If I get the chance to go back to Japan then it will be high on my list of places to visit, no matter what these people feel. I imagine being a fan of something like this will make it far more interesting.

And the more computing musuems the better, as this is how we should be doing preservation. If I was being more skeptical I would say Nintendo did this to show people that preservation is not an excuse for emulating.

@Serpenterror Before I start I will say that I am from the Uk, as this may vary in different coutries.
I imagine they have seperated the companies, moved some money around, then add in some artistic accounting, all with a goal of putting risk on the backers money, while having there's elsewhere all safe and sound.

We all seem to be throwing an opinion in here which I think is great, and such a wide range of views. A little bit of cancelling which is a shame, it perfectly fine to not agree with someone.

For me the Japanese games market has over sexualized charactors in games for years, and personally I feel it is not neccessary. With regards to censorship I think it just depends on the reasoning, in most cases I think they are commercial decisions and have nothing to do with personel views. If the creators have that much conviction then they shouldn't change things in order to appease censors. If they do then that change is on them.
With regards to gender, that should be what the creator wants it to be, full stop.

I beleive this is something that has been coming for a long time now. Not just this Palworld case but in general the Nindie developers have all been pushing the boundries for copying any sucessful games. Look how much we get click baited on 'Look at this 'insert game name' style game', they are all pushing the boundries.
And yes I do know that everyone does this to some degree, but I see far too often it coming from this direction. Little to no innovation or creativity, just a marketing department telling them what it needs to be similar to in order to sell well.

My main thought is that Nintendo will do it when Nintendo want to do it, which can be very unpredictable. But I do feel that when they said they would do it within that certain period of time that it wouldn't be at the end of that time. More in the region of 3/4 of the way through, so maybe soon!!

@CazSonOfCaz I have had a couple of their gamepads and they both just stopped working after a pretty short amount of time. I didn't really like them when they did work, they seemed light and overall low quality build.
I have seen a few people say goods things about that split pad, but I have small hands so don't really struggle with the joy cons.

I can't talk too highly about the Nintendo controllers for the switch either. I have had the usual issue on a couple of sets of Joy cons, and burned out two pro controllers that just stopped working. Not what I expect from the big N.

The only good thing about this is that the new switch maybe not going down the digital route. Otherwise get rid Nintendo, and while your at it get rid of Hori too.

The physical version used to represent at a game show called EGX in the UK. They had a stand that you could play games, relax, charging points, and also meet them. I can confirm that Alex is a bloody nice bloke!

I don't think he is the only one thinking this way, there are many games that can be completed in 15-20 hours, which previously would have had much longer play times. You could question if this was a decision based player engagement, or a saving in production costs.

I am slightly surprised with the acceptance in the comments, this smacks of the kind of thing that AI would churn out if you fed it a bunch of nintendo games.

Because it was a human that did that does that make it okay?

'Emulation products are all the rage' - are you sure about that,it it as popular as the switch? Or as popular as an Xbox in Japan? (or just popular in the Nintendolife office?)

There are loads of ways of learning languages online, and many of them are free. So not sure I would bother paying for this.

@Frailbay30 Definatley a fair point, personally I did pixel art when games makers didn't have a choice. Now I feel like it's laziness on their parts and personally I expect more innovation. I know they can't reinvent the wheel every week but with this looking backwards (and marketing) mentallity I don't see a good future for the industry.
I am hoping that Nintendo's next console brings something new and interesting to this bland gaming world.

I don't think that is a reason you can ban someone. Let's face it Esports wouldn't exsist if you banned players for this. In fact look at emotes in games, the scene actually promotes it.

I could be wrong here (let me know if I am) but I guess they hacked the game in order to find this so called glitch.
For me a glitch is something you find/stumble on when playing the game.

They know it doesn't work so stop selling it, it's really simple.

Give it a short while and the switch is going to be in the same realms as the DS and the R4 cards soon. You'll be able to pick them up on ebay and car boot sales, there'll be everywhere.

Come on people if we just hack a bit more we will be there sooner.

@Hoshiko I have written a little above which applies, but also add that my feelings with regards to many of the ideas coming from people nowadays is that marketing is diluting creeative minds massively.
Therefore I think it will be interesting to see where this all goes in the future, because like it or not business is going to use it.

@link3710 I guess it all depends on how the AI is taught, how it intreprupts what it's shown and how it invents. I will imagine that the AI side of the argument will push how innovative and free thinking it is, even if it's not true. But there also seems to me there is lots of self preservation going on in lots of the angst on the subject.
I personally feel that images and ideas from creative minds will always be the best way forward. But I can assure everyone that's not the way it's going to go.

I am not 100% sure what the issue here is, it appears to me that a computer has been watching you tube videos in order to imagine and invent it's own depiction of somthing.

This is exactly what real artisits are doing.....

In fact judging from the amount of fan art I see, lots of real artisits don't even try and hide that fact.

I didn't think the questions were very good, and were not broad enough to give my opitnion.

I will buy a new Nintendo console on the day of release, as I always do. However no I do not have any desire for a new console, or for any upgrade it may offer. I am fine with how things are with the current switch, I do not blame the console for the poor performing games.
And as far as backlog, I don't have one and never have. Are there many many games I would fancy playing then yes there is. But do I have any intention of buying and playing many of them, No I don't.

There are too many cases these days that reflect disparity in society. I respect this man has done wrong and some punishment is deserved but I do beleive there are many cases where people have been threatened or harrased in their lifes and only in exceptional curcumstances does literally anyhing happen at all.

I kind of hope no one buys it really. The world does not need two corporate cash cows conspiring together.

I bought one of the older designs when I went to Japan earlier in the year. I found it hard to resist pretty much all the gashpon machines in Japan, but it was impossible to ignore an official Nintendo one in the official Nintendo store.

@DreamlandGem Hi, Sorry to be off subject but I had to mention to you after a small kirby conversation we had a long while back. Well I visited the Kirby Cafe in Tokyo this year with my family and we loved it, it was one of the highlights of our whole trip. The food and everything else were just spectacular and I really hope you have had, or get the chance to go. It was really that good!!

I don't mind a quick video to give you a jist of the strory, but I dind many games have this tutorial type section which I don't like.
I nearly gave up on the recent Zelda before I got out of the sky island part.

@geshem I wouldn't say it's not worth playing, but not as good as history seems to make it. The insanity effects are very interesting, especially the first time you encounter some of them. They can really confuse you for a moment, but as you progressed through the game and they repeated I felt they just became more of an annoyance.
I also think that the fact that at the time of release you didn't get to find out much about the games, and this hugeley added to the surprise of some of the instanity effects in the game. Unfortunatly I think the internet has pretty much killed that nowadays, therefore taking away the one good trick it had.
But please don't let my narrow minded views change your thoughts, hopefully you will get a chance to play in the future.

@geshem It was just average for me, apart from the intrigue to the insanity effects the game was poor.

I remember being drawn to the unique feature, but it reviewed as being pretty average at the time, so I never bothered getting it.

I often find it funny about which older games that now seem to get lorded like they are somthing special. Another example being Eternal Darkness, it's just another average game with a neat twst .

I play FC24 with my son, I say that because if it wasn't for him I wouldn't!
However my take on the game is that it's a mess, and better played for the comical value. In a game at the weekend I called it Fall Guys Football. Players stumble around, bump into each other, players sometime ignore the direction you want them to go. PS2 pro evo was the golden age for football video games.
Unfortunatley I will have a look at the new one bcause I will probably have to play it!

@Kyranosaurus I would suggest I am not , and I would also suggest that if you agree to somethinng and then expect more than that. then that is privelaged as you call it.
And no I am not rich or lucky enough to be able to wait for the next great oppurtunity either. And over the years I have had to do many things that I didn't want to do. But, like I said, I am not privelaged and I sucked it up and took one for the team.

Sorry but I see this as a bitter individual, he was happy to agree terms at the outset. To complain after the fact it silly, complaint to yourself for taking it on in the first place!

There are basically more people playing games now so there is a chance that the next console could sell more. But I don't think they can do that with a simple upgrade, it hasn't worked for Sony or Microsoft.
They need one of those magical Nintendo ideas to work, it's very unlikely they will get another pandemic to help them out this time.
