More Theaterhythm as usual. I’ve also been making slow progress on Rain World, a game that absolutely demands patience. It’s really good and I want to get to grips with it before the Downpour DLC drops.
Guess I’m not making plans to take off work this year. The Switch is absolutely about to (or already is) wind down so there might not be a whole lot to show.
Theaterhythm all day every day! Doing all of the Series Quests first then I’ll do mission clean up afterwards. Main thing is getting everyone leveled up and unlocking all of the songs.
Been playing the Theaterhythm demo on the Switch with some Melody of Memory on the side. I still can’t believe the amount of omissions MoM has.
I’ve been hankering to replay Minish Cap on NSO. I’ve played it when I was pretty young with a DS with an unresponsive R trigger. So it’ll be nice to actually play it properly.
Decapolice and the tease for Xeno 3’s story DLC were the highlights for me. It was also neat seeing a release date for Rain Code! Not a bad Direct all in all.
Switch: It’s been the demo for Final Fantasy Final Bar Line. Really been enjoying it so far and I’m gonna get everything maxed out as possible before its actually release.
Xbox: I’ve had the misfortune of my save for Gunfire Reborn vanishing into thin air and I’m not too happy about that. Gonna try and make up for lost time and get back where I was… which was at Talent Level 90 :/
On Xbox it’s Hi-Fi Rush which is fantastic so far! Tons of personality and looks like it came out of the OG Xbox era in the best possible way. Hopefully I’ll get it beat and done before my copy of the Dead Space Remake comes in.
PS5 is a combination of Infamous: Second Son and Ghostwire: Tokyo. Really do like the combat in Ghostwire and Infamous is just comfort food for me.
On Switch… I haven’t really been playing it all that much. It’ll certainly see some action once Theaterhythm comes out.
Ever since Gungrave Gore got the full auto update I’ve been playing way more that and replaying some older levels on hard to grind for some upgrades. I wouldn’t call it… great, but it’s pretty fun and looks cool enough!
As for Switch stuff I have the biggest hankering to try to get into Kingdoms of Amular. Keep falling off that one and I really want to give that game a proper chance.
It’s a great game and easily is among my top 10 for this year. I haven’t had a game that made me anxious to know what was going to happen next in a long while.
Might open the Pandora’s box known as Pokémon Violet but I’ll probably wait for an update or two or three…
But stuff I’ll definitely get around to is High on Life on the Series X, a pretty okay shooter with some chuckles here and there. I’ve also been diving into some Tinykin, which is probably one of the most chill platformers out there.
Still working my way through Evil West, which has way more meat on its bones than I thought. If I’m not slaying vampires and such then it’s onto Callisto Protocol.
Haven’t really played a whole lot of the Switch, but I’m sure when stuff like Dragon Quest Treasures and Jitsu Squad comes out that’ll change.
There always has to be some Smash related drama every year. It’s almost like they need to fulfill a quota or something. I don’t care at all for the tournament scene but to throw all of that effort out the window seriously sucks.
Their bubble is gonna burst someday if they don’t get a handle on quality control. It’ll be a matter of time before the mediocrity finally catches up to them.
The game, regardless if you’re having fun with it or not, needs to be torn to shreds. The Pokémon Company and everyone who let this pass certification should be ashamed of themselves. More than ever they need to know crap like this is unacceptable.
I’ll definitely snag this once I get through some other games but it’s certainly gonna be anywhere but the Switch. Cloud gaming has absolutely been a sore spot on the Switch’s lifespan.
This whole drama has opened up quite a bit of discussion of what VAs have to go through, so her call to boycott at least sparked conversation. It’s interesting to see VAs come out with their thoughts on the whole matter.
Already got it preloaded onto the Switch. It’ll have to wait after Sparks of Hope, but I’m glad this version received the proper attention it deserves.
I would love to see a non-borked port of Silent Hill 2. It doesn’t need a remake, just more readily accessible cause it really is one of the best horror games out there.
So… uh… Kamiya responded in a very “Kamiya” way. “Sad and deplorable about the attitude of untruth. That’s what all I can tell now. By the way, BEWARE OF MY RULES.”
I haven’t a clue how to link on a phone, but it’s there on Nibel’s Twitter if you want a gander.
I’m hankering to really give No Man’s Sky a go, but I might just end up doing some side quests in NieR Automata. Other than that Spooky’s Jumpscare Mansion was released not long ago and it’s way freakier than I remember.
My top pick that never grows old for me is Pokémon Mystery Dungeon’s “Dialga’s Fight to the Finish”. One of my all time favorite boss themes and just favorite tune in general!
At this point the game could really use a sequel. The dearth of modes and whatnot really kills it for me. If the next go around has every character plus DLC with more meat on its bones then it’ll hopefully have a better chance.
For all of its faults, Resi 6 is probably the most “fun” Resident Evil game for me. It’s cheesy action shlock and is honestly WAY more playable than Resi 5.
Other contenders for me is the OG Nier, mediocre gameplay but has an AMAZING story, characters, and music. Deadly Premonition if only because of the mere existence of its main lead York.
Wrapped up Beacon Pines not long ago and what a lovely game that was. Really recommend it if you’re in the mood for a charming mystery game. Also got done with Xenoblade 3 and I might give Xeno 2 another shot. But for now it’s either Soulstice on the Xbox or I might start up a play through of Trails from Zero on the Switch.

Wasn’t too impressed with how the game looked regardless what platform it was on.

Also holy crap Metroid Remaster oh my god.

Some No More Heroes 3 on the Series X. Liking it a bit more the second go-around, and it was already my second favorite out of the series.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 7th)
Finally landed myself a PS5 so it’s gonna be some R&C Rift Apart.

I’ve been dabbling into Halo Infinite’s campaign and it’s pretty good fun so far. Not much other than that.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 10th)
Some Jitsu Squad on the Series X and I might head back into Bayonetta 3 after the recent announcement of Bayonetta Origins peaking my curiosity.

Going to get some progress done on Evil West with some Risk of Rain 2 on the side. Been awfully tempted to hop back on Pokémon Legends too.

Hopefully I’ll be wrapping up Sonic Frontiers this weekend before Evil West drops. And I need to get THAT game done before The Collisto Protocol!

I’ll get the game and will be avoiding the internet like the plague when it comes out.

S T A B L E.
At this point in the Switch’s life I don’t think we’re getting any themes and whatnot.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 8th)
Serious Sam Siberian Madness just came out on console and it’s really fun, so I’ll probably get some progress done on that.
