Re: Random: Kickstarter Project Promises Real-Life ARMS Combat, In A Fashion

speedracer216

In the 80's, this would this get an insane commercial with futuristic army general robots crushing each other while someone wales on an electric guitar. Kids everywhere would kick and scream until their parents bought it at toys R us for their birthday.

They would play it once. It wouldn't even break, but they would realize it "isn't like the commercial" (see also: Cross-Fire! You'll get caught up in the cross-fire. CROSS-FIRE!!!!)

Friends would come over and say "Sweet! You have Jabii!?!?!!?!?!" to which they would reply "yeah it's terrible" and they would all go ride bikes instead.

The end.

Re: Best Buy Benefits From Strong Nintendo Switch Launch to Increase Sales

I don't like the $$$$$$$ of all the add-ons like pro controller etc. I don't like paid online. I don't like half-hearted ports that we keep seeing from Wii and on. And there's more.

But I'll still buy one of BG&E2 is exclusive. Haha. It's all about games and so far their strategy seems to have worked of porting Wii U games others missed (Zelda, Mario Kart, basically Splatoon). Later this year when it starts getting truly exclusive new games it will be more interesting to me despite some of the drawbacks. Hope it has legs to go the distance.

Re: Video: Revel in these 8 Reasons to Get Hyped for ARMS

@AlexOlney
Hey Alex, appreciate the response. and LOVE your videos. i straight up have not been to IGN or really any game sight for almost two years for that reason and because I found NintendoLife. discussion, content, everything is so much better here! So keep up the good work.
And to be fair, part of my frustration is with Nintendo. I know it's their artwork. Just like I downloaded and almost immediately deleted the fire emblem app when I saw some of that character art. Just don't need that.
Anything you guys can do that helps avoid that I think is great because so many other places go "lowest-common-denominator" and turn everything into eye-candy for clicks. I think it's harmful personally, but even if others don't agree, i just think the sight is a lot more fun when it isn't hijacked by "twintelle is hottest!" or whatever
thanks for listening. keep up the good Nintendo work!

Re: Review: NBA Playgrounds (Switch eShop)

speedracer216

To me it looks really unpolished. Facial expressions etc. just all look like they bought the license and pumped it out quick aiming for the 8-12 age range alongside other more serious NBA offerings.

i still play NBA JAM: Tournament Edition pretty regularly so I'll stick with that. So much of it's success was the personality of the game, the announcer, etc. That's polish beyond just basketball physics. Oh yeah, and Scottie Pippen.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Effortlessly Drifts Past The One Million Sold Marker After Just One Week

speedracer216

A thought though....

If Wii U sold low because only the Nintendo faithful bought it....
And if the Nintendo faithful are also the Switch early adopters....

Then perhaps a lot of those million are people buying it again because they have Wii U and Switch?? Like, maybe 1 million Wii U MK8's were traded in last week to help pay for this... built in discount we all wanted.

Re: Meet The Mario Maker Player Nintendo Wants To Ban For Keeping The Game Alive

speedracer216

Nintendo is trying to protect something... but I'm not sure what. Fair star ranking? They think glitches have unfair advantage? Or that glitches of any kind are loathsome because it reminds Nintendo of security exploits? who knows.

Nintendo is both WITH the times and behind them. Mario Maker was a rare "do whatever you want with our game" that is reminiscent of the PC crowd. Mod everything! Very "with it". It was also HUGE on twitch and brought a lot of positive gamer culture attention to Nintendo.

But where others celebrate glitches and the fun (and attention) they bring, Nintendo bans them? weird.

Re: Stardock CEO Says Nintendo Switch Doesn't Need Third Party Support To Succeed

speedracer216

"too different" is the most painful thing this guy could say (whoever he is).
Wii had a TON of 3rd party content, but because Wii was "too different" it was all scaled down "waggle editions". Nobody asked for that. It's not just "third party content" that people want, they want the SAME third party content as the other consoles so they can buy one system and get all the games PLUS Mario etc. that they get nowhere else.

Many buyers who did not grow up on Nintendo, if forced to choose, will leave Mario behind and get the other systems because they have "all the rest of the games" and have them in higher quality.

Me? I need me some Luigi.

Re: Super Nintendo Games, "Legend" And "Iron Commando", Seek Re-release

speedracer216

I still buy games for my SNES and re-releases of legit carts (not those chinese repros) would be AMAZING. If companies realize there is money here and I could get a boxed Chrono Trigger for $40 instead of $700...... yeah.

i just paid $37 for a Japanese R-Type III. And that's actually a steal. You telling me the company who actually made the game wouldn't want in on that action?

CARTRIDGES AGAIN PLEASE!!!!!
