It’s probably a bit late in the lifecycle of the Switch now tbh. That boat has sailed.

I'm enjoying this although the first couple of hours dragged. Performance is a bit stuttery but not game breaking as it's not an action game. Visuals are not up to par, but you could say the same about Stardew Valley, that said the graphics should be better from a full priced game & in this aspect the Dragon Quest name deserves better. Fun game though!

@MirrorFate2 That is all I wanted to know. With over $1.2US billion worth of revenue just counting physical sales ONLY ($60 per copy X 22 million sold) Game Freak & The Pokemon Company are too tight to fix the performance. Disgusting!

After the lackluster sales of the Wii U and very early in the lifecycle of the Switch we found out about joycon drift it would’ve been a brave person to predict this level of success. The drift put me off buying the system for about 12 months but I caved due to the great games and the portability factor and I don’t regret it. Developing all your games for one console instead of spreading it over 2 (Wii U / 3DS) made the difference

After watching the new Vision trailer I don’t think this is a sequel. It looks like it’s a remaster with additional content such as 2 extra job classes, making it a “deluxe” version of the 3DS game. If that’s the case I’m beyond disappointed.

@Limberlost That would be pretty awesome but me thinks that is about as likely as us getting a localised version of Yokai Watch 4 which they promised us at Anime Expo 2019, 4 years later we are still waiting with no updates. Pretty rude really.

I wouldn’t be surprised with how Level 5 games are being delayed that this releases late 2025 or even 2026 and by this time they’ll be no “steam” left in the Switch. This may end up releasing on the next gen Switch at this rate

Midly interested in this so good to get an update. A few games have gone quiet like Weird West and Biomutant. Hope those are still coming to Switch too (not 2)

This is the first time I’ve ever played it and after being spoilt with Octo Traveller 2 & Dragon Quest XI this sucks in comparison

It’s $45 AUD (approx $30 US) which seems very steep. I don’t think they put it on the Aussie eshop by “mistake” somehow. I’m sure they have their reasons.

They over-promised and under-delivered in a MASSIVE way. I understand you need to take the time to get the game right but in February this year you state Inazuma 11, Fantasy Life & Decapolice all to be released in 2023 & ALL of them get delayed in to 2024 well that’s just an epic fail.

No kidding it’s delayed. It’s November with no release date, there’s a snowball’s chance in hell that this comes out this year

Actions speak louder than words. Words are cheap and I find it tiresome. So far we’ve basically got Ori & Minecraft in the Switch generation which is slim pickings. Let’s wait and see.

Fantasy Life, Decapolice & Inazuma Eleven are all scheduled to release in 2023. I'm guessing none will. Whilst extra time to get the games right is always the right course of action, over-promising & under-delivering in the first place creates frustration.

Try scrolling through the eshop it’s so laggy. Need to fix the responsiveness of the eshop

It's good that you give us a heads up on games that require a hefty download as I won't buy NBA2K series because there's a 50GB download yet I bet people bought this not knowing & not having enough storage to play their purchase.

Legacy Edition

Kinda sick of the talk and just want to see it happen. The Wii U got a COD game, it would be nice as a show of goodwill to port an old game like Advanced Warfare for current Switch gen owners before releasing new COD games simultaneously on all next gen platforms including Switch 2

Wouldn’t mind this but the price point is a bit much for a 2006 game. The Switch now has so many games that charging a “Switch tax” is likely to get your game passed over. This needs a significant sale for me to jump in.

I don’t even know why they bother with having a patch note like this. It’s so vague and as unspecific as possible that it means NOTHING

I bought this and have sunk a couple of hours in and overall it’s good. I had a sound glitch so I had to reset it but it’s easily the best NFL game on the Switch

It’s a 10GB download and I’m guessing there’s no physical release. Tough sell for me.

I won’t be getting the DLC. Very disappointed with the main game. Fool me once….

I find it astonishing that a state of the art game with cutting edge graphics like this from a major publisher released with these issues

I’m not sure I’m going to get it because the reviews for this are mixed but I’m very happy that these type of big budget 3rd party major franchises are being released on my beloved Switch.

Love the mechanics of this even though I'm not a fan of the graphical style. Love seeing a 2D platformer priced affordably, am I pointing the finger at Super Mario wonder? LOL

October is ridiculous. I think it might be the best month for games in the history of the Switch with insane 3rd party support. So far we've got coming in October the physical of Red Dead Redemption, Batman Trilogy, Metal Gear Collection, Borderlands 3, Super Mario Wonder, Sonic Superstars, Detective Pikachu as well as some smaller but great games like Wild Card Football, Disgaea 7, Hot Wheels 2 and heaps more. There's no relief in November cos that's stacked too. My poor wallet.

Why do they purchase them to shut them down months later. I don’t get it

I doubt I’ll pay $60 for a 2D platformer. Back in 1995 I would’ve paid full price though. I’m curious to see if a 2D platformer is Nintendo Direct worthy. Who knows maybe it is special enough to change my mind.

Seriously the 2nd half of this year is ridiculously stacked, more stacked than at anytime in the history of the Switch IMO. So much 3rd party support i.e. Batman, Red Dead, Persona, Level 5 games, then you’ve got Mario RPG & Wonder and sooo much more. My wife will be looking at the bank statement and asking me questions for sure. LOL

@Cashews Yeh & Nintendo Life don't mention it in their NBA2K reviews, like the size doesn't matter & we've got infinite space. Yet for myself it's critical in my buying decision. After the poor framerate & performance of Scarlet/Violet I actually don't even care if they don't announce a new game. My excitement for Pokemon is definitely dying with every disappointing release. If Game Freak continue in this trajectory they'll end up destroying the IP in much the same way that Sega have destroyed Sonic for me. I used to love Sonic & now like most people I hardly care when a new Sonic game comes out because you can't trust the quality. Game Freak need to lift their game.

@Reptilio You’re on point. $60 for a 2D sidescrolling platformer might’ve moved units in 1993 but 30 years later in 2023 not so much. The game will probably sell well but it’s unlikely to get people to buy a Switch imo.

Some of these sales figures have not been updated since 2021? Nintendo don’t release digital sales figures so what are they hiding? The first thing that comes to my mind is questions around tax but as I have no idea I’d love to know what everyone else thinks is the reason Nintendo don’t report digital sales. Also why isn’t this discussed?

I don’t understand why Nintendo put effort into an event which takes a few hours. Time/cost vs reward doesn’t add up. Add more permanent content instead would be preferable
