Me and my son noticed that the characters seem to be wearing different hats in the direst, and think this is going to be some kind of perk or somthing. We will see..
@XenoShaun @JohnnyMind Does that not apply to all different countries that mainly charts are dominated by the more popularist games? America will be Madden and other countries will be Fifa but overall games like GTA / red dead, mariokart, star wars, Hogwarts, minecraft probably all consistently appear in many countries charts. Maybe we should ask NL to see if they can get them for a few countries so we could see the differences.
"Considering that these are the UK charts I'm not surprised at all."
I notice that this is the second week in a row that you referred in this way to the UK charts - What do you mean? (yes I m from the Uk so please don't go too hard on me. But please be honest too lol)
Yet another game made by the marketing department, with some involvement of the legal team to make sure they don't look too much like anything that will get them sued. This is what i call real people AI games.
The tagline had me thinking this was going to be good, then I saw it's a commitee/association, that thing where companies appear to care (like Zyph says, for marketing). But actually all they are doing is giving some money to some rich people so they can talk about stuff and get paid while nothing really happens.
@martynstuff The overall consensus in our family was that they tasted bad!! But are they al the same flavour? I thought they could be different flavours? Discuss?
@LadyCharlie I agree both sides of this storey have some shaky grounds, however they are both playing to the laws that allow them to act in such a way. I tend to blame the law for allowing this type of behaviour.
@moreDKplz They are very expensive but they are also very nice quality statues from F4F. And I have a few that I bought on release many years ago and they all now sell for several times the price I paid for them. So if really wanted one to enjoy for a few years you could probably sell it on and get your money back.
@Princess_Lilly I still have a promotional postcard with the slogan. Crazy to think they would advertise a game in such a way, I imagine people would think this was how things were in those times but it was even banned then.
I understand your thinking, but would you steal a retro game from the shop? Also if I want to experience an old game then the only real way to do that is on the original hardware.
If you actually care for the workers within the industry you would support Nintendo for taking these types of things down. Because I don't see enough support for this, if AI makes something Nintendo related it will be slated, if a fan (so called) makes something then i gets love. If someone hacks their system for modding it's fine, even though it also opens the door to running illegal copies of games. In many eyes your not okay to pirate new software but not a problem with no clear divined line between what is or isn't old. When the real ramifications of this are that we will get more AI creating games, there will be more job losses, and the any costs invovled in dealing with it all get pushed onto consumers.
@tobsesta99 I can't deny you got me! But only because I like for all opinions to be allowed, no one has to agree with your opinion but we should be allowed one. Respect to you, have a good day.
I am sure their are laws and procedures on how this company should deal with their complaint, telling me about isn't going to change anything. But if the copy is cheaper then I know which one to buy.
I am pleased they are shutting it down, I have never liked it and it gives me a little hope they will favour the rewards rather than paltry discounts. Bring back Nintendo VIP!!
Absolutely fine with this, poor system for collecting rewards that never amounted to much anyway. Fingers crosed this will be a change to something different, hopefully more along the lines of exclusive gifts rather than 68p off your purchase.
I bought Civ 7 and I know there are compromises for the switch version and it is slow in loading in the map at the start of the game and in the changing of ages. However the 'this will be good for switch 2' does not apply, it's fine on the switch 1.
@Toastmaster I seem to remember commenting about wanting a new controller for the switch 2 when we had the initial 'what do you want from switch 2' articles. It's the cross platform games that seem to have ruined the dreams of innovative controllers, developers don't want to have to do the work to more than one controll style. I always felt that was the big issue with the Wiiu, EA and the others initially wanted to support the new console but ran a mile when they saw the controller. Thus making nintendo think we've dropped a ball here and gave up on it themselves too, then just dragged it along a bit to save face and recoup some money. Personally I loved that controller and the ideas like they had in Nintendoland. But here we are with a (what's looking like) small upgrade for the switch 2, the main reason I don't bother with the other consoles is because in the past I have trusted Nintendo to innovate rather than scam small upgrades on consumers. I do remember Steel Batalion and that huge controller, read a bit about it at the time, but no Xbox and not so interested in mech games. And I seem to remeber it took several button presses just to move the mech around, so complicated but I loved the idea at the time. Should we get a innovative surprise for switch 2 then I will be sure to message you to see what you think.
@Toastmaster I'll take a stupid waggle controller or something that only gets used on a few select games I dont mind that!!!
Even at 52 I play computer games every day and had expected that would be the case until I die. But this regurgitation does make it harder for me to find experiences that grab me nowadays. I'm even warming to these live service games that at least try and change things up to keep customer retention. But overall I'm not sure if boredom or arthritus will bring an end to my gaming.
So I played Lylat wars in 1997 and today I can play a game that looks to be very similar. The industry is such decline! covid maybe propped it up for a while and gave a false impression of it's value. And even as a stalwart Nintendo fan the switch 2 reveal didn't blow me away. I really, really hope that Nintendo has some kind of innovation attached that we don't know about. They just can't keep regurgitating stuff like this and expect it to work much more!
Most people are deciding wether to buy the cheap option or to treat thereselves to the nice expensive option. Fat cats have these conversations.....
I heard that Mike Ashley and Daniel Levy were having a drink together and decided to have a pound bet on each other to buy a premier league football club and see who could win the league first.
I love the way EA have accounted that 50% of the people who bought sims were new customers to them. So they will be displeased to hear that I have a way of working around these stupid companies that enforce log in to play the game I just bought. I basically create an account with a bunch of fake details to get logged in as soon as possible, obviously if I buy another one of their games then I will not remember those details, so therefore create another account with fake details!!
I remember that I played hours and hours of Rambi's arena in Donkey Kong 64 when it originally released, then about 10 years later I got the chance to play again and my fingers knew the buttons without even a flinch of hesitation.
@Scollurio I do seem to have lots of questionable ideas/opinions, or maybe I don't articulate my words in a way to give my real feelings, sorry. I do totally undersatnd how the triggers would be right for driving games, the mechanics just make sense. But I have never really been big on driving games, obviously being a nintendo fan I have played all the mario karts (and excite truck), but if I look back on them I only really like super circuit and the snes version. Both of which I spent MANY hours playing, but me and friend who still often play those two versions, we actually consider taking your finger off the accelerator as cheating lol. I think you nailed my thinking when you said, you don't play doom with a steering wheel. Obviously the PS5 is not that bad and the more I play it has become less annoying. But I would still be happier if the new switch doesn't have them.
@Stwert I wouldn't argue with anyone prefers them, and I can totlly understand their advantage for driving games. Maybe they just didn't meet the expectations I had built up from reading about them.
I also wouldn't disagree that the gamecube controllers, they are one of my favourite too, I loved the wavebird.
