@-wc- I think a full home-console version would be an awesome idea, as I know plenty of people don’t use the portability anyway. Or they could make it so it links up with a portable-only version like the Switch Lite.
I’ve definitely been playing an interesting mix of games lately.
I’m currently playing/replaying the GTA V story mode after buying the Xbox Series X enhanced version that, unknown to me, does not save your story mode progress from the Xbox One version. I’m having a lot of fun playing it though, so I don’t mind having to restart. I just got Street Fighter 6 yesterday as well, so I’ve been playing that too. It’s definitely different from Smash, which is the only fighting game I’m really familiar with, but I’ve enjoyed learning how it works. It was definitely most fun to play it locally with friends and learn together, rather than just getting stomped online by random people.
I’m also likely going to get Baldur’s Gate 3 for my Xbox here in the next couple of days. I’m very curious to see what all the hype around it is about, even though I’m not a huge RPG fan.
Aside from those games, I’m still playing some other multiplayer games with friends like Fortnite and Call of Duty Modern Warfare III.
Still playing Mario Wonder and Forza Motorsport like last weekend. I think I’m going to try to 100% complete Mario Wonder this weekend though, but I’m only just starting world 5, so we’ll see.
I’ll also be playing Overwatch 2 for some multiplayer.
Haven’t posted on one of these in quite a long time, as I’ve not had a lot of opportunities to play video games in a while, but this weekend I actually do have some games to talk about. Right now I’m mostly playing Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Forza Motorsport. Mario is a lot of fun so far, and it’s definitely far more interesting and unique than the New Super Mario Bros. series ever was. I’m really liking the variety of levels, and I’m not even done with Pipe-Rock Plateau yet. Forza Motorsport is my first motorsport game of any kind, as I’ve only really played Forza Horizon in the past. I’m really liking it so far though, even if I’m not very good at it. I like the Builder’s Cups and the variety of races and cars they bring to the experience as well.
On the multiplayer side of things I’ve been really only playing Overwatch 2 for the past month or two, as my friends have been really into it lately.
@BTB20 True, but just like Super Mario Bros. 35, it didn’t have to be a 99 game. They could have adjusted the player count or other things to make it work better.
Am I the only one who doesn’t like the 4 lap structure? I haven’t really seen anyone talk about it, but I feel like it misses the point of other 99 games where the idea is that the last person standing wins.
Not very impressive to me, but I knew that going in. We’ll definitely be seeing more exciting stuff next year, and I was still happy with a couple of announcements this time around anyway.
I’ve never played this game, but this announcement completely blindsided me. I thought for sure we wouldn’t get any Paper Mario because of the Mario RPG remaster!
Interesting that there are 4 characters here when there are only 2 open slots on the character select screen. I wonder if they’ll do anything else with this game?
I really like that artwork. I don’t think I’ll be getting this one, as Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Sonic Superstars, and Forza Motorsport are all coming out around that same time.
I’ll be playing a variety of games this weekend. Pikmin 4 and Tears of the Kingdom are still the reigning single player games, but I might also pick up every DOOM game on Switch now that they are all on sale. I’ve also been playing Splatoon 3 again lately after not touching it for quite a while, and it has been quite an experience. While playing Anarchy Battle Open with friends, we have lost all but a very small handful of games, which is extremely demoralizing. After those losses, I played 3 different series on Anarchy Battle over the course of today, and I lost 1 game the entire time. 15 wins and 1 loss to rank up twice. It’s frustrating that my friends and I can’t do better together, but I’m still having fun regardless.
@Mauzuri Yeah, I agree that some people are more vocal than they need to be about these games, but that take on Breath of the Wild honestly doesn’t make any sense. Hyrule is literally filled with things to do. Shrines to find and complete, Korok seeds to collect, plenty of quests to do, etc. You say that Hyrule has no items to collect, NPCs to talk to, or goals to work toward, but that is blatantly incorrect. Breath of the Wild was a LOT of people’s first Zelda game, so I don’t think it’s fair to say that it gets the reception it does simply because it’s Zelda.
@EvrgrnCmln I guess I just don’t agree. To clarify, I don’t care if people like these games, more power to them, but I also don’t think people should be ridiculed for wanting something better. I’ve personally also left the franchise, but the reason many of these people won’t leave the franchise behind is because they genuinely want to see it return to the level of quality it once had. There certainly are some people who hate for the sake of hating, but I notice that people get called haters for expressing completely justified complaints about a franchise they want to love again.
I find it weird that people who, justifiably, don’t like these games and refuse to support them are simply reduced down to “haters.” Good enough shouldn’t be the standard of quality for a big Nintendo game like this one.
I just found a copy of Pikmin 4 at the store today, so I’ll definitely be playing that this weekend. I’ve never played Pikmin before, and I wasn’t very impressed by the demo, but I’m really liking it so far! Can’t wait to try more.
I’ll also be playing some Tears of the Kingdom here and there. I know I said that I was taking a break, but I guess it was a short break, because I’m feeling motivated to do more.
On top of those two games, I’m sure there will be multiplayer this weekend, including Among Us and Smash Ultimate.
We definitely didn’t NEED one, but I would have loved a third wave of characters. I still play Smash on a pretty regular basis, so more support is always great.
I was thinking about playing Pikmin 4 as my first Pikmin game, but my local stores had no copies at all. I might get it digitally, but I might also just wait for it to hopefully get restocked in a week or so.
In the meantime, I’m kinda just casually playing Bowser’s Fury and Tears of the Kingdom. My friends and I will also be playing Among Us tonight, so that should be fun.
Still playing Tears of the Kingdom. At this point I’m just doing whatever I feel like doing whenever I play, since I’m done with all of the main quests.
This weekend will be a busy one for me, so we’ll see how much I play video games.
I’ll be continuing to play Tears of the Kingdom for the most part. I beat the game at 70 hours of total playtime earlier this week, and now I’m basically just going for shrines, lightroots, armor, and any side quests that catch my attention. I'm still not tired of the game, and I don’t think that I will be anytime soon.
I’ll maybe also play some more New Super Luigi U as a change of pace from Zelda, but I don’t know.
I’ll be playing more Tears of the Kingdom this weekend. I’ve only got one dungeon left to do, and I’m currently closing in on that area of the map. Before I’m officially comfortable with putting the game down, I’d like to do this last dungeon, get the remaining dragon tears, and pull the Master Sword so I can beat the game. I might continue playing even longer after that though, even if I decide to give Pikmin 4 a try as a newcomer to the series. Regardless of whether or not I put the game down, I will absolutely pick it up again in the future, as there is plenty I still want to do.
I’m also playing some New Super Luigi U to serve as a bit of a change of pace from Zelda and an appetizer for Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
I’m currently 50 hours in with 3 dungeons under my belt. It’s honestly insane how much I still have left to do. I’d like to get all of the main quests done before I feel comfortable putting the game down for a while, but I’d also like to complete every shrine and lightroot at some point. That’s what I’d consider my personal bare minimum, but I may one day 100% complete the game like I did with Breath of the Wild. I don’t know where I’m going to find the time though!
I’m still making my way through Tears of the Kingdom lately. I’m 40 hours in, but I still have so much to do. I basically can’t play the game for less than 2 hours because there’s just too much that I want to accomplish whenever I play! I might start playing a platformer of some sort to serve as a bit of a break from such a massive adventure game, but who knows. I may also try to play some Splatoon 3 to see the new update(s), since I haven’t really played a ton of the game since the first season.
I’ll be playing more Tears of the Kingdom of course. I’m about 30 hours in now, and I’m just about to start my second dungeon. There’s just so much to do in this game that it’s honestly overwhelming, but in a good way of course.
I’ll also probably be playing Fortnite with friends when I’m taking a break from Zelda. However, Fortnite removed the trios game option, which is super frustrating because that was the mode I played the most, so we’ve had to work around that lately.
Tears of the Kingdom of course! I am so unbelievably excited to dig into this game all summer and beyond. There is so much that I don’t know about the game yet that really has my imagination running wild, which just makes me more thrilled to play!
I’ve still been really busy lately, but that will thankfully change when Tears of the Kingdom comes out. Until then, I’m just getting things done and waiting for Zelda!
Unfortunately, I probably won’t be able to play anything again this weekend, as I’ve just been way too busy lately. I’ve mostly been just thinking about how excited I am to play Zelda in less than 2 weeks!
I remember talking with my friends about the movie back when the first trailer came out, and they thought I was crazy when I said the film would make $1 Billion. Guess I was right after all!

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Personal Favourite Super Mario Game?
For me, it has to be Super Mario Odyssey. The game controls like a dream, and that makes it extremely replayable for me.
Re: Talking Point: What Game Do You Wish You Could Forget?
Breath of the Wild 100%.

Switch pro controller for me. It has so many features while also being the most comfortable controller I’ve ever used.
