It’s probably hard to quantify but I’d be interested to know if this 21% increase is skewed towards growth mainly in shovelware or if we’ve seen an increase in game releases with the major publishers too.

I actually want Tactica more as I loved SMTDS2 so this will scratch that itch. We’ve already got mainline Persona games on Switch so that’s ok.

Pass for me, it's over 30GB which is twice the size of Tears Of The Kingdom. Even though I have a 1TB microSD card, space is too precious for me that I can't justify that amount of space for just a fighting game. If I was a fighting game fanboy the answer would probably be different though.

Lost Child is US$5 right now. Decent alternative to Etrian Odyssey, at this price it’s a no-brainer.

@Thief - You could well be right here. I reckons Tactics is about 90% chance that it's coming to Switch as it looks similar graphically to P5R & Strikers which run fine on Switch also it's a late 2023 release. P3RE I would guess to be a 50% chance, mainly because the 2024 release date, we could be transitioning to a new system. It does use Unreal engine though which is used for heaps of games on the Switch & graphically it looks like the Switch could run it which is why I think there's still a good chance we get this. Less likely than Tactics though. Edit: The update to this story with the P3RE Switch box art whilst not confirmed makes it much higher than 50% now. Yay!

The Pokemon Games are great but the best turn based RPG’s on the Switch that I’ve played is Octopath Traveler II & Dragon Quest XI.

I like the pricing but will definitely wait for reviews. This had been rumored for a while.

Atlus also released Persona 4 Golden a much more modern & bigger game for $20 so it’s bizarre that they would charge $40 for each of these. I will wait for a sale as I feel it’s a ripoff at this price

@Ooyah I’m not sure. I feel like Mario Sports games are losing popularity because the quality isn’t as high anymore. If a TV series or movie franchise starts to disappoint people move on to something else. Pokemon need to deliver quality games that run well as fans will at some point stop handing over their hard earned $$ if they don’t. Pokemon are playing a stupid and risky game by serving up this rubbish. EVERYTHING has a tipping point.

2 weeks before TOTK came out. I picked ip BOTW because it was in my backlog. Well I bought TOTK and have played less than 1 hour because I can’t put BOTW down.

I used to buy every Mario Sports game because they used to be great. I haven’t bought Strikers after the reviews and being underwhelmed with Mario Golf. The same will happen with Pokemon if they consistently start releasing rush jobs like Scarlet/Violet. Consumers will not continuously spend premium money e.g $60+ if the product is not premium.

Hopefully it’s not over 30GB like MK11. Even with my 1TB microSD card I struggle for space.

I’m flabbergasted that a 2D platformer is in development hell because if Team Cherry ever decided to develop a 3D open world game it would take them 600 years.

Like everyone else I’m not sure whether to get this or Zelda TOTK.

They actually need to do this with nearly their whole catalogue as most of their games are more expensive than Nintendo first party AAA titles like Mario, Pokemon, Kirby, etc.

I agree with the pro controller being number one bit the drifty joy cons that are too small and often disconnect should be dead last as they break, they’re way too expensive and they just plain suck.

@SpaceboyScreams You might be right. 6 years for a sky area and a fuse and rewind mechanic with no new maps sounds lazy when you put it like that. I hope there’s more….

Can’t wait for this. DQXI is the best turn based rpg on the Switch with only Octopath Traveler II coming close.

I love Inazuma 11 and excited to see the other franchises return. I clocked over 900 hours into Yokai Watch 3 on the 3DS so was hoping for Yokai Watch 4 but oh well, still excited.

If that’s the case I hope the deal goes through as I would like COD portably even at 30 fps.

Probably should’ve always been free for the loyal Pokemon fanbase. Incredibly stingy practice and poor form for the ultra rich Pokemon Company. I bet it’ll shut down completely in the next 12 - 24 months as the Pokemon Company are not generous. I hope I’m wrong. I know it’s a business and not a charity but certain practices need to be called out

I put off getting Stardew Valley for so long because the graphics stink yet I loved it and put over 100 hours in. (I still hate the graphics) This game looks lovely but will the gameplay hold up?

Put us out of our misery and localise Yokai Watch 4. Level-5 announced they were localising it in 2019 and although they stated that they’re closing their western branch Level 5 Abby they’ve never stated that the localisation of YW4 is cancelled so we continue to wait……..

3 months ago if you told me Level-5 were coming back with a new Prof Layton & Fantasy Life game for the west I would’ve been over the moon. On top of this we’re getting a new IP and maybe a new Inazuma 11 game (I had Inazuma 11 Go Shadow for the 3DS and it rocked) Level-5 were the highlight of the direct for me. With all this I’m still a little salty as I want Yo-Kai Watch 4 more than any other game. I’ve logged over 800 hours in Yo-Kai Watch 3.

IGN only gave it a 7. It’s currently sitting at a metacritic score of 84 for the Switch version

Pokemon fans will lap this up. No-brainer at this price.

Hope it has a physical release without a day one patch rendering the cart worthless. This looks great though.

The $70 price tag is therefore easier to digest if it’s all on the cart as it would not fit on a 16GB cart. If however there’s a day one download of 2GB or more and they’re using a 16GB cart then imo it’s a cash grab

It’s a good game with plenty of content but the glitches, pop-in and crashes is a disgrace from a full priced game selling over 10 million copies. The revenue for Scarlet/Violet will exceed half a billion dollars (do the math) and they release it in a shocking state. Just plain greedy. Budget indie games run better

Do we need a sequel? No. Does Marvel need another movie/franchise? No. Let’s face it all the Marvel movies are the same film but different costume. However if it’s entertaining I’m happy to watch Detective Pikachu 2

Feb & March look decent but at this stage April is as empty and barren as the Sahara Desert. Hopefully that February Direct is real and rectifies this

I think Nintendolife should make mention of the very large download size of over 26GB for this game as this will have an impact on people like myself buying it as it’s digital only.
