@Bass_X0 It is a redesign. It may be back to a previous design. But that's still a big change from the last few decades.
To me the gameboy game (which is amazing) worked because it was built on the same game that shared that design - intentionally retro.
I get why they do it and it mashes sense, I just don't like it. That and the game being so different from the country series are enough for me to skip it. No harm no foul, just a bummer for me.
That's a good point. I wonder what the sweet spot is... like if every system had 4 million available at launch, how many systems would sell that many? or would you hit the place where you have them left over.
Does scarcity create demand so people buy every last one? Or would they buy one anyway? Does a bunch sitting on the shelf cool demand (cuz I can pick it up later)...
Most launches don't have enough consoles available. Switch 2 has been sitting in store rooms a while because they kept pushing back the release to stock up it seems.
How much of these records are just because they actually had enough to sell at lunch?
The next round of sales will be more telling after the early adopters, youtubers, scalpers, and diehards.
Still love this game. The multiplayer was groundbreaking, all of the different AI Sims you could put in were so much fun. With friends, but also keep going against bots when they had to go home. And it kept some of the classic GoldenEye levels too. I put way more hours into this than any other first person shooter.
Joanna Dark deserves better than the sequels she got.
And the soundtrack? "Alien Conflict" = chef's kiss.
@AllBLK Exactly. To me it's not "the same but better"... it's become "the same but worse." And mouse control doesn't make up for that. lol. Sorry, just feeling bummed about it.
Since things like this have made me lose interest in a Switch 2, are there any rumors of a Switch 1 PRICE DROP? I could see myself buying a couple more of those for the kids now that I know I don't have to save money for Switch 2.
I'm in my early 40's. I honestly think we might have finally hit the point where I don't bother with new systems. Never thought it would happen. But there are so many games I've missed on past systems, they should keep me busy for the rest of my life. And I can buy them on cartridge, disc, and card! That's where my wallet will go.
I haven't played undertale but I'm buying it for switch. How does Deltarune work? Is there a cartridge? Should I wait till all the chapters are out to play the complete game?
I have every Nintendo system. Even Virtual Boy. But clearly the medium is passing me by when companies won't make physical or let me own anything. Is been a fun 40 years but I'm out. I'll look for more retro hidden gems on ebay.
From The Treehouse footage it looks like there aren't races with laps anymore. Just long tracks. What I don't like about that is that the first third of the race is just the boring Highway drive to get from one race to the other... but on screen it counts that as "1/3". Then it finishes in something that looks more like a track.
Not sure about this game. It looks like it doesn't have laps, just long courses. Some of those are fine, but on the Treehouse footage that made the first part of every race pretty boring because it was actually just the connecting Highway. then the last half of the race was more like a real track.
It's official. I'm a retro only gamer from now on. Can't deal with this garbage of not owning my stuff and trying to guess what's inside every box I buy.
I don't mind a discount from physical to digital, since you're not paying for the box. But this feels more like an upcharge to go from digital to physical and that's stupid.
It turns him from tough to goofy. Donkey Kong Country always had some goofy moments but this makes him full on comic relief like the movie, or his old school cartoon. Is what it is, but it feels like a different donkey kong.
The game looks like it might be fun, but man I am not down with the new old look. It kind of killed the trailer for me and might make me not even buy it. Oh well.
@LEGEND_MARIOID Strangely, I think DQ1 is still fun to pick up and play and get addicted. But DQ2 just never hit me and still doesn't. Though I'm interested to see what's up with the new character!
The sliding Block Puzzle part has been intrigued, as long as it's not too time or twitch sensitive. I don't see how they're comparing it to Pac-Man though.
@Lofoten If you watch a run like this, they have ways to reset in certain places. Like audio cues, or running down left for 10 seconds (cuz then they know that wherever they were before... they're in a corner now and can reset from there). Some places it's just a lost run.
@asmi8803 "Canon" means standard. Like the Canon of the Bible is the books that are officially acquired as divinely inspired.
In comics, video games, etc. it basically means: the storylines/ games that have been accepted as official parts of the characters history/lore. Thus they can effect other stories.
@Spider-Kev Exactly. The most frustrating thing is that you can never find a gem anymore for even a slight discount, because they all match the eBay prices or price charting. If EB pays you 10 cents on the dollar and then lists it for full collectible price, that's the issue.
If they paid cheap but also sold cheap? They might actually help the prices come down!
Seems pretty obvious from that statement that it is not a roommate or you have to release.
"Beyond the world of the game" makes me think they mean..... plushies..... or maybe buttons from your backpack..... Or maybe just a background for your phone.
NA easy on this one. The urgency of the reds and yellows. The strong pose. And the epic sense of a whole city that needs his protection. Not sure why "Gaiden" is green though...
@FishyS The obvious problem there being.. I would love to buy another switch. OLED or something so my kids have more. We only have one. I need a price drop to be able to afford it. I already have Mario Wonder so this does me no good. I just don't get it, but clearly it's working for them.
@DTFaux That's the one thing I like about the current model. For example Fire N Ice is an amazing game that I never would have tried because it cost $200 on ebay. NSO let me try it. Now I wish I could give them five bucks to keep it even if I am not online or don't have a subscription anymore. I hate the transience of games attached to a service.
Not to mention all the games we're not getting because they're from other companies or cousintendo trip feeds.
( I also hate many of the games on NSO and they clutter up my page. Wish I could delete the ones I don't like.)
7. It was a great return to form for Country series. I hate it on we how you had to blow on the stupid thing and shake the motion controls. At least that is largely fixed here. I'll wait till it's 30 bucks.

Re: Feature: The Long & Rainbow Road To 'Mario Kart World', From SNES To Switch 2
Couldn't they find someone old enough to have been there when Super Mario Kart came out to review it?
Anyway, my top 5:
1a. Double Dash - best racing. And having 2 Luigi's on a Luigi kart? Chef's kiss.
1b. N64 - battle mode. Nuff said.
3. Super Mario Kart - nostalgia goggles
4. Mk8 - like the evolution of SNES
5. MKDS - could be higher if not for all the online drifters
