As long as it isn't 20 minutes explaining joycons again like they did with the Switch 1 or their amazing rumble which I've found to be awful on Switch games for the last 8 years....
Nintendo won't call us players. That is Sony's slogan... "For the players."
I'm a gamer. Have been since 1991. Not sure why some in this thread dislike the term.
It's great that Switch 2 is backwards compatible for those who need it and it is great for Nintendo as they can continue to sell their Switch 1 games.
They might even bring back the select range once they no longer make Switch 1 consoles.
I simply have no time to replay Switch 1 games I've already completed though. Time to move on to the new exclusives...
They need to overhaul the eshop though as it already has so much on it, good and very bad.
They'll just bundle another game with each switch if they are wanting to sell old stock once the Super Nintendo Switch is out.
They'll probably not restock both the original and oled version once it is out too with the lite still being left on sale for at least the first year before the Super Nintendo Switch Lite comes out.
I still say no to a direct this year as we have their line up for the rest of 2024.
Direct in early January for full MP4 reveal and March/April release date. Along with MP2 and MP3 Remastered dates. With MP2 digital released after the presentation.
End of January/ Early February for Super Nintendo Switch reveal. With end of May release date.
Although I preferred TOTK story, for me BOTW was a much better experience as everything was fresh in 2017. I wasn't a fan of Ultrahand as I was ***** at building
I hope the next one is set somewhere other than Hyrule. I'd happily see the current characters of Zelda and Link remain the same though.
Hopefully, they started work on the next game long before TOTK was finished.
I'd give it a 6 or 7. I enjoyed the 6 hours of gameplay to play through 30 levels and 5 bosses, although I didn't go back to collect any gems I missed.
I'd still class it as a platformer with some unique elements thrown in.
Already sold the game on as I don't keep them these days. I don't think it is worth £40 though. I've gotten a lot more enjoyment out of other 2D and 3D Mario games at the same price.
If you don't 'collect' games I'd definitely recommend buying Peach on cartridge for Mario fans who sell their games on. It offers a good 6 hours of playtime.
I couldn't be bothered to go back to collect the Gems I'd missed though after completing the story.
Already sold my copy on eBay so after fees/postage it has cost me £2 which isn't bad at all. 🙂
It won't have sold out. Amazon UK do this all the time where an item vanishes then is back up a few days later. It'll be the same on the USA store.
And again, Thursday is the new release date in UK and a lot of other territories too. Surprised you haven't done an article to say UK pre orders have gone up £6 since your article last week too.

Re: Check Out Donkey Kong Bananza's Beautiful Switch 2 Box Art
@Patendo Remember the physical price is Nintendo's RRP from The Nintendo Store so there will still be cheaper options from other stores.

As long as it isn't 20 minutes explaining joycons again like they did with the Switch 1 or their amazing rumble which I've found to be awful on Switch games for the last 8 years....
Apart from my rant I'm looking forward to it 😊.
Re: Nintendo Treehouse Returns This Week With Two Presentations On Switch 2 Gameplay
I'll probably just read the highlights here as I don't want to spoil the games I'll be buying too much. 🙂
Re: Rumour: Zelda Live-Action Movie Will Reportedly Be Part Of A "Trilogy"
Chris Pratt dubbing over the voice of Link, although he doesn't speak in the films. Maybe.
Be good if was a trilogy. Looking for each part of the Triforce per film maybe.
Re: Talking Point: Which Switch Game Needs A 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' The Most?
What Switch game do you want to see get a 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition'?
None. I won't be rebuying a Switch 1 game I've already completed.
Hoping Metroid Prime 4 improves things automatically with the same Switch 1 cartridge though, when played on Switch 2.

Re: Talking Point: What We Expect From The Switch 2 Direct
New Pro Controller with a decent dpad this time that doesn't make your character randomly change direction on nes/snes games.
That is all 😁.
Re: Poll: Will You Trade In Your Switch When Switch 2 Arrives?
Considering I sell my physical games after completion I'll be selling my Switch and the Pro Controllers.
Recently sold a pair of Joy Cons too.
The money I get helps fund the cost of the Switch 2. Got a good 8 years out of my grey day one Switch though 🙂.
Re: Talking Point: Why An LCD Screen Isn't The End Of The World For Switch 2
I don't play handheld so no need for OLED for me. That's why I still have my launch day switch.
I have an 2017 OLED TV with Burn in though and have ordered a non OLED TV in preparation for my Switch 2.
I might go back to OLED in future but only if Burn In is no longer a thing.
Re: Nintendo President Reiterates Switch Online Will "Continue To Be Available" For Switch 2
@JohnnyC
That's why they released that vertical joy con charging stand in preparation.
But I also think they'll re-release the nes pads without the rail that can be charged via usb. I'll buy one then.
Re: Rumour: Switch 2 Game Cases Might Take Up More Space On Your Shelf
Yup. Very likely so that thick people don't buy a Switch 2 game to use in a Switch 1.
I'd prefer the Switch 2 cartridge box to be smaller than the Switch 1 box though.
Re: Another Switch 2 Accessory Is On The Way, Pre-Orders Are Now Live
@Nightcrawler71
The Pro Controller most likely will be compatible but I'll be upgrading to the Switch 2 version.
Guessing there'll be a redesign for their NES pad now without the rails too. Hopefully it'll just have a usb cable for charging like the SNES ones.
Re: Nacon Expects Switch 2 To Launch In The First Half Of Next Fiscal Year
@nhSnork
Early adopters aren't basic consumers. The release before Summer is for us, the fans.
Others will follow in the Autumn of course.
Nintendo is making enough to guarantee they can keep up. Switch 1 sales will start dropping drastically since the announcement.
Re: Nacon Expects Switch 2 To Launch In The First Half Of Next Fiscal Year
May or June release.
They've been in production since September and Switch 1 will no doubt have stopped being produced by now except for maybe the Lite.
Nintendo are ready. Otherwise the big reveal would have been in August and not April.

Re: Switch 2 Supply Chain Figures Reportedly Revealed Ahead Of 2025 Launch
I'm guessing they have probably stopped production of the standard Switch 1 at this point.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Trailer Gives First Official Look At The New Console
@DoubleDate
You can't compare that Playstation 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 all look different as an argument about Nintendo Switch 2 looking like Nintendo Switch 1.
They are home consoles FFS. Not portable Hybrids.
You should be looking at the how GameBoy compared to GameBoy Colour, Gameboy Advance to DS, DS to 3DS, then Switch 1 to 2.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Trailer Gives First Official Look At The New Console
Surprised they were right. But good to see the console.
So glad it is called Nintendo Switch 2 so dumb consumers will understand what it is going forward.
Roll on April...

Re: Round Up: 'Switch 2' Renders Suggest A Sleek, Classy Successor
With Christmas buyers able to return items until 31st January at most retailers I still don't expect any official announcement until February.
There's no big game releasing in February so it's a perfect month to reveal the actual console and the games.
Mario Kart X, 3D Mario, Splatoon 4 are pretty much likely to be out in the first year too.
Nintendo Switch 2 is the most likely name as it is straight to the point for general consumers to understand.
I'd love a snes coloured one or at least coloured buttons again.
Re: Poll: Does Anyone Actually Use The Switch Joy-Con Straps?
I don't use my joy-cons either. 🫤
Re: PSA: If You're Into Switch 2 'Leaks', It's The Wild West Out There Right Now
Roll on February for the full reveal. 🤞🏻
If it is called Super Nintendo Switch I hope it is snes coloured for the launch model.
Mario Kart will definitely be in the launch window line-up. That is a reason for people to upgrade in itself.
I like the idea of the dock being smaller. That will help the general public see the difference.
Re: Dbrand Seems To Have Shared Images Of Switch 2 Inside Its New Case
I'm still more interested in the new dock. Hoping it does something more than just allow it to work on the TV etc...
I'll only play it at home on the TV.
And of course it'll look similar to the Switch. The 3D printed prototypes they have here are so they can design the cases in preparation.
Roll on the full reveal next year.
Re: Talking Point: With 'Switch 2' Coming, Will Switch Get A Price Cut?
They'll just bundle another game with each switch if they are wanting to sell old stock once the Super Nintendo Switch is out.
They'll probably not restock both the original and oled version once it is out too with the lite still being left on sale for at least the first year before the Super Nintendo Switch Lite comes out.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Mario & Luigi: Brothership?
Clickedy Click... Can't review it til I finish it.
Re: Plans To Announce The 'Switch 2' Have Not Changed, Says Nintendo's President
A short teaser with the name reveal in early February.
We'll then get a bigger full reveal at a Nintendo event in Japan late March or early April.
Release will be June or July 2025.
Re: So, Will You Be Listening To The New Mobile App Nintendo Music?
I will use it when I eventually renew my subscription. Probably when Splatoon 4 comes out on the Switch 2.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Confirmed For Switch
So Metroid Prime 4 is potentially April 2025.
I'd still like a Yoshi's Wooly World port on Switch.
Switch 2 launch May/June 2025… maybe?
Re: Random: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Fans Are In Uproar Over A Missing Outfit
Uproar is a bit extreme tbf.
Zelda was always in her nightie for me. Went well with the bed I constantly used.
Completed and sold on now as I wait for my next Switch Fix.
Re: Anniversary: 8 Years Since Nintendo Unveiled Switch, The World Awaits The Next Reveal
All I am thinking is it is such a shame we never got Super Mario Odyssey 2 or at least a second new 3D Mario on the Switch.
2025 though. Here we go!
Re: Nintendo Asks Switch Online Playtest Program Participants To "Not Discuss Or Disclose Content"
I'm sure we'll read all about it when NL publish many articles once the leaks start.
Re: Talking Point: After A September No-Show, Will There Be An October Nintendo Direct?
I still say no to a direct this year as we have their line up for the rest of 2024.
Direct in early January for full MP4 reveal and March/April release date. Along with MP2 and MP3 Remastered dates. With MP2 digital released after the presentation.
End of January/ Early February for Super Nintendo Switch reveal. With end of May release date.
Maybe.
Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Will Launch Early Next Year, Claims Accessory Company
I still think May. That's early next year.
Re: Random: Someone 3D Printed The Rumoured 'Switch 2' Design
I'm more interested in seeing the new dock at this point. Even fake ones. Roll on late January...
Re: Rumour: Supposed 'Switch 2' Design Photos And Specs Surface Online
Eurogamer has confirmed the images are fake.
Re: Poll: With 'Switch 2' Rumours Swirling, Will There Be A September Direct This Year?
I can't see Switch 2 being officially announced til late January/early February. With a May 2025 release.
It is not like previously where the Wii U was dead so we got a teaser trailer in October 2016 with the full reveal event in January 2017.
Re: Soapbox: Sony's Insane PS5 Pro Price Highlights The Delicate Balance Nintendo Must Strike With 'Switch 2'
I see the Switch 2 being priced at £350 to £400 max. I still can't see it being officially announced til February with a May 2025 release date.
I expect Metroid Prime 4 to be out in March 2025.
As for PS5 Pro it is expensive but will have a small audience until the next GTA game comes out which will improve sales.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda '80s Cartoon Series Gets DVD Re-Release
I already own Zelda, all Mario and Captain N on dvd. They came out in the noughties on Region 1 dvd.
Re: Nintendo Is Expanding Switch Online's NES Library With Another Classic
Somehow, Tetris returned...
Re: Talking Point: Will The Switch Ever Get A 'Nintendo Selects' Range?
Most likely no. There's no need. Especially if the Switch successor is backwards compatible with Switch cartridges and digital games.
They won't want to be in a situation like ubisoft where a large majority now wait for the inevitable price reduction.
Re: Poll: Are You Ready To Move On From The Switch?
I'm ready but I can't see the successor coming out til at least May 2025 now.
Full announcement February 2025.
MP4 on Switch March 2025.
Re: Poll: Is $60 Too Much For Nintendo's Switch Re-Releases?
Guess this poll isn't for me as I'm in the UK.
But for Paper Mario TTYD I'd say yes. However I do sell my games on after I complete them so it'll end up costing me less than £10 overall.
Re: Nintendo Will Continue To Support Physical Media And "Maximise" All Software Sales
This is good news as I buy, complete and sell on games. It'll keep CEX open too. 🤣
Re: Talking Point: Will Nintendo Wring One More Holiday From Switch Before Revealing New Hardware?
We might get a teaser after Black Friday in November, but full reveal in January and a March 2025 release.
It'll definitely play Switch 1 physical/digital games though.
Switch 1 will get a 2 games bundle offer to sell as much remaining stock at Xmas.

Already sold my copy on eBay so after fees/postage it has cost me £2 which isn't bad at all. 🙂
Re: Nintendo's Museum Apparently Won't Be Finished In March
At least this one will be an official delay unlike the Switch 2 which hasn't been announced yet. 😁
Re: Review: Princess Peach: Showtime! (Switch) - Peach Breaks A Leg In A High-Class Production
For those in the UK you can get it from shopto outlet on eBay for £36.68 using code FRESH20 at the moment.
Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Tops Amazon's 'Best-Sellers' Chart As Pre-Orders Sell Out (US)
