Re: Poll: What Score Would You Give To The Super Mario Bros. Movie?

P-Man

I think an 8/10. I seriously loved this movie just because it was Mario, and I am NOT ashamed of it! The visuals, the music, the references, all of it was so incredible to finally see. Mario has been a seriously important part of my life for so long, and it really just made me happy to see an adventure of his unfold on the big screen. That said, my main issue with the film was the pacing. I felt like they didn’t take nearly enough time to develop some of their ideas or relationships in the movie, which is weird because they CHOSE to make it so short. My only wish is that they would have made the movie longer to make the pacing a bit better. Aside from that, I really loved this movie and I can’t wait for potential sequels.

For singleplayer I’m going to be continuing Persona 5 Royal. I’m currently playing the part right after the 4th palace. I’ll also be playing Super Mario Bros. 3 through SNES Switch Online.

For multiplayer I’ll be playing Fortnite, Smash Ultimate, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 25th)

For singleplayer I’ll be continuing Persona 5 Royal and Metroid Prime Remastered. I finished the 3rd palace in P5R and I just finished the exam week in July. I definitely am looking forward to playing more. I just got the X-Ray Visor in Metroid Prime Remastered, so my time with the game is slowly but surely coming to a close. I also kind of want to play some Mario this weekend, but I have no idea which game. Maybe Mario 3? We’ll see.

For multiplayer I’ll probably be playing Fortnite and Mario Kart for the most part.

Re: Talking Point: What's The Best Year In Gaming?

P-Man

2017 for me. Many of my favorite games of all time were released that year, including Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. There were so many other amazing games too: Sonic Mania, Persona 5, Splatoon 2, Cuphead, Metroid Samus Returns, etc. 2017 was just such a great year for games across the board, and especially for Nintendo.

For singleplayer, I’ve got a few games I’m playing right now. I just finished the main story of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and I have to say, I didn’t really enjoy it too much. It only got interesting for me in the final world, which was only a couple of levels. I’m probably going to play Magolor Epilogue and maybe the Arena, but that’ll likely be it for me. I’m also still playing Metroid Prime Remastered. I’m currently at the Phazon Mines, and I’m making steady progress overall. I’ll also be playing Persona 5 Royal, which I haven’t played in a few months. I left off right at the beginning of the 3rd palace, so I’m excited to jump back in.

For multiplayer, I think it’ll just be Fortnite this weekend.

Re: Poll: What Other GameCube Title Deserves A '10/10' Remake Or Remaster?

P-Man

Definitely Super Mario Sunshine. There are so many amazing things about it, but there are also so many frustrating things about it. If they could go back and fix the bad stuff, it might become one of my top 5 favorite Mario games.

I’d also love to see Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, as they did such a wonderful job with Metroid Prime Remastered.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 4th)

P-Man

For singleplayer, I finally managed to find a copy of Metroid Prime Remastered (I’m still shocked about it), so I’ll definitely be playing that. I’ll also be playing Kirby’s Return to DreamLand Deluxe some more, as well as probably more GTA V story mode.

For multiplayer, I’ll be playing Smash Ultimate, Modern Warfare II, Fortnite, and GTA V Online.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 25th)

P-Man

For singleplayer, I will unfortunately not be playing Metroid Prime Remastered, as it is sold out everywhere, but I will be Kirby’s Return to DreamLand Deluxe for the first time, so that should be fun. I will also be playing more of the GTA V story mode, as well as a bit of GTA III on my Switch when I want a break from Kirby.

For multiplayer I will be playing GTA V Online, Fortnite, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and whatever else my friends and I decide to play.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 18th)

P-Man

I’m currently waiting for later this week to play Metroid Prime Remastered and Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe, but I am still playing a few games to pass the time.

For singleplayer I’m playing GTA V story mode on my Xbox. I honestly never gave the story mode a fair shot when I first got the game a year ago, but I have to say, I am loving it so far. I got way more into it than I thought I would. I’m also playing Metroid II: The Return of Samus on Gameboy NSO, and it’s fine. It’s about what I expected from Metroid on Gameboy, but I love Metroid anyway, so I don’t mind.

For multiplayer, I’ll mostly be playing Fortnite with friends.

P-Man

For singleplayer, I’ll be playing Super Mario Odyssey as I once again get on the road to 100% completion, and Forza Horizon 5, which I just got the Hot Wheels Expansion for.

For multiplayer I’ll be bouncing between Smash Ultimate, Modern Warfare II, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Overwatch 2.

Re: Talking Point: What Is The Most Frustrated You've Ever Been With A Video Game?

P-Man

Probably while playing Cuphead and fighting King Dice. I had been trying for a LONG time to make it to the actual part where you fight King Dice, and I was so close to winning, but I barely lost. I ended up spiking my controller, which broke the ZL button completely. I had to spend $70 on a new one. Needless to say, I have learned my lesson and have never spiked a controller since that day.

For singleplayer, despite finally 100% completing Breath of the Wild last weekend, I think I want to start a new save file to continue playing. The Tears of the Kingdom hype is really getting to me right now! I’m also playing Cadence of Hyrule right now. I don’t really know what my objective is, so I’ve just been going all across the map right now, and it’s been quite fun.

For multiplayer, I’ll likely continue playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with my friends, and Splatoon 3 by myself.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 7th)

P-Man

For singleplayer I have great time ahead of me. I’ll finally be finishing Breath of the Wild once and for all by collecting the last Korok seeds in the game. It’s honestly really surreal that after so much time playing this game (my favorite of all time), I’ll finally be finishing it off this weekend. Needless to say, I am ecstatic for Tears of the Kingdom in only a few months. I’ll also potentially be playing Cadence of Hyrule. It’s on sale right now and it looks really interesting, so considering I’m on a Zelda kick right now, it just makes sense to go for it.

For multiplayer, I’ll be playing Splatoon 3 for the splatfest. I’m on Team Sweet, and I reached champion level last night. I’ll also likely be playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Smash Ultimate with friends.

Re: Talking Point: What Game Do You Replay Every Year?

P-Man

I mostly replay games on a basis of whatever I feel like playing at the time, but I do replay mainline Mario games (particularly 3D ones) a TON. I probably replay every 3D Mario at least once a year, and usually I do most of them more than once.

Re: Soapbox: If You Thought Last Year Was "Sad" For Switch, 2023 Might Be Hard To Handle

P-Man

2022 was a weird year for Nintendo to me. Going in, I was expecting one of the best years of the Switch by a wide margin. Splatoon 3 and Tears of the Kingdom alone were enough for me, not to mention potential unannounced games. I did love Splatoon 3 and Kirby and the Forgotten Land, but those really felt like the only super significant releases to me. Legends Arceus didn’t grab me, I didn’t play Nintendo Switch Sports, Mario Strikers Battle League was fairly disappointing, I wasn’t interested in Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes or Xenoblade 3, I haven’t played Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and I didn’t play Scarlet or Violet. That really does only leave Kirby and Splatoon for major stuff to me. I think 2022 was kind of a hit or miss for most people. You either loved nearly everything, or weren’t interested in much.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 31st)

P-Man

For singleplayer, I’ve jumped back into Breath of the Wild for Korok hunting. I think I’m finally going to be able to make a final push over the next couple of days to officially finish off the game before Tears of the Kingdom. I may also do another run of Bowser’s Fury as a nice change of pace from Zelda.
For multiplayer, I won’t be able to play anything until Sunday, but my friends and I have been mostly playing Smash Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe lately.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 17th)

P-Man

Haven’t commented on one of these in a while, as I’ve been super busy recently, but I’ll finally have some time for gaming this weekend.

For singleplayer, I haven’t really been playing anything in particular lately. I have a lot of games that I’m looking into buying, but that probably won’t be for another week or so. For now, I’ve basically just been playing Forza Horizon 5 whenever I feel like it.

For multiplayer, I’ve been playing a lot more lately. My friends and I have been playing Fortnite, Modern Warfare II, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate a lot recently. It has been really nice to have a variety of games to play, as it makes each play session feel fresh.
