Well folks, another week has come and gone, and it certainly feels like there's been a lot to talk about regarding The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, right?
First up, of course, we received full confirmation from Nintendo that the latest Zelda game managed to sell an incredible 10 million copies in just three days. That's simply astonishing! We also took a look at some of the best builds in the game so far, how people have been tormenting those poor Koroks, and why folks seem to be pining after Purah.
It's not all about Zelda though. Indeed, a brand new Mortal Kombat game was just confirmed to be launching on the Switch this year, and it's looking pretty sweet so far. There was also the rather amusing announcement of Spongebob Squarepants content arriving in Powerwash Simulator, along with confirmation that Sonic Prime will be returning to Netflix in July. Cool!
But enough of that. Let's get to what we're doing this weekend. Can anybody guess? C'mon, it's easy.

Naturally, I'm still playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. How could I not? I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of this game, despite probably knocking out about 15 hours so far. I found some shrines, met with Prince Sidon, annnd... That's about it?
It's just so much fun exploring the world, diving into the Chasms, discovering new things... What a game, man.
Jim Norman, Staff Writer
This weekend I will be continuing to play (drumroll please) Tears of the Kingdom! Yes, surprising nobody, I am absolutely in love with this game. I keep flitting between wanting to get the story under my belt and wanting to go and see every single thing that I walk past. It would really do me good to just get my head down and tick off some story things so that I don’t have to be quite as conscious of spoilers next week, but I know that I’ll come across an engaging side quest or a pretty looking mountain and just like that, poof, four hours are down the drain.
To be honest, that will likely be all the gaming for me. I would love to go back and play a little bit more Hollow Knight, but I’d be kidding myself if I think that I will be able to put the Hylian adventure down for long enough to sleep, let alone play another game.

Well, no surprises what I’ll be playing this weekend. For both guides and my own personal enjoyment, I’m planning on spending every waking moment I can with Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I’ve spent a ton of time with it already, am a few bosses into the main story, and have been combing the depths for treasure as much as possible, and it’s just absolutely blown me away in every way possible.
I would usually come up with a few other things I’ll be having a little punt on from the eShop before Monday at this juncture, but yeah, it’s all about Zelda all of the time right now. A game that makes Breath of the Wild look almost old hat. What a time to be alive!

Busy weekend ahead as I continue my Nintendo 64 incursion. Top notch arcade fun is assure by Murtop and the amazing Bubble Bobble EveryBubble!, so please look forward to it. More Taito action with Ray’z Arcade Chronology. I just can not get enough on Zuntata and I absolute love RayStorm. Also the big Turrican Ultra Collectors Edition arrived after nearly 3 years wait so I expect some sort of ‘Shoot or Die’ action coming my way.
Game of the week is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I am skipping the main quests and have been exploring ‘Hyland’ all over again. I feel very humbled to play this game, every little journey an absolute adventure.

Ahoy NL Folks! This weekend I’m going to do my best to create absolute monstrosities using Link’s Ultrahand ability in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Oh, and making sure I've used all of my Zelda Amiibo cards each day so I can fill my stable with several Epona clones.
Outside of the weekend Linkscapades, I’ll be booting Gears 5 on my Xbox Series X to nab a few achievements I’m close to getting. Or if I’m really lucky, I can nab a few friends to give Omega Strikers a go!
Happy gaming!
Yep, there's a lot of Zelda going around this week once again. But what are you folks playing? Fill out the below poll and leave a comment with your weekend gaming plans.

Continuing with Tears of the Kingdom I am taking it nice and slow! The game is so damn good!
I will take some breaks with WarCraft II The Dark Saga for the PS1. Some skirmish matches will be fun
Happy gaming everyone!
Tears. Taking my time to a point, though I am guilty of burning through dialogue. There's so much! But when I do hit the finish line and start a second play, I'll slow down and read more. Right now I'm trying to be both leisurely and see the ending before someone accidentally spoils it
Tears of the Kingdom, and when the Switch isn't available hopefully some more God of War Ragnarok.
Tears of the Kingdom. I can't say enough good things about it.
Another full weekend of Tears of the Kingdom for me.
To probably no one's surprise, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and I've got a three-day weekend to boot, so here's to lots of Hyrulean hijinks!
Switch: TotK. 10/10.
PS5 and Series: Nothing, obviously.
Tonight I'm not seeing my friends since tomorrow we're celebrating my father's 70th birthday!
So I'll just continue with my schedule of alternating between Tears of the Kingdom (got the first Dragon's Tear and yep, it confirmed that Zelda ended up in the past, 10 Shrines, 2 Lightroots and 11 Koroks down), Persona 5 (first infiltration into the fifth Palace), Engage (only did stuff around the Somniel, still 11 Chapters, 2 Paralogues, 4 Divine Paralogues and all Fell Xenologue down), Scarlet (challenged the Poison Crew Base, 4 Gyms, 3 Titans and 3 Team Stars down), Sparks of Hope (back to the fifth planet, started the second map), Return to Dream Land (finished Magolor Epilogue, Story complete, gold in all Challenge Stages, Magolor Epilogue complete and all missions for 8 Sub-Games in Merry Magoland) and Advance Wars (tutorial and 9 missions down, 7 S and 2 A ranks)!
SWITCH
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - I'm absolutely loving this game! Probably more so than Breath of the Wild so far!
3DS
Nothing on here this weekend.
PS5
GTA Online with friends later.
PC
Nothing on here this weekend.
MOBILE
Pokemon GO - the Fennekin community day! Finally I'll be able to get Delphox!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Tears of the Kingdom is the best game I played in a long time. Haven't been this hooked since Cyberpunk 2077.
Gotta collect more energy cells!
I played Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town PS4 all day long. 😊

I have reached Autumn season.
Still working on getting more money.
Tears of the Kingdom…it’s such a special piece of software. The Legend of Zelda series truly sits atop gaming royalty, this entry is yet another gem in its Crown!
Now with that said..I owe Hollow Knight an apology. I was amongst the “Hollow Haters”, never could get into the game. I tried to like it but just found it too drab and overrated. Prior to TotK’s release I gave it another go and it just clicked and now I’m loving the game! It’s a masterpiece in its own right, recommend anyone else who got stumped or perhaps never gave the game a fair shot to revisit the game. Now I’m that annoying guy that’s gonna be looking for Silksong with every Direct that’s announced lol. Yup..that’s me now.
TotK and Hollow Knight are my current gaming obsessions. I might not even come outside this summer.
Have a happy weekend! Happy Gaming! Happy Wife!!…pretty sure that’s what the Bible says too!
Ganon destroys weekends faster than Hyrule!
Tears of the Kingdom for me too! I have done two temples but I have decided on a change of pace, i'm just exploring the maps at the moment!
Totk or Torture of the Koroks 😁
In between making stupid stuff and exploring new ways of destroying things I'm also playing Souldiers, which is an awesome Metroidvania.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Still Zelda. Still loving it!
I'm still trying to play Breath of the Wild, but wanted to finish my playthrough of Death Stranding first. I just need to clear a few more orders, find some memory chips and fabricate the remaining items and I am free to roam Hyrule without looking guiltily at my backlog.
I also tried Nobody Lives Under The Lighthouse. The first hour is great as the tension slowly builds. And then it got weird. And a bit boring. It's a shame that there's a game on Dreams on PlayStation that tells a similar story in a much better way.
Bit of splatoon 3 - decided I want to get at least some of the chill season catalogue (only up to level 14) although I probably won’t get much past level 20.
Also Quake - towards the end of the main campaign I think. Not sure I’ll do any of the additional content because backlog, but it’s been fun.
I have also been playing Terra Nil and Spiritfarer on iPad (free through Netflix) but both keep crashing and I’m running out of patience with them.
ZTOTK mostly and also hoping to pick up Lego 2K Drive but still waiting for a Nintendo Switch review. Seen all the Xbox and PS reviews but not one Switch review. I just love Lego games and racing so even if it’s a 7/10 am likely to pick it up’
What’s the hold up @nintendolife ?
Trying to play BoTW again for the... 6th time? Still not enjoying it one bit although it is impressive to code a game where you drown in waist deep water all the time and not see the problem there.
Hogwarts Legacy
Back to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I was going to start TotK but that Playstation Showcase announcement gives me the impression a general Direct is very soon which would distract from TotK (Nintendo is very much like that such as in September 2020 when a Partner Showcase announcing games like MH Rise came the day after Playstation Showcase).
When I start TotK I want it to be the focus until I've beaten it, especially given Aonuma's comments gives me the impression the next Zelda game will probably release in 2029.
It is a sunny day and I am still playing Splatoon 3. I want to level at least one weapon to level 5.
Happy gaming everyone!
Zelda, of course.
Current progress:
7 hearts.
2 stamina wheels.
37 shrines.
56 Korok seeds.
2 light roots.
1 sage's will (whatever that means)
I’ve completed the first regional phenomenon and I’m approaching my second. I’ve spent most of my time wandering across the map being sidetracked by every interesting looking thing in the distance.
e.g. I managed to make my way through the storm surrounding Thunderhead Isles to somewhere called Dragonhead Isle. My seven hearts aren’t nearly enough to open the door I discovered there, so I don't think I'm expected to be there yet… I wonder what's inside. I also suspect there's a way to clear the storm because it was a massive pain navigating the islands with close to zero visibility.
Zelda naturally! I'm also still busy with Xenoblade Chronicles 2.. Happy times all around.
There is a new Zelda game?! That came out of nowhere! I'll have to pick it up!
Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Tears of the kingdom like the majority of everyone else. Ive just cleared 2 dungeons but im going to slow down now and just start unlocking more of the map and shrine searching. 7 hearts now, 1 extra piece of stamina and ive got 12 shrine tokens (i dont know what they are officially called) to trade in and about 18 korok seeds that i need to trade for inventory slots. Really great game and i was so close to not even bothering with it as i didnt like BOTW.
I’m 25hrs into Tears of the Kingdom and am literally blown away by its scope, creativity and beauty. I’ve spent at least 3-4hrs in the Depths, which is my favourite part of the game so far, and I’ve not even reached my first temple yet. I can’t remember the last time a game grabbed me like TOTK has. Genuinely. BOTW included.
This week I will be mostly playing
Fire Emblem Fates
Tears of the Kingdom
Nintendo Switch:
Hyper Light Drifter – Special Edition – released 5 modules on the South zone. Released a few monoliths somewhere, got blue outfit, got some in-game achievements... Beated all South zone bosses and beated Judgement! I finished the game on Standart difficulty! That was cool. I had been crying during the final cutscene and credits... It is one of the best games I've ever played in my life. Started New Game Alt with Alternative Drifter.
Persona4 The ULTIMAX ULTRA SUPLEX HOLD – completed Arcade Mode on A grade playing as false Shadow Labrys(with Ariadne as Persona). Also, played Versus mode for a little bit.
Skullgirls 2nd Encore – played CPU QUICK MATCH mode for a bit.
Corpse Party(2021) – started replaying 5th chapter to get Extra End.
Android:
Terraria – playing in co-op with my best friend on Expert difficulty. Beated Queen Bee for 3 times. Beated Dungeon's Guardian for 2 times. Got Skeletron's baby pets. Beated Old One's Army for 3 or 4 times...
Stealth 'astard Deluxe – completed 3-1 level on A rank, 3-2 level on B rank, 3-3 level on A rank, 3-4 on A, 3-5 on B rank with DNA-like thing, and 3-6 on B rank.
Well, that's all what I've played on this week. Have a nice gaming week, everyone.
This week marks a relatively tectonic shift in my hobby. With some long pondered but still crazy decisions behind and resulting 36 months of payments ahead, it is with great pleasure to inform you of Steam Deck joining my hardware arsenal. So most of my weekend will likely be spent emulating TotK and making photos of my Switch for a local eBay equivalent. So long, partner...
...
Anyhoo, I have the usual truckload of itches to assuredly or potentially scratch on the console queen - Xenoblades and GTAs, RF5 and Portia, some Isaac and Cozy Grove, Romancing SaGa and Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Eternal Radiance and Borderlands 2, Grid Autosport and Idol Manager, possibly some Immortals and Starlink, NMS and BotW... plus a yet-to-be-defined portion of this payday's new recruits. With card pathologically brimming at most times, bulkier newcomers like Iron Wings, Crysis trilogy and even Carto will likely await their turn, but at least For A Vast Future and One Step from Eden look pretty probable in this discussion's timeframe. The handhelds, meanwhile, are pitching up their own recurrent options from Endless Frontier and Fantasy Life to Xenogears and Tales of Eternia, whereas PS4 is expecting a bit more time with racers like Grid Legends, NFS Rivals and/or The Crew 2.
What? Elephants? Rooms? Jesse, what the... okay, okay, but even speaking seriously, there's no telling how much of the weekend I'll spend playing Valve's machine versus prepping it for the days and plays to come. Suffice to say, I picked up my unit from the store Thursday afternoon and didn't get to launch a game before some 10 pm - which only rests my case that it's a computer, not a console.😏😆 Despite it all, my Deck plans remain more Napoleonic by the hour, at least within the bounds of combined 256+512 Gb storage. I'm nuts enough not only to be forfeiting my many PS4 hours in Horizon in favour of a new but fully portable playthrough (which, unlike the discounted Code Vein and Days Gone I also grabbed from Steam yesterday, I was equally nuts and impatient to splurge the full $40 on), but to consider the same for my almost 50 hours of FFXV. Naturally, emulation is also involved - I've already loaded stuff from Phantasy Star Online and Ar Tonelico to Xenosaga and Tales of Xillia (the latter to at least give it a long-craved roll, although so far a potential Switch port of the dilogy remains the only platform I have my plegde to buy it AND forego my Tales binge queue on) to The Last Story and friggen Xenoblade X at long last - knocking on wood so all of this runs without fine print, of course. Then again, what room is left will be dedicated to more Steam library stuff to transfer from the laptop - Just Cause 3 and Dishonored, Morrowind and The Surge, GTA 4 and Brutal Legend, possibly Mad Max and Disney Infinity... and, of friggen COURSE, FFXIII. Also fully portable at the same long last... :'^)
...and believe it or not, I still remain entrenched in the market for the trilogy's Switch ports. And no, not just due to XIII-2's apparent PC port oddities. Even Valve doesn't dare view Deck as a "Switch killer", so in what universe would you catch ME doing so? But from the day it came out, I knew what I might someday want and manage to bring it into Switch's entourage for... and it just so happens that today is Someday on the calendar.
I'll be playing 'no one lives under the lighthouse' and 'golf story' 🤙
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn
On the endgame of Act 3 about to head into the final act! Gotta give a nod to the uphill battle strategy, the map designs, and varied objectives. Quite the unorthodox FE. Great game. After this I've beaten every mainline FE game, so go me I guess!
After a rocky start with Zelda (I felt overwhelmed by the scope of it all) something just clicked and I was like oh I get the game now, and honestly once that happened I have been having an absolute blast with it.
That being said, this is a game I want to savour and keep around for years and in playing something else I'm just extending my hype about the game and I'm always thinking about it. The something else I'm playing is Trinity Trigger, good game but not worth the price I paid IMO, nonetheless I'm pretty far in I think, hoping to be done with it before Cassette Beasts releases.
Also been drawing again after a long hiatus (I'm not good at art, but it's fun)
edit My god that poll, never seen it so skewed xD
Yes, it's Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
A beautiful mix of story, exploration, some puzzling and also experimenting with various game elements to see if I can find weird things. I've been attacked by chickens, used a Fashion Designer as a human shield, had plenty of Korok fun, sent two NPC's plummeting to their death in funny deadpan cutscenes (although they miraculously survive)
Enjoying the gameplay loop and the ability to mix it up depending on how I feel. And the quest design is just spectacular, how it draws you to discover more organically, but in such a way that it's kind of loosely scripted if you follow certain paths. Very accessible to new players.
The "Tulin" quest was a really memorable journey too.
Now, it's off to Kakariko I go 🛟
Uhmmm hard choice,
1:zelda
2:zelda
Uhhmm and
3:zelda.
This weekend sees the next Pokémon Go community day event with Fennekin getting the spotlight, so you know I’ll be playing that. I’m also planning on playing more of Grid Legends, on my PS4 as well.
Dragon Quest III on Switch. I've not been able to get through it before, but it's a really good game. Looking forward to the HD-2D version.
After binging ToTK since it released I might take a break and play some other stuff. I've sent Link to some challenging places the last few days so I'll probably give him the weekend off.
The obvious answer. Still keeping my first run map-less and warp-less. It's gonna take a while, but I'm in absolutely no rush.
I admit I was not hyped. I had been playing retro games for quite some time and didn't want to get into a game that would take dozens and dozens of hours, maybe a hundred, but I had used two coupons when Kirby was released in February (one for Kirby, one for TotK), so I decided to give Zelda TotK a try last Friday, and that's the game I've been playing since then. It's wonderful and has completely absorbed me. Things to do don't get boring, shrines are fun and that huge world is awesome. What a game! And just like many people have been saying, I'm taking things slowly, just enjoying my ride
Super Mario 3D Land on 2DS XL. I’m a little more than halfway through the Special worlds. It’s not TotK but there is this one level where when you light four torches, a door opens playing the secret-found-song from Zelda.
Needless to say it's a Tears of the Kingdom weekend. I haven't touched any of the main story at all as I've been so distracted by the tons of other things going on in this game. You know a game is good when you can't stop thinking about it, shrines you gave up on, side quests you said you were going to do then got sidetracked by dozens of other things: "oh yeah I'm heading to that tower there...hang on a sec, a cave! Come out of the cave and happen across a well. Right I'm going in there!" Brilliant.
Final Fantasy 12 - PC
Tales of Vesperia - PC
Been playing Dokapon Kingdom Connect, but the computer opponents are ruthless. Need to play Ooblets to finish up the spring event with the bunny ooblet (Taterflop).
DUNGEON ENCOUNTERS on my RTX 4090
This weekend is dedicated to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I apologize in advance if this is long and tedious.
I have spent 20hrs + in this game and I haven’t done much of anything yet (I’ve wanted to spend more time with it, but alas, I work full time and I’m married with a child) which is not a bad thing. I’ve done a handful of shrines, completed one main quest after receiving the paraglider - the one involving the Hebra Mountains. Other than that, I’ve done nothing but explore and experience the game at my own pace, in my own unique and personal expedition.
I’m not going to sugarcoat it - this might be the greatest game ever made, and that is surprising to me because I was lukewarm on BoTW. Here, the majority of elements that I wasn’t keen on in BoTW have been revamped with something I thoroughly enjoy: rewarding exploration. In the first game, exploration wasn’t exciting because all it led to was a shrine, or a treasure chest that had five arrows in it, but it took a lot of work to get it. The risk vs. reward wasn’t worth it.
In this game, exploration is so much more rewarding. You can discover caves and wells, some of which contain side quests, shrines, and extra areas to explore if you look closely for destructible walls; or just an enchanting view that creates an innate reaction to reach that location but you’ll end up getting sidetracked because there is a mystery around every corner that is provided a genuine sense of wonder. Everything seems to have depth and layers to it the more you peel away at it.
I want to bring up a slight spoiler. I was exploring a location near a sky view tower. It’s a well hidden cave. As I trekked my way down to the bottom I discovered a shrine. It was on the other side of the cave, upon a ledge you’d have to climb up to. When I jumped down to make my way forward, I got ambushed by a group of gloom hands. I panicked, of course, and used a lot of my weapons and arrows to dismantle them. I thought, “That was tough, but I pulled through, despite losing a few hearts to the gloom.” Immediately after killing them, a boss fight triggered and it was a Phantom Ganon that was in the form of the gloom. It was such a surprising moment - an Elden Ring-ish type of discovery - that blew me away.
And these types of moments keep happening. Again. And again. This game is a GOAT. The Last of Us has always been my favorite game of all time, and I never thought anything could surpass it due to how I connected to it on so many different levels - but ToTK might overtake that spot, which is wild because I haven’t even scratched the surface of this game.
Zelda, with some more Zelda to change things up.
And did I mention Zelda yet?
Tears of the kingdom
Lego Drive
Mixolumia
Bust a move collection
@BaldBelper78 We're still waiting on code, unfortunately.
@Freek
Love this so damn much xD
Mostly TOTK.
Splatoon 3 as well for my daily catalog level ups.
I've been playing my Switch backlog lately and enjoyed almost every game I've played (No More Heroes 3 could be the one exception). Now finally going to start Bayonetta Origins. I've almost made up my mind to start it with the platinum code, I'm really affraid the game is otherwise too easy.
I will mix it up with Warioware GiT and Tetris Effect.
TotK like a lot of people. I'm surprised at how many shrines I've done. Just keep marking them on the map and going to them eventually.
The ones I've done have been really fun so far. Just going to keep taking my time.
One nice thing about a lot of shrines is that it creates a lot of quick teleporting points.
I am concentrating on about 5 games - which is probably too many at once.
All this hype got me into Breath of the Wild. I'm doing that at the moment and enjoying my time. I just beat the Divine Camel. I felt pretty accomplished by beating the puzzle part but admittedly had to look up how to get the boss in that stage - the electric part tricked me.
I'm playing Wonderful 101 for the first time and digging it hard. If you guys are doing the same don't forget all of the unlock codes they put out a few years ago. They are all over the internet.
Easy Come, Easy Golf is my favorite game atm in handheld mode. Picross, WarioWare Gold and Yo Kai Watch 3 when I'm on the porch having a cigar.
I'm near the end of Shin Megami Tensei V - got to wrap that one up but the grinding can be so brutal.
Hopefully I get some actual time to play TotK today. Most of my sessions have been around 30 minutes long, but I really need some time to sink in and marinade for a bit.
Besides Mega Man X DiVE, I'll play Tears of the Kingdom. I already got the Vows of Tulin AND Yunobo. I'm collecting Zonaite to increase the Energy Well Count, and I made this cool Flight Vehicle with two fans and a Steering stick, those are the only things necessary to make it! I'm gonna map Akkala and get the Travel Medallion, then save Lurelin Village from Pirates, and unlock more Tears in chronological order.
Outside of some cleaning, a graduation party I'll drop into for a bit ('tis the season!), most of my spare weekend time will go towards Tears of the Kingdom. This game is monstrous in size and scope. I've barely hit any plot points since I'm so busy exploring and trying to see a lot of each region as I unlock them. Delved into the depths a little last session, finished a lengthy side quest, and ran into a returning character.
I will get out for Fennekin Community Day in Pokemon Go tomorrow. Very nice weekend here, so I need to leave my Zelda cave and see this thing called a "Sun" every now and then. XD
Happy gaming!
Splatoon 3, it’s the one Switch game that has resonated with me the most of all Switch game, in fact, of all modern gaming, aside from MGS:V/Ground Zeros. Just started BOTW a few days ago, it’s just OK, but peaceful and relaxing.
Kaizo Mario Maker 2. Been getting back into it, and it's actually a lot of fun! School ends for me on Wednesday, so i'll probably be playing more after that but idk
Going old school with the Sega Genesis and NES online games. And maybe some Easy Come Easy Golf.
@Zuljaras I’d like to see your game collection one day, you have a wide array of cool stuff.
I’ll be on Tears of the kingdom as well. It’s a work weekend tho, and a Rainey one here. I’ll be playing late at night after I’ve done my daily grind and spent time with the family. I don’t know the last time I’ve been so over the moon on a game tho. I’ve lost sleep over this game haha.
No time for anything other than totk.
TOTK, obvs! I conquered the Fire Temple last night but I feel I've only just scratched the surface. I might also finish the last boss in my current playthrough of Resident Evil Village - started again when the third-person perspective DLC came out and have been going back to it intermittently.
@BlackMayge I'm at a similar spot as you iin terms of hours played (How some people binge games like this I have no idea; do they not sleep or have other responsibilities? ), though I keep getting sidetracked with Shrines, the occasional side quest, and exploration. I've barely hit on story at all, which is unusual for me in most games.
You didn't spoil me on anything as I delightfully came across the moment you mentioned...then promptly got my rear handed to me; need better gear + hearts lol. For future use, spoiler tags are [ spoiler ]text[ /spoiler ], but without the gaps between the word and brackets.
Sort of like this.
I'm still going through 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Tales of Arise. Although I am going to hangout with some of my coworkers this weekend so I may not get that much time.
After a busy week with not much time to play, I really hope to run around Hyrule some more and see what happens in Tears of the Kingdom this weekend.
I tamed a trusty old steed and have just been gallivanting to and fro and mostly ignoring the story thus far.
Zelda probably will have rescued herself by the time I find her! 😅
TOTK, and that'll very likely be my answer for the foreseeable future. SO much to discover & explore, and incredibly fun to do it all.
@Teksetter Yeah, I'm just exploring around and doing shrines- story can wait!
I’ve been cracking out the PS3 for some Demon’s Souls, lately. Gave the SF6 beta a go but it wasn’t really for me.
@shonenjump86 thanks for the golf suggestion the other weekend - that game is really well done. My favorite golf game in many, many years. was easily worth the 20spot.
Pikmin 3, Psychonaughts, Mk8d, Animal Crossing
@Yalloo I don't feel the Cereza code is as necessary now. The difficulty ramps up a bit right towards the mid-point. Not Bayonetta challenging but not a full cakewalk either. It feels really satisfying pulling off a cool combo without getting hit in combat.
So far it is my personal GOTY. I was wrong about it being like some indie not worth $60. It is worth more than 90% of full priced games released. Honestly it's one of Platinum's better games. They sold it too close to Bayo 3 and didn't take the right path marketing imo. I would have shelved it for a year or so after Bayo's release.
Labo walked so that Zelda could run.
I do like constructing to solve puzzles, but I am not doing any of my own experimental builds.
I will be playing FIGHT CRAB.
TOTK! Yesterday I had the best play session. It involved making jet skis and boats and all the drama in between and it was glorious. It exemplified how the ultra hand ability changes the game, your strategy, your goal. Just like BOTW did, TOTK has boosted my love for gaming yet again.
In cooling off periods from Zelden Ring, I’m trying to polish off the third modifier crown in Wildfrost, which is no easy feat!
Happy gaming everyone!
Nothing, no gaming for me on the weekend (as usual)
I’ve committed myself to finally finishing BotW before TotK (and I have a WAYS to go)… Am I crazy??? Hard to see that Tears copy unopened on my shelf, beckoning me! lol
Also need to finish Resident Evil 4 (Remake) and Dead Space (Remake). And Elden Ring…
Sensing a theme here…
Switch:
Steam
All these games here i´m playing more hours than $60 Mario Party Superstars here. Really...i think i will never pay for a game $60 again! LOL
TOTK. I am achieving nothing in real life nor in Hyrule. Too busy being distracted by things I see in the distance.
playing Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance and Metroid Prime 1 for my Gamecube this weekend
in Metroid Prime 1 last night i just got the x ray vision, the morph ball power bomb and grapple beam. Now doing some long winded backtracking for some areas and then head to some investigation at the Magmoor areas
These articles have gotten less exciting lately with 2/3rds of the people saying the same game. 😛 For myself, I'm playing:
3DS: Pop Cutie. Pop Cutie is a fashion game for the DS made by Koei. It's my second favorite fashion game after the Style Savvy games.
Switch: Harvestella. I know it doesn't have the best reviews, but I'm really enjoying it.
Gonna be Zelda for the next few months.
Right now, I'm replaying Doom Eternal, only now I'm playing it on Nintendo Switch thanks to my Limited Run Games copy.
This weekend i'll be playing
Sonic Adventure DX (PC): Focusing on Story Mode
Sonic Adventure 2 (PC): Focusing on Chao World
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (NS)
Xenoblade DE (NS)
While everyone else is still playing the new Zelda (which I will play! ...eventually), I'm making my way through The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures on Switch, my penultimate turnabout adventure and our first peek at Phoenix Wright's family tree. The story is a surprising twist on Ace Attorney tropes and manages to be just as engaging as the main series, even with the totally new cast of characters. The game takes place in 1901 and 1902, and the different legal system offers many fun new gameplay mechanics (and the uncanny inspiration from Layton vs. Wright in particular). But the best part is the Dances of Deduction with Herlock Sholmes. Whoever came up with that deserves a raise.
I'm currently on Episode 4: The Adventure of the Clouded Kokoro.
Well this weekend is gonna be pretty simple. Some Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for the Nintendo side of gaming. Otherwise playing some sets in the Street Fighter 6 Open Beta with my friends. Gotta get them JURI rounds in. Love her she’s my baby. Otherwise gonna continue Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The rival in that game is just Jedi Vergil and I love it. Also hoping to beat Xenoblade 3 on Monday. That game is just absolutely incredible. As for the anime it’s a Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero and The Cafè Terrace sort of weekend y’all. Have a good weekend everyone and happy gaming to all.
@Cashews Thanks, I have started without the code. So far it's a bit slow, but I do enjoy the feedback of the combat. What scares me a little is that I'm 10% into the game (according to the save menu) and feel like I am not really started with anything ... let's see.
Well part of me is gutted I’ve not got Tears of the Kingdom yet. However, I’m still only halfway thru Breath of the Wild.
Finished Metroid Prime Thursday night (what a game!!) so will probably get back to Breath of the Wild. See if I can force myself to like it this time lol. Big Zelda fan but this game just cannot hold my interest for too long. Worst 3D Zelda for me. Can’t put my finger in it…
Other than that I’ve slowly been working thru getting all the Green stars in Super Mario 3D World (underrated gem) and in the second half of The Messenger.
I beat Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, so I'm actually trying to figure out what I want to play. Believe it or not, I fired up StarTropics on NES NSO-- The game is like soul food for me, and it was nice taking it for a spin again. I did a little SMB3:SMA4 on GBA NSO, Kuru Kuru Kururin on GBA NSO, and Mario Picross on SNES NSO. But I think my "weekend" game is going to be continuing Winback on N64 NSO while I await the arrival of (hopefully) Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which will likely be next weekend's game.
Switch: Zelda BOTW. Third time play through and it finally clicked. Beforehand I did not understand the hype but now I do.
PSVR2: GT7 and RE village
I intend to play Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and maybe some Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. A little of Super Mario Advance 4: SMB 3, too, perhaps.
@TYRANACLES Thank you! And there you go! Those are my latest photos but still my collection is a little bigger now
TotK obviously… I only got to the surface of Hyrule a few days ago but it’s so good! I have no idea when I’ll finish it or make any substantial progress but it’s such a nice change of pace because I’m burnt out on Splatoon 3
@Cashews yeah, no problem. Honestly it’s my favorite sport game on the Switch.
Just finished 3 open world games in a row so not really eager to jump into Zelda at the moment. Just started a playthrough of borderlands the pre sequel to cure the burnout.
@Yalloo I felt the same way. I think I was under 5 hours and it was 25%. I was worried this was like a demo. Then it really slows down a bit. It took me roughly 10 hours to go from 25% to 50%.
No idea how they configure those percentages - it seems kinda random. The game is a very good length imo.
I'm finishing pikmin 2 on my wii u in anticipation for pikmin 4 as well as playing some 3ds games I got before it's eshop closed.
Tears of the Kingdom. Just got the Master Sword. Why does this game keep making me cry?! Been collecting this blade for decades and the devs still make it feel amazing.
I 100%-ed Tiny Troopers, to scratch my Cannon Fodder itch. It was very cheap and many hours of fun, just how I like my games.
Hi there fellow gamers.
STREET FIGHTER 6 OPEN BETA....... That´s it for the weekend 😉
Cheers and happy gaming weekend to us all
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - I loved the boat segment!
Imperia Online (Windows Phone) - Just started this one after finishing up on Jetpack Joyride.
More Zelda and that’s about it.
@Cashews cool, just reached 24% and thought "oh no" .. Also the long list of challenges reassured me, however they are called. Somehow Alfheim spoke to me, this new name Tir na Ogh of so .. not so much.
The game reminds me of Death's Door somehow, which I played recently.
Anyways, it slowly grows on me, the begining was just too long with the story, having done the Bayonetta games. Now it seems a bit shorter/more spread out.
just started tears yesterday the intro was incredible seeing ganondorf speaking to them.
What the f**k do you think I'm playing, Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of The Kingdom, and Kirby: Forgotten Land.
After finishing Chained Echoes, which was fine but ultimately underwhelming, I’m revisiting one of the best RPGs of all time: Lunar. Only a few hours in, and this game is wonderful; filled with so much heart, imagination, and a sense of adventure.
I am actually not playing Zelda this weekend. I am playing only on PS5 and the games I am playing are Humanity and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. They are both fantastic titles in their own right, and are great companions when played in conjunction.
Finished up Trails to Azure. Can't get myself into TotK yet since I finally just completed BotW and it would be burnout (it was my first game on Switch, so it was overdue).
Launching into Death's Door and Persona 4!
@MischiefMaker I adore Quake until the enemies get kind of terribad.
I’ve been keeping busy with Hogwarts Legacy. I just unlocked the Room of Requirement, and have proceeded to plaster one wall with dozens of the same painting, and cover the floor in yellow pumpkins.
Played a little Jedi: Survivor on PS5. Will love to play more TotK eventually, but it was too close to the same gameplay with very different controls and I didn’t want to undo my “training” until I eventually get some more free time and finish the Jedi: Survivor (which I’m loving). I did watch my daughter playing TotK in the background and it has all the BotW charm and draw, so I’m looking forward to it.
@LikelySatan Yeah, I especially hate those little blue things that jump at you! Spawn I think they’re called? Give me a chainsaw-wielding grenade thrower any day…
i has been playing Tears of the Kingdom for 6 days and still has not beat any of the Regional Phenoma quest, i focusing on increasing my stamina, hearts, inventory, and getting the Dragons Tears and i just got Autobuild, i gonna do Regional Phenoma in the following order: wind, fire, water and lighting, while also getting the sensor+ ,Hero Path and Travel Medalion, i plan to do this, as soon as a complete the Wind Dungeon.
@MischiefMaker yuuuuuup. That game feels incredible to play but man those enemies...
I'm fairly certain Nightmare Reaper has the gun you're looking for, lol. Game is way better than it has any right to be.
Also, Boltgun tomorrow!
Persona 4 Golden
