A bit of early attention seeking here, then some more from the fans when they release it. Then finally a bit more when they get people to give them some sympathy when Nintendo take it down.

I'd say NL should be able to get at least another couple of articles in before no ones cares about them again.

@cmbaum no I haven’t played the game. I do remember reading about it and if I had more time and money to play more games then I would have.

@cmbaum If you feel that this game or others don't promote gambling I do not want to try and change your mind or say you are wrong. I appreciate your opinion, but mine is that it is better to over protect younger people.

@cmbaum The steam webpage advertises and sells the game as being like poker, and it's in the text above. A quick google search shows that 'The Verge', 'Gameinformer', it's wiki page all advertise is a 'poker' style game. And even the play.balatro website sub heading on google says...
"Balatro is a deck-building roguelite where you must play poker hands and earn chips to defeat enemy blinds"

Anyway Big 2 is described a gambling game too!

This is more speculative and boring than all the leaks, I trust Sandrev's and Anti Matter's guesses more than this.

While I agree with his statement about his issue with Fifa and games that have loot box style mechanics, I still agree that the 18 certificate is correct for a game that is likely to encourage gambling.

I should also add that if they didn't have such a rule then there would carnage, all that stinking gambling money fueling there future markets.

@TechaNinja That is a very famous saying in Japan, and with all the rumours it would be a good idea for them to Not Look, Not listen, and not say anything (at least until there ready)

@Dev1024 I do worry, mainly because of the so called leaks that we could be looking at an upgrade. And I think you'd be right in saying that if it was then a little bit of Nintendo has died if it is. Not a fan of leaks, even if they are true. But I do prefer this kind of speculation to the blurry photos we saw yesterday.

I have some speculation that maybe the bee reference is because the new console will have 'street pass'. Like a bee pollenating flowers as it collects nectar. I think NL should make a article to discuss this?!?

@Serpenterror I totally agree with your comment regarding the big mistake that microsoft and sony have made. Inititally the 'looking good' strategy worked and they both had sucess with the PS2 and original Xbox. But overall there message was that why buy a Nintendo console because they look so much better here. But actually all that did was to promote PC gaming, then add in people confidence using PC's and Steam making it easy to buy games. They literally promoted their own competition.
Now they have nothing that sets them aside, so they try and buy a few games makers to make exclusives, but like you said they often put them on other consoles. Sony trying the VR but charging a fortune. They have spent years shooting themselves in the foot.

But don't get me wrong I think anyone buying those consoles will find more than enough to have fun with. But as a corporate giant trying to rule the world they have done a ***** job.

You'd have thought they would have announced this farming sim in a direct, althougth maybe they didn't want to be confused with the million other 16bit style farming games!!!!

Nintendo Switch is a home console the same as xbox and playstation, what is so confusing!!!! Some part of it's success can be put down to it being able to be used as a handheld, but we will never know the true percentage of people that would not have bought the console if it didn't work as a handheld.

I would suggest the main reasons peoplebought switch was their games, mario, zelda, animal crossing, smash bros. And a very big one 'the price.

I am going to take this second hand and one sided information and stick it where it belongs.

Like others I have never really knew much about the tcg game so have been enjoying the experience. But I am already seeing a major floor in that I have to rely on luck in order to get all the cards I would like to use in a battle.
In the mainline pokemon games a little grinding would get you all the things you wanted. But I am already being put off with the feeling it maybe ages before I get all the cards I want. I can also see that as soon as I feel I have got the things I want they will just release a load more and I will just feel that way again!

I'm pretty sure I will just end up card collecting for as long as it stays interesting. And there is literally no way I'll spend any real money, stuff that.

The bloody thing hasn't even been officially announced and already we get talk of regurgitating old games. And they wonder why the industry is on the decline!!

Oh I just wanted to add that I think we are going to get a couple more annoucements like the game trial and the music app, it seems to me there is lots of these type of things which they want to reveal before so that all the focus will be on the console when they do the reveal.

Looks like the switch will be getting Just Dance 26, lucky us.

Maybe they'll open hotels next to the universal sites they are appearing at and sell some funky food at them. They have history for owning hotels!

The more this keeps happening the more the prices from these places will go up, for every penny they spend fighting this is put onto the price the consumers pay. Or maybe think of the reason companies want to go digital or streaming services, yep you can can pretty much guarantee that these hacks lead to these conversations.

This has to be one of the worst comments sections I have every read. No official news has been released yet it seems that people know varying amounts through leaks, that may or may not be true. Adding to that their review of what they have been told or seen, without exeperiencing it themselves.
Personally I am looking forward to trying something that I know nothing about, and will try and avoid too much more of the negativity.

The way all the hackers and emulators love to talk online won't make it a hard job for anyone.

@-wc- I have never appreciated art, I find it all a bit fussy and often cannot see the attraction that others do. Similar feelings towards history too funnily enough.

With regards to FPS and how games look in general I just think that games look and work so well. Yes there is always better that can be acheived, but where we are is more than good enough. I do understand complaints if things don't run smoothly or inconsistently, but the small difference that I feel some people seem to want do not impact enough for me to care. Add to that the costs and time to puts on games makers I just don't see the point.
