Looks great and no doubt will be pure fan **** with nods to previous games. I expect Mario 2 will just appear as a quick bad dream scene at some point.
Surprised no Yoshi just yet but was fun spotting Odyssey upside down Pyramid world.
Definitely won't see it until after the Easter Holidays in the UK. Made that mistake with first one and having a child say, "That's Mario Dad" every fricken time he appeared did my head in. π
@Ralek85 I enjoyed the P-Switch Challenges although some of them really annoyed me. Fair enough though.
I fully expect the map to flip and we get a full new world to 'explore' but with double the tracks and a 200cc mode as part of their paid dlc. I'd love a boss mode where they are Diddy Kong Racing style bosses too.
Classic GP needs to be added too. I feel like I got to know the tracks better in free roam than the game due to some only being 1 lap.
@Ralek85 Bloated and Pointless Open World for MKW. Guessing you didn't explore it (without using a guide) to find all 394 P-Switches, 200 Medallions or 150 Question Mark Blocks.
Bored within a day? If that's the case you must have got bored of MK8d in 3 days thenπ€£.
@Blast16 I recommend selling your Switch 1 to help... Knocking Β£140 off the price was a nice incentive and was surprised as I had a day one original Switch.
Well, I'm loving Mario Kart World. Having put 80 hours in so far without touching the online modes and only getting to grips with free roam for the past month I am very happy with it.
And I would have been happy paying Β£75 for it tbh. Although it cost me Β£35 in the bundle.
I did use to explore every inch of the tracks back in the Snes and N64 days though so free roam is right up my street and something I've wanted for 33 years. I'm sitting at 354 P-Switches so nearly there.
The way the vocal minority goes on I'm guessing they would hate MK8 when it launched on the Wii U.
Yes you were spoilt by MK8D but you benefitted from the game already being 3 years old at launch and getting more dlc afterwards.
Mario Kart World will get loads more characters, cups/tracks and guessing another whole map to explore down the line. However, the same vocal minority will complain about the price for the dlc when it arrives.
As for Sonic, just from the Switch 1 demo I thought it was awful. It's missing the polish of Mario Kart although the track changing mid race is a nice feature. It looks like a mobile game and for me plays like one with the karts not even gripping the track.
However, the author couldn't be arsed to even play through all the cups in Mario Kart World. I stopped reading the article after that... π
I think we should get an option to draw our own stickers (using mouse mode) and then it can be on your Kart. Think the DS version allowed this. Could be a potential future update.
I'm still surprised some people think the game was unfinished at launch.
The whole point of Free Roam was at first to explore it. Having 312 P-Switches and 110 Medallions before this update has been fun.
I've not played online yet but have clocked up 70 hours already.
Guessing they'd think that Mario Kart 8 was unfinished if they bought the original launch version on wii u before the paid dlc and updates. Especially as it's Battlemode sucked.
Remember Mario Kart 8 deluxe benefitted from this.
I think the classic gp, more characters and costumes will come free eventually.
Paid DLC will add more tracks and a whole new Map for free roam (along with Rainbow Road to get you there), but I'm not expecting this to appear til the 1st Anniversary.
As the system failed it really shouldn't be regarded as a 'Nintendo Classic'.
Rather than locking it behind the online service I also think they should have simply released the plastic and cardboard versions at retail including a cartridge with all the games on instead.
The option to play in 2D should also be an option.
Any news on a restock of the snes controller and an updated NES one without rails? That's what I'm waiting for. π
I do like the look of it but I'm worried it'll be just as bland as Yoshi's Story back on the N64 but this time you interact with set characters per book page rather than collect fruit. The recent Crafted World was repetitive too although I enjoyed it.
Still hoping for a Woolly World port eventually though.

Re: PSA: You Can Now Remap 'Nintendo Classics' NES And Game Boy Controls
Still hoping they release a rail-less version of the nes controller with normal usb charging.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets The Trailer We've Been Waiting For
So no direct then but this trailer is just enough and it looks great in 4K.
Roll on 4/12.

Re: Reggie Is "Surprised" We Haven't Seen More Xbox Titles On Switch 2
@AnnoyingFrenzy
It is but the nintendo games are a big part of the Online service so unfortunately I can't see it getting a separate release.
I'd definitely buy it.
Re: UK Charts: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Just About Scrapes Into The Top Five
That's a good placement really for this type of game.
I expect Kirby to do worse π
Re: PSA: SNES Controller For Switch Online Is Finally Back In Stock (UK)
Quick question. I got mine on Friday. Anyone having sync issue with Switch 2. I have to pair it each time I use it so far.
Oh, finally beat Super Ghouls N' Ghosts with heavy rewind use. Great having a proper d-pad again.
Hoping they do a new version of NES controller without the rails and just usb in the future π
Re: PSA: SNES Controller For Switch Online Is Finally Back In Stock (UK)
Took you lot long enough to report it as I commented about it on Thursday. Guessing you don't read direct replies. π€£

Re: Kirby Air Riders Looks To Be Powered By Bandai Namco's New In-House Engine
I just didn't enjoy the game as without controlling the acceleration it feels like a mobile game and a bit like sonic on rails.
Having put 90 hours into Mario Kart World this seems very basic and just dull in comparison to me.
Loved the music though. Bored of the Smash style aesthetic.
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment's Ace Soundtrack Comes Courtesy Of NieR Composers

SNES Switch Controllers are in stock at the UK Nintendo Store right now.
Re: Nintendo: 84% Of Switch 2 Players Transitioned From The Original Switch
@Blast16 I recommend selling your Switch 1 to help... Knocking Β£140 off the price was a nice incentive and was surprised as I had a day one original Switch.
I wanted MKW and DKB though.
Re: Supply Of Switch Hardware Will Continue If Enough Demand Persists
Obviously a no brainer for Nintendo at the moment.
I do think they should discontinue the original version though sooner rather than later but keeping the OLED and Lite.
Re: Nintendo Releases A Storefront App For Android And iOS
Weird seeing all my wii u play activity or lack of it. Switch really did rekindle my love of Nintendo and videogames in general.
Only thing missing is an option to remove demo's in 1 go rather than have to click on them individually to remove.
Re: Sakurai Has No Plans For Kirby Air Riders DLC: "Everything Is Here"
I hope he is working on a new Kid Icarus now.
With Smash I can see them releasing Ultimate again but with all dlc included along with more characters and a solo story mode.
If they go backwards and offer less with a completely new Smash the complaints will be similar to MKW being compared to MK8D.
Re: Metroid Prime Remastered Almost Had Completely New Cutscenes
We might see the remasters of 2 and 3 next year as part of Metroid's 40th Anniversary.
Starting it off slightly early with MP4.
That or they'll focus on Zelda's 40th instead like usual.
Re: Nintendo Direct For Kirby Air Riders Announced For Thursday, 23rd October
Yay. One to miss.
Wake me up if they do a Metroid Prime Beyond one.
Re: Nintendo's Trademarking 'Virtual Console' Again, But Don't Get Your Hopes Up

NSO with games included and then option of buying the games separately.
Ka-Ching!
And no doubt the people buying the games separately would still complain.
Re: Nintendo Reportedly Increases Switch 2 Production To 25 Million Units For Year 1

Getting the MKW Bundle was a reward though. We got MKW for Β£35 instead of Β£70.

Re: Poll: So, Did You Get Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 For Switch?
Played my wii copy of Mario Galaxy 2 finally back in 2019 before selling my wii u and remaining physical wii/wii u games.
Both games are brilliant but I have no need to revisit them.
I might do in 20 years when they are included on Nintendo Switch 5 Online service though. Unless I'm dead π.

Re: Review: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (Switch) - Cracking Karting, But Struggles To Keep Up On Switch

Mario Kart World and every other Mario Kart is so much better.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 For Switch?
It is good that they are there for people who haven't played them but I have no need to revisit the games even though they are both great.
Happy to wait for the next 3D Mario as I got my 3D fix from Donkey Kong Bananza which to me was very Mario in a good way.
As for amiibo I only collected the Smash ones so I'm glad that has ended.
Re: Surprise! Kirby Air Riders Is Getting A Second Direct
One for me to miss as i have no interest in this game.
I just hope it does well so that Nintendo might revive other dormant franchises (Wave Race, Star Fox and F-zero).
Looking forward to the Metroid Direct they forgot to announce π¬.
Re: Mario Tennis Fever Hits Switch 2 Next February
Mario Tennis Aces was disappointing and didn't feel finished when it was released especially if playing on your own. So not going to be burned again.
Re: A Brand New Yoshi Adventure Is Heading To The Switch 2

Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Is Getting A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Bored of Switch 2 editions of old Switch 1 games already.
At least I can save my money for all the new stuff to start in a years time then... Maybe.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
I know there'll be a separate direct but the release date reveal should have been a bigger thing with a better trailer.
The bike looks odd though.
Re: Virtual Boy Is Being Added To Nintendo Switch Online
I was hoping for a new rail-less nes pad and snes pad restock. π
Re: Surprise! Donkey Kong Bananza Is Getting DLC, And It's Out Today
Loved the main game and put 85 hours in to it but apart from seeing Kong Island I'm not fussed on this mode.
Once my friend completes it I'll sell my copy as planned. I'll watch someone play through the dlc on YouTube.
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time
If you aren't desperate to play them again just wait a couple of years for the Wii to be added to the online subscription.
Great games that I'm glad I got back when they were first released but have no need to revisit.
Roll on the next new 3D mario in November 2026...
Re: Japanese Charts: Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots Scores An Eagle Despite Mixed Reception
@ParrakerriRush 3D Mario doesn't do that well in Japan either if I remember right. It definitely deserves to be over 1 million by now though.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
Metroid Prime 2 (and 3) Remaster.
Metroid Prime 4 release date.
Age of Calamity release date.
Super Mario Bros 40 (35 sequel).
Mario Kart World update with new characters/outfits and Classic mode.
Maybe a tease of next 2D or 3D mario.
Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?
Good for me. Only bought MKW, DKB and Welcome Tour so far.
There's no rush but MP4 and Hyrule Warriors are next on my to buy list.
I expect 2026 will be the year things start taking off.
Re: PSA: Switch Online Offering "Two Bonus Months" With 12-Month Memberships (Europe)

Re: Review: Kirby And The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World - Kirby's Best Shines Even Brighter
Having completed and sold the Switch 1 version years ago I won't be double dipping but highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't already played it.
Re: Rumour: A Nintendo Direct Is Reportedly Coming Ahead Of Mario's 40th Anniversary
I don't see a game suddenly dropping unless it is Super Mario Bros 40 as 35 was great.
They might announce the full title of the Mario 2 movie and some 40 related merchandise though.
Re: Mario Kart World Wins "Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game" Of Gamescom 2025
Well, I loved DKB and MKW is great too which I will now go back to, having finished DKB.
MKW will no doubt be improved with dlc over the next few years and eventually be on par, content wise with MK8D.
Welcome Tour is good fun too and well worth the price if you are interested in console design details and a bit of nintendo nostalgia.
There's a lot of hate for Nintendo on here nowadays. Much more than when the Wii U was released. Shame really.
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's Dig Button Placement Is All Thanks To Miyamoto
I didn't even notice tbh and played the game with the preset buttons.
85 hours 100% completed.
Do we know if there'll be any DLC? Any hints of it at all? The UK box suggests in game purchases...
Re: Preview: Sakurai's Kirby Air Riders Is A Kaleidoscopic Adrenaline Rush
This one isn't for me but good for those who are looking forward to it.
Mario Kart World hasn't got anything to worry about and tbh I think it is a mistake to release this so close to that.
I hope Nintendo think about F-zero and waverace next though as they have been 'resting' for far too long.

Re: PSA: Shoot Some Hoops With Drag x Drive's Dev Team This Weekend
I've had fun so far. Unfortunately online ball hoggers spoil the enjoyment when they don't pass to you even though you do to them.
PS. Don't use your bare legs if wearing shorts. I had to use my chopping board in the end.
Surprised Nintendo hasn't announced their own mouse mat similar to the plastic one I got with Mario Party in 1992.
