Re: The Nintendo Museum Now Has An Official Book

@Darthmoogle Hi, Sorry not been on in a few days. So much to mention! My first suggestion would be good preparation, and deciding on the areas you would like to go and then seeing what else that maybe intersts there. For instance we like to get up high to look over the city, this can be done from several places in Tokyo so maybe you can dual that with other things in the same area. Saves time on travelling. For instance one of the high buildings we liked was the goverment buiding, this is free to go to the top and was located quite near the Meiji shrine, and also near Shinjuku which is an area I would recomend too. Hopefully you can get the most from the time that you have this way. We also stayed near the the Skytree Tower, this is an amazing sight from the ground, we didn't get to go up that one (windy day), but can't imagine it is dissapointing. Also the skytree shopping centre was great, lots of exclusive shops, Kitby Cafe / Pokemon Centre / Marvel Shop / Snoopy shop / etc. There is also another high building you can go up at the Shibuya Crossing, you get an elevated view of the crossing from this one.
As far as areas of Tokyo we really enjoyed, these would be Shibuya and Shinjuku, lots to do in both of these areas. We also liked Ueno Park area, and the Zoo, it really felt like we were part of Japanese life here. Seeing people enjoying the park in different ways felt more Japanese than some of the hussle and bussle of city life. We also stayed in the Ginza district, if you would like to visit the top fashion stores lots of them are here, also the shopping centre underneath the Train Staion here is very good. This where we found a few 'pop up shops' these were really fun, worth looking out to see if any are going to around for when you visit. One place we did miss out on was the Robot Cafe in Shibuya, you need to book before you go and we didn't realise. Don't worry about phoning them their English was very good.

We didn't go to Kyoto on this visit, only on a previous visit 15 years ago, so can't add as much here. Althougth beleive it or not the train station here is one of my favourite buildings in the world. I imagine you will be visiting the Geisha district, i beleive this has got more comercialised lately but I am sure it's well worth a visit. And Hakone is beautiful too, get that camera ready!!!

I would also mention that we travelled with a 12 year old and was not part of a tour. We found it (pretty) easy to get do everything we wanted, tubes in Tokyo, Bullet Train rides to Osaka, Day trip to Hakone / left baggage in Tokyo station storage for three days to visit Osaka. I am not saying you will find an English speaking person whereever you go, but we always managed to get by.

And my 'Best bit' from my time in Japan, the people. The world could learn alot from them!

@Darthmoogle Congratalutions for your forthcoming wedding, and more importantly for your trip to Japan, enjoy!

We visitied Japan last year and there were a few things we had to book before we went, like the Kirby Cafe and the Pokemon Cafe. I wouldn't suggest it was easy but I wouldn't say it was too hard either. Good luck

This information should be well advertised from the outset, you should know exactly what you are buying at the time of purchase.

This is down to goverments that should be setting regulation to protect consumers. The article even mentioned that lobbying groups are trying to force the hand of games makers, and games makers saying things about it. That is no good, it needs to be regulated from taking both sides of the argument into account and deciding something that can work for all.
The fact that it hasn't been done already is not down to the games makers, they should have already been forced into a standard set on them.

Re: Review: Hollow Knight: Silksong - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Woven To Brutal Perfection

I have not been drawn into the silksong games, maybe as it just looks too much like many other games. However I trust you all in your judgements of the games, but reading some of this it sounds like I would get the same experience as I did with Viewtiful Joe where I just got stuck and eventually gave up. I very much enjoyed it until that point but did find it frustrating to not get to see all the game.
Personally I prefer games that you give you the feeling your a noob when you start, but after a little while of playing you feel like a pro.

Re: Nintendo Is "Acting To Protect The Industry" With Switch 2 Game Key Cards, Says Ex-Capcom Composer

dew12333

Nintendo has taken action where there isn't any. It maybe the wrong way in your opinion but they are doing more than others.
Every knows that we should be protected as consumers but the rules are just not in place for digital sales. This is Nintenco trying to preempt rules being put into place and have something already in place. I think they feel something needs to be done as we change into a digital world.
But is not worth all the complaining and cancelling, your only cutting your nose off to spite your face with that.

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

dew12333

@AllBLK Why would you call people names who disagree with you? Do you think that will change there optinion to aline with yours. Why do feel it neccesary to change other peoples opinion?

I will continue to spend far too much money with Nintendo than I really should. In fact would it make you happy to know I flew all the way to Japan so I could spend even more of my money with them!!!!!!!

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

@electrolite77 I agree the switch does seem to have learned that lesson. But when it comes to the AAA titles they have not made it easy enough to port them from one to another, we seem to be in the same place as a few systems ago!
@Jeronan I think Nintendo prefers a closed system that doesn't allow that/
@SBandy1
Nintendo have always been catching up with the other in certain regards. But I have often felt that Nintendo does not do enough to make their systems run alongside the others. It seems to me that if you make a game for sony and then want to put it on Xbox it doesn't take much. Whereas to transfer that to a Nintendo system it never seems to be that easy.

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

dew12333

It seems that Nintendo has left itself on the side shelf again by not making a sytem that easily codes with others. This will hamper the output that the switch gets from third parties. Very similar to some of the previous consoles really.
I don't think Nintendo care too much, if you want your game on their system then you play there game. Lets face it it's there own games that sell their consoles, not third parties.

Re: CD Projekt Reveals 75% Of Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Sales Were Physical In Opening Month

dew12333

I really don't see the issue of game cards, it seems like a good middle ground between physical and digital.
But this stat is merely an excuse for marketing, they had a strong enough release to put it on a cartridge and some games don't. Add to the fact that they know as well as we do that despite the fact this stat shows consumers do want physical media the industry is not going in that direction.

Re: Capcom Launches Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Website

dew12333

I loved the first Resident Evil on the Gamecube and regard 4 as one of the best games ever made. Didn't go so much on a few of the others.
Obviosuly being a Nintendo gamer I have missed out on some of the newer one's which I read as being pretty good. It would be nice to have a chance to play some of them.

Re: Pokémon TCG Pocket Updates Card Art Following Plagiarism Allegations

dew12333

@Fiergala I had wanted to reply to you previously but was too busy at the time. I understood your last comment and just wanted to make mine clearer.
Firstly I 100% have no issues with anyone drawing whatever they want, the area that complicates this for me is the law. And then solicitors etc. who cloud the lines of legality. This then in turn makes difficult situations for companies, very similar to this tcg card. Neither the drawer of the art in question or the Pokémon company had any issues with either side, however because of the law it then impacted what the Pokémon company felt they should do.
This is often the case and it annoys me to think that if I came up with a character that I would have to be careful because of law. When really you should have license to do what you want with what you created.
As I say my issue is with a stupid law that makes the two sides look like they dislike each other when I really don’t think they do. So when a company looks over zealous towards some art, like some others would do, I don’t see the issue the same.
