Re: Nintendo Is "Acting To Protect The Industry" With Switch 2 Game Key Cards, Says Ex-Capcom Composer

Nintendo has taken action where there isn't any. It maybe the wrong way in your opinion but they are doing more than others.
Every knows that we should be protected as consumers but the rules are just not in place for digital sales. This is Nintenco trying to preempt rules being put into place and have something already in place. I think they feel something needs to be done as we change into a digital world.
But is not worth all the complaining and cancelling, your only cutting your nose off to spite your face with that.

@AllBLK Why would you call people names who disagree with you? Do you think that will change there optinion to aline with yours. Why do feel it neccesary to change other peoples opinion?

I will continue to spend far too much money with Nintendo than I really should. In fact would it make you happy to know I flew all the way to Japan so I could spend even more of my money with them!!!!!!!

@electrolite77 I agree the switch does seem to have learned that lesson. But when it comes to the AAA titles they have not made it easy enough to port them from one to another, we seem to be in the same place as a few systems ago!
@Jeronan I think Nintendo prefers a closed system that doesn't allow that/
@SBandy1
Nintendo have always been catching up with the other in certain regards. But I have often felt that Nintendo does not do enough to make their systems run alongside the others. It seems to me that if you make a game for sony and then want to put it on Xbox it doesn't take much. Whereas to transfer that to a Nintendo system it never seems to be that easy.

It seems that Nintendo has left itself on the side shelf again by not making a sytem that easily codes with others. This will hamper the output that the switch gets from third parties. Very similar to some of the previous consoles really.
I don't think Nintendo care too much, if you want your game on their system then you play there game. Lets face it it's there own games that sell their consoles, not third parties.

Re: CD Projekt Reveals 75% Of Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Sales Were Physical In Opening Month

I really don't see the issue of game cards, it seems like a good middle ground between physical and digital.
But this stat is merely an excuse for marketing, they had a strong enough release to put it on a cartridge and some games don't. Add to the fact that they know as well as we do that despite the fact this stat shows consumers do want physical media the industry is not going in that direction.

I loved the first Resident Evil on the Gamecube and regard 4 as one of the best games ever made. Didn't go so much on a few of the others.
Obviosuly being a Nintendo gamer I have missed out on some of the newer one's which I read as being pretty good. It would be nice to have a chance to play some of them.

Re: Pokémon TCG Pocket Updates Card Art Following Plagiarism Allegations

@Fiergala I had wanted to reply to you previously but was too busy at the time. I understood your last comment and just wanted to make mine clearer.
Firstly I 100% have no issues with anyone drawing whatever they want, the area that complicates this for me is the law. And then solicitors etc. who cloud the lines of legality. This then in turn makes difficult situations for companies, very similar to this tcg card. Neither the drawer of the art in question or the Pokémon company had any issues with either side, however because of the law it then impacted what the Pokémon company felt they should do.
This is often the case and it annoys me to think that if I came up with a character that I would have to be careful because of law. When really you should have license to do what you want with what you created.
As I say my issue is with a stupid law that makes the two sides look like they dislike each other when I really don’t think they do. So when a company looks over zealous towards some art, like some others would do, I don’t see the issue the same.

@Arnie4490 I contenplated your reply last night and I have taken the critism on board, I also apologise if I offended you. As much as I would prefer that someone with a vested interest in gaming was responsible for this job, I should not have presumed in such a way about this person.
I do still stick to the opinion with regards to not caring if AI or a real person does this job, but I will try not to add stupid comments with it in future.

This whole cancel culture is so bad, I really am glad I don't use social media. When I think back to my youth, 70's/80's and what would have been cancelled within society then. Wow I think if I even mentioned the type of subjects that would have been cancelled then my comment would get cancelled by nintendolife.
The same with regards to many commentors in the recent microsoft lay offs story, they say 'I will never buy anything microsoft again'. I mean I agree that it's probably not a good idea to go chucking money at them, but hang on you might be cutting your nose off to spite your face with that comment. Especially as it probably doesn't matter what you buy nowadays it's probalby stained with something that people wouldn't like. So your probably selling your soul to the devil no matter what you do.
I like the principles that people have more often but I hope they don't let it imapct themselves too much, because take it from an old person you probably will impact yourself far more than the person you are trying to do it too.

Re: "It Will Have A Chilling Effect On Game Design" - EU Group Responds To 'Stop Killing Games'

dew12333

It's sad that this subject is dividing gamers, you can see this in this comment section. The whole situation boils down to poor regulation, online gaming is a newer thing and therefore the old consumer rights do not cover the individual situations that online gaming has bought to the table. Governments across the world should have investigated this and brought in rules that both consumers and games maker would both act fairly. Currently we have games companies doing as they wish because there is nothing to stop them.

So trusting that countries will regulate this in a way that works is plain stupidity, hell they should have done it years ago!
