The glow-up is on full display. The first few seconds look so animated and expressive!

It may be the first character to display and it being the all-rounder, but the character showcase doesn't explain every single move in its arsenal (i.e what the heck is the chef flip? and it looks kinda broken, cancel into anything what?! I would've preferred you explain chef flip before YO you can do this with chef flip!) but it's given a much snappier pace and while not to everyone's taste, it gives you a sampling of what to come to fill in that imagination.

(Captain notes: Speaking of Chef Flip, when SpongeBob deflected the rocket he staggered but when he deflected the bubble he didn't stagger and stars appeared. Does this move account for correct timing?)

So it looks like the gameplay is closing in to Smash bros with a bit of Mortal Kombat 10/Street Fighter 6 meter mechanics. There is a few things that aren't mentioned like is the universal cargo grabbing mechanics returned? Is final sma..ahem Super Attacks balanced for tourney play or do you lose meter upon death? Is the air strong attacks still here? I would've put the super attacks into a separate meter. I'm liking what I'm seeing.

Much better than the original due to the mere fact that the RPS mechanic is gone as it was too situational and luck based, you have better chances at recovering/surviving and more movement mechanics if you're willing to burn meter (The Street fighter 6 meter mechanic by itself is an awesome idea. I'm gushing.), the dash attack cancelling mechanic is (hopefully) gone and is turned into the roman cancel and the cancel by itself stales moves so this isn't a win button and there's FINAL SMASHES!

Well, looks like Suikoden 1 and 2 remake gets to have the spotlight all to themselves!

@fenlix The success of Street Fighter 6 and the pre launch and launch of Street Fighter 5 has shown that if you only aim for FGC players, your game won't last.

But in all seriousness. If competent developers get to strut their stuff like Microids with The Smurfs and that long tailed tiger game that plays like DK Country. Developers can overcome publishers with the right cheeze.

Why is it that the new courses/the one's to look forward to. (3ds rainbow Road, Squeaky clean sprint, ice cream [forgot the track name) are last in the cup to race on?

I want to race Squeaky clean sprint with Wiggler and Kamek. Though the other tracks are fun to race on. Wave 5 is probably the best one. Unless Wave 6 tops it by adding Toad Factory...

@Not_Soos Imo, there's more than enough race tracks to last for this iteration and probably save it up for MK9. I'd prefer they instead pony up more battle courses if they wanna do a second wave. Seriously, 8 battle tracks outdone by 96 race tracks. Are you kidding me?

Just went out of the theater.

Script and pacing in a few spots could use some tightening up and 2 characters especially THAT character (how could you! SOB) could use some tightening up but overall very enjoyable that even..probably casual fans of Mario can enjoy with it's box office well deserved.

Mario and Peach espically their back n forth was especially awesome.

@MrE Heh, anyone can make fighting a 3d textured ball exciting if you put your mind into it. But yeah, this isn't exactly homing in to top ten or even 25 worst sonic bosses anytime soon but it is one of the more dissapointing bosses out there.

Mario movie is just popping off in its advertising. Please let it pay off.

Heh, we've come a long way from only having a nes/snes games. This service looks to be worth it now especially the $50 tier. Now if there's also an option to permanently buy the games on the online service like in the virtual console days instead of it being a 2 day online check then it'll be more worth it.
