Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 26th)

For singleplayer, I just bit the bullet and bought Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope on sale. I’ve played very little so far, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy it quite a lot. I also just finished the Modern Warfare II campaign, and it was super fun for me. I’ve never played a Call of Duty game before, and the campaign was very different from any games I’m familiar with, which I really liked. It’s pretty likely that I’ll eventually play the older campaigns as well.

For multiplayer, I haven’t been playing much the last couple of days, since my friends have been unavailable. However, I have a feeling that we’ll finally start playing again this weekend. We’ll likely play more Modern Warfare II, but we’ve also gotten back into Fortnite recently after a bit of a hiatus, so I’m sure we’ll play that as well.

Re: Pokémon Fans Vent Frustrations Online About Scarlet & Violet's Technical Issues

P-Man

I’ve been a Pokémon fan for quite a long time at this point, and I was initially very worried when Scarlet and Violet were announced. As more trailers came out I became more confident that the games would be great, but after hearing people’s reactions, I am simply disappointed. I’ve gotten every main Pokémon game at launch for a long time now, but I don’t know if I can do it for this one. Until they fix the technical issues, I’m either going to skip it, or buy a used copy because I do not support this blatant laziness. It’s ok for people to like these games, but to defend these issues is blind and ridiculous. I wish Gamefreak cared about the series the way that Nintendo cares about 3D Mario and Zelda games. It’s just unfortunate all around.

For singleplayer, I’ll be completing the main story of Sonic Frontiers and will likely start on 100% completion. I was going to get the new Pokémon game, but I don’t know if I want to with all of the frame rate issues. I might change my mind, but we’ll see.

For multiplayer, I’ll probably be playing more Modern Warfare II and Fortnite with friends.

For singleplayer, I’m playing Sonic Frontiers. I’m on the final island right now, and I’ve really enjoyed the game so far. I think I’ll probably go for 100% completion (or at least close).

For multiplayer, I’ll be playing more Modern Warfare II, as well as Fortnite. I was going to play the Splatfest for Splatoon 3, but I keep forgetting about it, and I think it’s about done anyway.

Re: Review: Sonic Frontiers - A Bold But Ultimately Failed Attempt At Something New

P-Man

I’ve played for about 7 hours on Xbox Series S, and I’ve gotta say, I have really been enjoying this game. Initially I wasn’t really feeling it, but as I played more (especially in smaller play sessions), I began wanting to continue playing more and more. The game is not without its problems, but it has the potential to become one of my favorite sonic games by the time I’m finished with it. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

For singleplayer, I don’t really know what I’ll play. I haven’t played Persona 5 Royal in a while, but that’s mostly because I played a bit too much of it so quickly. I’ll undoubtedly be back to finish the game later though, as it really is fantastic. I’m mostly just waiting it out for Sonic Frontiers at this point.

For multiplayer, I’ll be continuing to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare II with my friends. I’ve been having quite a fun time with the game, but one of my friends plays on PC rather than Xbox, so I’ve been struggling to keep up a bit.

For singleplayer, I’ll be continuing to play Persona 5 Royal. I’m already 20 hours in and I am absolutely hooked. It’s honestly kind of crazy because I didn’t expect to like the game as much as I do.

For multiplayer, there will probably be more GTA V and Smash Ultimate. I’m also considering getting Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, which would be my first Call of Duty game.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 22nd)

For multiplayer, I’ve been playing GTA V, Overwatch 2, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with my friends lately. GTA is really fun for just screwing around, but I don’t really like the heists in the game very much, which is annoying because that’s how you get the most money to buy fun stuff. We’ve taken a bit of a break from Overwatch 2, but it’s still lots of fun and I’m sure we’ll play more this weekend. Smash Ultimate is just as fun as ever, even hundreds of hours later.

For singleplayer, I’ve just started Persona 5 Royal, and I’m hooked already. The story is awesome, and I’ve played for 5 hours already. I really hope that the game remains super interesting I’m the future, as I’ve heard it’s very long.

For multiplayer I’m continuing to play Overwatch 2 with friends, but we’ve also been jumping all over the place lately, so who really knows what we’ll play this weekend! As for single player, I finished Super Mario World last weekend and have decided that it is my favorite 2D Mario game! Kinda funny to think about, because I honestly wasn’t super impressed by it during my first playthrough, yet here we are. Right now I’m almost done with New Super Mario Bros. U, but I don’t know what to play when I’m done! I think I’m going to get Persona 5 Royal next weekend, so I’m debating on playing a different Mario game in the meantime. Right now I’m leaning toward Sunshine, but who knows.

Mostly Overwatch 2, but I’ve also been playing Super Mario World and I have been really enjoying it. I’ve only beaten it once before and now I’m playing it again while finding all of the secrets. I have to say, Super Mario World has aged absolutely beautifully. The visuals, music, controls, and overall structure are still utterly wonderful over 30 years later.

Re: The Super Mario Bros. Movie Teaser Trailer Is Finally Here

P-Man

The visuals look amazing, and I really like most of the voices, but I need to hear more of Mario. I feel like I heard a slight twinge of Mario at the end, so I’m hopeful that he will sound more like Mario in actually significant conversations, but we’ll see. Chris Pratt fits pretty well by himself anyway.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 1st)

I’ve still been playing plenty of Splatoon 3 alone and with friends, and I’m not tired of it yet! However, I’ll probably be taking a break from it, as my friends and I have been playing Overwatch lately and will most definitely be playing Overwatch 2 next week and beyond. Aside from those games, I’ve been playing PAC-MAN Museum + and GTA San Andreas whenever I feel like chilling. I’m also thinking about yet another playthrough of Super Mario Galaxy, so we’ll see.

Re: Video Game YouTuber Dunkey Launches His Own Indie Publishing Company

P-Man

I think some of the people complaining about his content are completely missing the point of what he does. He makes different kinds of videos that not everyone seems to pick up on. Basically, if a game doesn’t have “dunkview” in the title, it is not an actual review or evaluation of the game in question (like his Metroid Dread video). Many of his dunkviews are honestly really good and show that he does have knowledge on gaming. Taking any of his other videos seriously is just asking to rage baited, ESPECIALLY his JRPG videos. Exaggeration is the name of his game, and as someone who has been watching his videos for a very long time, you kind of just have to pay attention to what his real opinions are in between all of the jokes.

Also, while there’s no guarantee that his company will succeed, there’s no guarantee that it will fail either. Starting a company isn’t something you just do without thinking about it. I’m sure he and his wife have been planning this for quite a while now, so I’m optimistic for Bigmode.

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of The September 2022 Nintendo Direct?

P-Man

It was alright for me. I’m beyond excited for Tears of the Kingdom, but that was the only major thing that really grabbed me. Fire Emblem isn’t my thing and I’ve never played Pikmin (I’d be willing to try it though). The 3rd party stuff definitely didn’t land for me this time around, as I’m just not that interested in RPGs. Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe looks pretty great and I’ve always wanted to play it, and of course there was the Mario Kart DLC. So basically one major game for me, one smaller one, and some DLC. The good was really good, but I simply wasn’t too interested in a lot of the stuff shown.
