Re: UK Charts: Old Favourites Keep Nintendo In The Race As Xenoblade Plummets From Top 10

dew12333

@XenoShaun @JohnnyMind Does that not apply to all different countries that mainly charts are dominated by the more popularist games? America will be Madden and other countries will be Fifa but overall games like GTA / red dead, mariokart, star wars, Hogwarts, minecraft probably all consistently appear in many countries charts.
Maybe we should ask NL to see if they can get them for a few countries so we could see the differences.

Re: Nintendo's Lawsuit Win Against Major French Sharehoster Is Now Final

If you actually care for the workers within the industry you would support Nintendo for taking these types of things down. Because I don't see enough support for this, if AI makes something Nintendo related it will be slated, if a fan (so called) makes something then i gets love. If someone hacks their system for modding it's fine, even though it also opens the door to running illegal copies of games. In many eyes your not okay to pirate new software but not a problem with no clear divined line between what is or isn't old.
When the real ramifications of this are that we will get more AI creating games, there will be more job losses, and the any costs invovled in dealing with it all get pushed onto consumers.

@Toastmaster I seem to remember commenting about wanting a new controller for the switch 2 when we had the initial 'what do you want from switch 2' articles. It's the cross platform games that seem to have ruined the dreams of innovative controllers, developers don't want to have to do the work to more than one controll style. I always felt that was the big issue with the Wiiu, EA and the others initially wanted to support the new console but ran a mile when they saw the controller. Thus making nintendo think we've dropped a ball here and gave up on it themselves too, then just dragged it along a bit to save face and recoup some money. Personally I loved that controller and the ideas like they had in Nintendoland. But here we are with a (what's looking like) small upgrade for the switch 2, the main reason I don't bother with the other consoles is because in the past I have trusted Nintendo to innovate rather than scam small upgrades on consumers.
I do remember Steel Batalion and that huge controller, read a bit about it at the time, but no Xbox and not so interested in mech games. And I seem to remeber it took several button presses just to move the mech around, so complicated but I loved the idea at the time.
Should we get a innovative surprise for switch 2 then I will be sure to message you to see what you think.

@Toastmaster I'll take a stupid waggle controller or something that only gets used on a few select games I dont mind that!!!

Even at 52 I play computer games every day and had expected that would be the case until I die. But this regurgitation does make it harder for me to find experiences that grab me nowadays. I'm even warming to these live service games that at least try and change things up to keep customer retention. But overall I'm not sure if boredom or arthritus will bring an end to my gaming.

So I played Lylat wars in 1997 and today I can play a game that looks to be very similar. The industry is such decline! covid maybe propped it up for a while and gave a false impression of it's value. And even as a stalwart Nintendo fan the switch 2 reveal didn't blow me away. I really, really hope that Nintendo has some kind of innovation attached that we don't know about. They just can't keep regurgitating stuff like this and expect it to work much more!

Re: EA: Switch 2 Could Help Games Like FC And Madden "Find Real Energy"

I love the way EA have accounted that 50% of the people who bought sims were new customers to them. So they will be displeased to hear that I have a way of working around these stupid companies that enforce log in to play the game I just bought. I basically create an account with a bunch of fake details to get logged in as soon as possible, obviously if I buy another one of their games then I will not remember those details, so therefore create another account with fake details!!

@Scollurio I do seem to have lots of questionable ideas/opinions, or maybe I don't articulate my words in a way to give my real feelings, sorry.
I do totally undersatnd how the triggers would be right for driving games, the mechanics just make sense. But I have never really been big on driving games, obviously being a nintendo fan I have played all the mario karts (and excite truck), but if I look back on them I only really like super circuit and the snes version. Both of which I spent MANY hours playing, but me and friend who still often play those two versions, we actually consider taking your finger off the accelerator as cheating lol.
I think you nailed my thinking when you said, you don't play doom with a steering wheel. Obviously the PS5 is not that bad and the more I play it has become less annoying. But I would still be happier if the new switch doesn't have them.
