Ringfit adventure and fitness boxing as usual. Expedition 33 on ps5, what a game! I was hoping I'd finish it before the switch 2 but I'm not so sure, I'll be cutting it close if I do. I did want to play some switch 1 games, kinda of a last hoorah type of thing, I was thinking of finally getting to the end game of Pokémon violet, or having a runaround in xenoblade 3 or totk but this isn't looking likely. Only so many hours in a day, and so little time before the new console comes into my life.
For the first time in a while I have a small handful of games on half. I'm a couple of hours into citizen sleeper 2, I enjoyed it but went a few weeks without playing it. Might have to restart now. Echoes of Wisdom I'm about 25 hours into, needed a break after a while, now I think I'll just wait for the switch 2 update. Expedition 33, this is likey my goty. I don't really know if anything will touch it. I'm only 15 hours in so that could change but so far this is my priority. I also want to pick up blue Prince. It's meant to be good. Also there's doom on the horizon but with the switch around the corner and I'm still trudging through Expedition I don't know if I'll get to it anytime soon.
I changed my buying habits a while back when I got the ps5. I'm willing to spend £70 plus on certain games (Elden Ring, Red Dead 2 and TOTK, games that are both very high in the quality and quantity department) but for most it's a case of wait for the sale nowadays.
My answer is an obvious one, Zelda. Xeno 4 would be a close follow up. I really love Splatoon but I think after pouring in as many hours as I have into them a fourth one would have to do something a bit new and fresh to get me interested.
I can't help but feel it'll be updated for the switch 2 in some way so I'm gonna wait a bit longer before jumping in. Glad it's living up to the hype though, xeno 3 is one of my favourite switch games, top 3 at least.
How the times have changed, if at the begining you told me the game I couldn't live without on switch would be a fitness game.... I don't know what I would have said 🤣 (Ring Fit of course) it's just become too essential to my life. But my favourite games are TOTK, Spaltoon 2 and Xeno 3. Stuff like Three Houses, Legends Arcues, SSB Ultimate, Neon White and Nobody Saves the World are close behind.
I think the switch is my favourite console I've ever owned, it's either that or the ps3 anyways. Truth be told I don't think it's in dire need of a replacement, but clearly the end is nigh, it's earned it rest (unless ringfit adventure isn't backwards compatible in which case it'll keep on going)
They had the advantage of most people missing out on the Wii u for the switch, a bunch of rereleases filled the gaps and slow periods. With the switch 2 being backwards compatible that advantage is lost. At least that's how I see it.
I'm expecting between 450 and 550 (in UK pounds) which would be fine by me, but there's rumours it'll only be 400 which is way cheaper than I would have thought, guess we'll all wait and see.
I'm hoping both ringfit and fitness boxing games carry over, though as soon as they said certain games where exempt I predicting the worst. If they made a new ringfit however then that would be fine.
Fitness Boxing 3, after milking the demo for all it's worth I think the full game will be just about worth the upgrade from 'fist of the north' star edition. I'm considering Slay the Princess, it's meant to be good and it's on sale. Other than those probably not much Nintendo wise. I've got echoes of wisdom on half for a rainy day.
Just finished Stellar Blade on my ps5. Good action game, glad I gave it a go. My next plan was cyberpunk which I bought on black Friday but my brother's got a month of game pass on Xbox so I'll be taking advantage of that. I've been playing Indiana Jones this morning, I was enjoying it until I hit a glitch with the camera and whip and can't proceed. Really annoying. Guess I'll play hellblade 2 until a patch comes out.
I really wanted to like this game but I just couldn't get into it. Had a smidge of fun with the arena mode but the campaign didn't pull me in like the anime did.
Ringfit Adventure today, the fitness boxing 3 demo tomorrow. I don't know if it'll be a big enough upgrade over fist of the north star version to warrant buying but I'll see. I've randomly decided to give tablet gaming a go. I've had a nice tablet that cost me a penny or two for a while now and I finally thought I should give it a proper test, currently playing lol wild rift, never played those games before but after arcane I'm in the mood. Enjoying it so far.
My DS was a Pokémon machine when I was a kid, so Gen IV/V are at the top. New Super Mario Bros was the last 2D Mario game I enjoyed so that's there. Worms Armageddon, I would spend hours with the stylist making custom maps. The World Ends With You is a classic. And I'm struggling a bit to remember what else. Despite loving the DS as a kid I didn't play that many games on it.
I'll go for my ring fit adventure session tomorrow. Other than that I don't know.
I've got playthroughs going on echoes of Wisdom, metaphor and Kunitsu-gami path of the goddess, but I don't think I'll get to any of them this weekend. Kinda not in a gaming mood. Instead I'm attempting once again to learn how to draw. I've tried many times but I think my hands are too shaky these days to pick it up, none the less I'll give it another go.
Also finally got back into reading (or reading things that aren't manga 😅), lent a book frpm my brother called retribution falls and it's kick ass so far, steampunk pirates with a cowboy bebop style cast was how it was described to me and so far it lives up to it.
@Bobobiwan the last xeno took me a year too finish (I like to savour my games these days) so looks like my switch will last me until at least 2026! Not that I'm complaining, it's going down as my all time favourite console now
Ringfit Adventure, I hurt my back and wrist a while back and since then my exercise has dwindled and I think I've started to put a smidge of weight on, so back too it! I'm annoyed by how much my fitness has collapsed but I've managed to get it back to 20 minutes a go, that's a start. Other than that, Echoes of Wisdom, Gravity Rush 2 and Metaphor are my games on the go, whether or not I get to them this weekend or not I'm not sure, I'll probably be busy tomorrow watching the Aew Ppv (c'mon Mox!)
I've abandoned most of my backlog, a decision I'm happy with. Now that I've finished TOTK ( which took me over a year ) I'm left with the final two splatfests, metroid zero mission, Echoes of Wisdom .. and I think that's it. Depending on whether legnds ZA and Silksong are also next gen games I'm pretty much done for this gem of a console.
Go all in I say! Full on final fantasy 7 remake style upgrade. Nothing wrong with a bit of ambition, even if it turns out bad it wouldn't swipe the OG from the history books
I say anything 3 generations back or further is retro, so PS2, GameCube etc. But I don't know if I'll feel that way when it's the ps3/Wii's time. Something about those games feel too similar to the games we got today, like not enough has advanced. It would be hard to call them retro but not modern games as well.
Just the splatfest for me. I thought it was scheduled for next weekend when I'm away. Figured I'd miss it but it all turned out well in the end #TeamSameOld!
I haven't come across many games that I feel hit the sweet spot, in fact I'm struggling to think of any at all. Journey might be the best example, though it has the advantage of being only an hour long.
I haven't finished TOTK yet (I'm in no rush to finish it, I'll only have too wait another 6+ years for the next one), but I have put more time into it than my first playthrough of BOTW and my current opinion is.... TOTK is better. The Crafting is real awesome, the three layer approach to the open world is very cool. The story appears a smidge more serious and darker (but by no means 'the darkest' Zelda).
I predict a link between worlds remake shall be a year one 'next gen' game. Most of the switches life had at least one Zelda game a year, that slowed down a bit towards the end thanks to TOTK but I think they'll want to get back to it with a new console coming out. I also think Awakening will get a remake to tide us over until the next new FE. I wouldn't purchase either of these though as I've already got both of them but I think they'd be cool for those who haven't.
"Er, no achievements on switch?" Sounds like a massive plus to me! I didn't get around to this on xbox so chances are if I do end up playing it (Which I hope I do) it'll probably end up being on switch.
This game looks really, really cool. Hopefully I'll get around to playing it (provided it ends up anywhere near as good as it looks) Between this and (fingers crossed) Silksong I think I'll be getting my fill on metroidvanias this year 👍

This would be a great complimentary game to Mario kart for switch 2's launch. Fingers crossed but I'll believe it when it's official.

I'll go with the switch one, quality over quantity, botw is the best launch game ever.
