Re: Nintendo Reminds Us DK Is On The Way To Switch 2 Next Month

@Bass_X0
It is a redesign. It may be back to a previous design. But that's still a big change from the last few decades.

To me the gameboy game (which is amazing) worked because it was built on the same game that shared that design - intentionally retro.

I get why they do it and it mashes sense, I just don't like it. That and the game being so different from the country series are enough for me to skip it. No harm no foul, just a bummer for me.

Re: Switch 2 Sets "All-Time" Launch Record For Video Game Hardware In The US

That's a good point. I wonder what the sweet spot is... like if every system had 4 million available at launch, how many systems would sell that many? or would you hit the place where you have them left over.

Does scarcity create demand so people buy every last one? Or would they buy one anyway? Does a bunch sitting on the shelf cool demand (cuz I can pick it up later)...

Most launches don't have enough consoles available. Switch 2 has been sitting in store rooms a while because they kept pushing back the release to stock up it seems.

How much of these records are just because they actually had enough to sell at lunch?

The next round of sales will be more telling after the early adopters, youtubers, scalpers, and diehards.

Re: Anniversary: Perfect Dark, Another N64 Rare Classic, Turns 25

Still love this game. The multiplayer was groundbreaking, all of the different AI Sims you could put in were so much fun. With friends, but also keep going against bots when they had to go home. And it kept some of the classic GoldenEye levels too. I put way more hours into this than any other first person shooter.

Joanna Dark deserves better than the sequels she got.

And the soundtrack? "Alien Conflict" = chef's kiss.

Re: Feature: The Long & Rainbow Road To 'Mario Kart World', From SNES To Switch 2

Couldn't they find someone old enough to have been there when Super Mario Kart came out to review it?

Anyway, my top 5:
1a. Double Dash - best racing. And having 2 Luigi's on a Luigi kart? Chef's kiss.

1b. N64 - battle mode. Nuff said.

3. Super Mario Kart - nostalgia goggles

4. Mk8 - like the evolution of SNES

5. MKDS - could be higher if not for all the online drifters

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

speedracer216

I'm in my early 40's. I honestly think we might have finally hit the point where I don't bother with new systems. Never thought it would happen. But there are so many games I've missed on past systems, they should keep me busy for the rest of my life. And I can buy them on cartridge, disc, and card! That's where my wallet will go.

Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Mario Kart World Are In

From The Treehouse footage it looks like there aren't races with laps anymore. Just long tracks. What I don't like about that is that the first third of the race is just the boring Highway drive to get from one race to the other... but on screen it counts that as "1/3". Then it finishes in something that looks more like a track.

That's the one thing I like about the current model. For example Fire N Ice is an amazing game that I never would have tried because it cost $200 on ebay. NSO let me try it. Now I wish I could give them five bucks to keep it even if I am not online or don't have a subscription anymore. I hate the transience of games attached to a service.

Not to mention all the games we're not getting because they're from other companies or cousintendo trip feeds.

( I also hate many of the games on NSO and they clutter up my page. Wish I could delete the ones I don't like.)
