Batman Arkham Trilogy Is Bringing The Caped Crusader To Switch This October

Ooooh yeaaaah, but also bad hahahaha. My purchase for that month was supposed to be MGS Vol 1. I need to do some serious thinking hahaha.

Considering Arkham City is the only game I absolutely want on my Switch, I'll probably just buy that one by itself digitally when it goes on sale since it doesn't come on the physical cart anyway and I'd rather not give up a likely massive chunk of SD card space just for Arkham Knight.

Just waiting for physical copies to go on discount. The most I will pay is $30 for a physical copy of AA combined with digital copies of AC and AK.

Yeap I'll just get this for Arkham Asylum, the other two are just bonus DLC.

My wallet is gonna be real sore this October...

It's a shame that this collection does not include Arkham Origins.

Nice! Will pickup next year at BF. Taking some time off from buying new games. Did it by accident due to TotK and really realized I don't need to buy anything else for a long while, so putting the money to other things, and I have gamepass which also adds some random variety to my library (or gives me full access to things I would normally buy outright on switch). I will admit I'm surprised because there are honestly a TON of games coming out that I want... but they will be there next year or the year after. There is nothing like shaking the consumer itch. I feel like I got a raise. LMAO.

Hmm. Will it be like the bioshock collection or does the physical come with 2 download codes? 🙈

@Sambuc That's cause it's a trilogy, not a quadrilogy.

@Sambuc I could see them possibly porting it if the Trilogy sells well, especially since there is a WiiU build to work from. Perhaps even toss in the Blackgate game.

Red dead redemption (physical), metal gear solid and batman trilogy. That’s a lot of awesome 3d party support for 1 month.

Will Arkham Knight even run decently on Switch? Considering Asylum and City were Xbox360/ps3 games I can imagine the Switch running those two, but Arkham Knight?

I’ve been thinking about playing some of this again, and this has convinced me to play the PS4 versions I already have on disc that should hopefully run better than this.

October is already packed enough with releases, so Batman will have to wait for a price drop. Especially since only Asylum will be on the cart. I've been waiting years for these games to come to Switch. It's nice to see them finally arriving soon.

Please be good, please run at a smooth framerate. By far some of my favorite games ever

@DudeshootMankill Asylum and City are 360 games, they will run great. Everyone is more curious on how Knight will run since that's an Xbox One/PS4 title. (Though there are a number of XB1/PS4 titles on Switch already)

@SwagaliciousJohnson if the Switch can run Witcher 3, Doom, Doom Eternal, etc. I'm sure it will run Arkham Knight well enough. It won't look anywhere near as gorgeous as it does on other platforms but that's a given.

@JenerossiTea hopefully by the end of next year switch games will look as good and have better frame rates as the ps4 or ps4 pro..

@SwagaliciousJohnson Arkham Knight is right in that same development/release that Witcher 3 and Dying Light hang out in so hopefully we see a similarly solid conversion.

Sorry Batman! Got my preordered Spidey 2 swinging in the following week which will likely have my undivided attention!... Plus my insane existing backlog is already screaming like mad at me 😅
Might pick up the trilogy in a sale down the road.

Played Arkham City on the Wii U. It's a fine game, but it also proved you were not missing anything as a Nintendo-only player.

The one I'm really worried about here is Arkham City, since even on the PS4 and Xbox it's kind of a mess of a port.

Still curious about this lot though, been wanting to replay the games for awhile and they're good fits for the Switch. My favorite of them's probably Asylum but City definitely has its strong points too. Also Knight exists.

Can't wait to play as the Joker kicking someone's balls. On the go.

Physical collector here - does this mean there’s a one time code for the other two, or just a required download when you pop in the disk?

Seems like a minor difference but it determines how much game you get if you buy a used cartridge.

I really like that artwork. I don’t think I’ll be getting this one, as Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Sonic Superstars, and Forza Motorsport are all coming out around that same time.

I’ve never played these, so I’ll definitely be getting them… hopefully I won’t need an SD card though, because that would require me to buy a new console 😬

This trilogy and Read Dead Redemption were my most wished games to play on the go. It does not matter to me if these are digital or physical.

@BabyYoda71 why? you can easily move data from one SD card to another. Or just swap em like they were games.

I hope they will be released seperatly because I only want Arkham City.
I think these will be the UE4 revisions that they made later on.
Atleast the physX effects will be intact cuz of the Nvidia Hardware.

I only intend to get Super Mario Bros. Wonder that month, and I may just get the Batman: Arkham Collection bundle (which includes all of the three games in question) for my PS5 some other time.

As long as Asylum is on the cart, I’m happy! I’ve wanted to play it for a long time, due to its acclaim and because I enjoyed City.

But yeah, my current backlog of games is so monstrous, who knows when I’ll get to play this?
Let alone what I’ve got preordered and due in by year’s end. I’m waiting for Mario Wonder, Mario RPG, Pikmin 1&2, Ray’z Arcade Chronology, DoDonpachi Resurrection, Y’s X: Nordics, Super Bomberman R2, and Taito LD Collection, among others.

I was supposed to buy fewer games this year! 😓

@Ryu_Niiyama I fell off gaming hard a few weeks after TotK released and haven't really recovered my mojo in that regard.

I thought I was gonna launch straight into Starfield, but now I'm not even sure when I'll be getting to it!

I still enjoy the hobby, but I feel like my current hardware and backlog/Game Pass will last me years. Meanwhile, I now have more time and money for other stuff in my life.

@dskatter @khululy Sorry for not being clear, the reader on my Switch broke. I have multiple SD cards, but my Switch won’t read them. The cost to fix it would be cheaper to just buy a new Switch, but I’ve been procrastinating.

@Ralizah same, I am still working on TotK (no free time and less interested in gaming right now) so I realized that there is no need to buy new games unless I am worried about a delisting.

I am sorta going back and forth on Starfield. I don’t enjoy SciFi in general (my educational background means I can’t turn my brain off and accept it they way I can with fantasy) so I’m excited for a new Bethesda universe but then meh about the theme. They are trying to use NASA as an influence so it’s more grounded in possible reality but I am worried I will bounce off of it hard. Only so much Skyrim I can play. Lol.

I'll be interesting when it comes and try to see how it shackles up on Switch. The swansong impossible port?

@Teksetter If it helps the Arkham games are not long. Maybe if you try for all the riddles, but it's really not hard to comfortably knock out the main story of Asylum and City in like two or three days and if you put the time into it you could probably do it in one without too much struggle.

@Samick I can only assume the reason they haven't ported Origins anywhere is its code must be an utter mess. Game kind of always ran poorly in some way or other regardless of how you played it so my guess is it's too much trouble to bother trying to get it working on other consoles.

That being said what I don't understand is why it's not available digitally on Xbox. It is backwards compatible but for whatever reason only physically.

Thank you for the encouragement! What you’re saying sounds possible, though not all that probable for me. I play games at a snail’s pace, grinding away and uncovering all the secrets and side quests I can find. In games, as in life, I’m just too easily distracted! It’s part of the reason why my backlog has has ballooned so much.

Slow pace of play + FOMO on physical releases + not a lot of time to play + really like games + poor money management = big backlog. 😅

Still, I’ll have some chunks of time this winter to make some concerted efforts and properly enjoy a few titles. Maybe Bats will be one of them! I’ll try to drop you a line if I do!

@JenerossiTea I heard the Arkham Asylum and City ports are based of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions and not the RTA version.
