recognition it deserves. It’s a bit jank, especially when it comes to the presentation, but the story is really good as far as I am.
Hi Fi Rush remains the undisputed champ for me. It’s everything I love about a game and it’s all killer no filler. Really deserves more recognition than it got.
Playing through it now and it’s… fine? It’s weird. The game has so much production value crammed into and has fun DMC-lite combat. I should be head over heels for it but it lacks that “zing” stuff like KH or other similar series have.
Got Final Fantasy 16 installing though I’m going to put a pin on it until Rain Code. Wasn’t too impressed with the demo so I’m not rushing to play it.
But until then I’ve been playing some Sparks of Hope and I’m really digging it! Fun, simple, and I really don’t mind the rabbids. They’re pretty tolerable in this one.
One of the lesser ones, but not too bad all around. The moment Just Dance got its own trailer was enough to temper expectations down a bit
But there was some good stuff nestled in there. Detective Pikachu making a comeback was a pleasant surprise, and the Super Mario RPG looks great. I’m also definitely keeping an eye on how the Arkham Trilogy performs.
But at this point I’m convinced Metroid Prime 4 just might be a next gen exclusive.
So I’m starting to go through the Wolfenstein games with New Blood being the first. Really hard but worth it just for BJ’s inner monologues alone. Should be able to get it done before FF16 rolls around.
Speaking of which, beat the demo for that not that long ago and it was good! Combat is the obvious highlight, but the Eikon fights are kinda brain dead and the story comes across as a tad bit edgy thus far. Didn’t blow me away like the rest of the internet but was fun enough.
You would think they learned how annoying this was the last time. Weird they confirmed Tactica but not the remake. Guess we just have to wait for the Partner Showcase/Direct to know for sure :/
With how thin their back half is there has to be a Direct at some point. If one is landing this month I’m sure it’ll be Partner Showcase and save the big stuff for a late 2023/2024 blowout later in the year.
The Switch won’t be seeing much use until Tears of the Kingdom comes out less than a week. So in the meanwhile I’ve been playing a cross between Returnal and Crash Team Racing.
Returnal is probably one of if not the best PS5 exclusive right now. Great combat mixed in with sci-fi psychological horror all wrapped up in a bullet hell rouge-like. Got the first ending and now aiming to complete the Tower of Sisyphus.
With CTR I’m just casually going through the Grand Prix racking up coins for whatever character pops up in the Pit Shop. Really fun racer that had the misfortune of being handled monetarily by Activision.
Just wrapped up the Resident Evil 4 remake which was fantastic. Didn’t really enjoy the opening hours but I’m glad I kept at it. Definitely a GOTY contender.
Taking a break from the Switch until Tears of the Kingdom lands. So it’s going to be a mixture of Dead Island 2 and DJ Max Respect/V on the Series X and I might start up Mageseeker on the PS5.

Re: Unity Reveals New Pricing Model For Runtime Fee Policy
Would’ve been better if they killed the fee outright.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Will "Absolutely Be Getting An Update" On Switch, Says Ed Boon
Then give it a big ol delay or just wait for the next console.
Re: Bluey Makes Her Video Game Debut On Switch This November
IF IT IS GOOD I might snag this for my little brother come Christmas.
Re: Review: Mortal Kombat 1 - A Superb Fighter, But Severely Kompromised On Switch
This is the prime example of “just because you could doesn’t mean you should”. Would rather see them wait on the Switch successor.

Cant wait to fall back into the Deltarune pit.
Re: Round Up: Developers React To Unity's New 'Runtime Fee' Policy
You won’t see me shed a tear when Unity inevitably gets hit with legal action.

Gives me an excuse to finally check it out.
Re: Unity To Charge Developers A Fee Each Time A Game Is Installed Next Year
No dev deserves to be screwed over like this. It’s not going to be long before a better engine comes along and takes Unity’s place.
Re: Gotham Knights Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch
If it’s not a cloud port then how the heck is this gonna run on the ol’ Switch?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 9th)
I have Starfield installed and ready to go in the Series X so of course I’ve been mainly playing Skyrim on the Switch.
