SNES games are definitely coming. Even without Rumours or Datamining. It has always been on the cards. And the price will remain at £18 for the year. And the majority of people on Nintendo sites will still complain.... forever.
As usual I pay £18 a year to play Switch Games I own online. The rest they give us is to me, a bonus.
I already own NES and SNES minis. And have VC still on my Wii U. I have no need to rebuy games to 'own' them again.
I still expect the N64 mini to turn up at least a year before it hits the Switch Online Service too.
They will probably show the final smash surprise of the year so we have seen it all before we get to play it. The ridiculous coverage at E3, the directs and treehouses this year have pretty much spoilt the game.
Hoping I am wrong and we get Metroid 4 trailer though. Pretty Please Nintendo.
I picked it up from Sainsburys as they had the double up nectar points deal on last week so got it for free. Otherwise I wouldn't have paid full price for it.
Yoshi in it's current form reminds me of Yoshi's Story on N64. Which was ultimately lifeless and disappointingly short. I hope the final version is more in tune with Yoshi's Island and Wooly World.
When I picked up Mario Party at Smyths the 6 customers in front of me all picked up the fortnite console.... Hopefully that bundle sells well to extend the user base.
For those in UK living near Smyths it is worth doing the pre-order for collection on certain games as you get a fiver off too.
I'd like them to include the instruction manuals in the options.
I do find that the sound makes the odd crackling noise as if a wire isn't plugged in correctly when there is no music.
And the fact high scores are only saved if you create a save file is a bit lazy as could easily patch it so it saves seperately.
But a good start overall as to me it is a 'free bonus' as the subscription cost is so I can play Switch games online. Hope we get more games monthly and nintendo starts to tell us stuff beforehand.
I couldn't afford those at time -hoping to go to a future Zelda one too. I know it would give me goosebumps. I wish they toured the UK though as I'm in Newcastle. They always stick to London.
I sold my wii u version to fund getting mk8d. It is already the ultimate version of the original 2014 release. I only have 25 hours played on Switch as did too many hours on Wii U.
I can see them potentially adding some dlc in the form of characters or linking in with the mobile game later. But not new tracks.
Mk9 is what I'd prefer. But I don't expect it til at least Xmas 2019/Summer 2020.
I just want new games announced and a few surprising release dates this year. Hope we have more than just Smash, Pokémon and Yoshi to look forward to in 2018.
Well I had no intention of buying the same retro games I bought on the Wii and WiiU again. I even have the NES and SNES mini and will no doubt get the N64 mini. So no real loss for the Virtual Console.
I will subscribe to play current games online -whatever NES/SNES and beyond games we get is not the reason to get the online service.
Nintendo has had a great year and because I got it on release so have I. It basically awakened my love of games and Nintendo. A year in I am yet to finish Zelda...
Speaking of Zelda has anyone else got the glitch where it now shows as 0 in hours played. Noticed it last night when I stopped playing at 2am. Nintendo are aware of it apparently.
Played it yesterday as Demo went live around 3pm. Although I like the graphic style and music it is just not fun for me as a 1 player experience with the CPU characters getting in the way. The controls feel a bit off too. They feel 'floaty'. Like a millisecond out of sync when you press the buttons. And the Boss battles were basically just button bashing.
Nothing for me at all. Only just got back into Zelda BOTW after Mario took over my gaming life so have many hours to put into it. Got Spla2oon recently too so lots to do. I do like Kirby visuals but with no Online Co-op I will give it a miss. I understand peoples concerns over this years announced games but more will come. Mario Tennis will be my next retail purchase, even if it is in June, followed by Yoshi.
I don't think we will get dlc. They will go Galaxy route and we will get odyssey 2 in 2019 or 2020. But it would be great to play as different characters like Mario Bros 2.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE... Patience -Nintendo will announce their full Spring Line up in December. Then you can tell us all about the Ports and how rubbish Nintendo is. You will still be sitting on the Switch fence until at least 2019 me thinks.
Close call between mario 3 and world. Went with world. Does yoshi's island not count as a mario game. And will be between 64 and odyssey for me. But voted 64 as cant choose odyssey til ive finished it.
There will definitely be lots of surprises in 2018. Smash Deluxe will be out in Spring similar to Kart. I love Mario Odyssey (except for the forced motion controls using Pro/handheld -hoping for update to allow buttons for hat spin and hat thrown up above head). Well done Nintendo!
I want to see another 3d Mario, Mario kart 9 and Zelda on switch. I think this is the way forward for Nintendo. We might get a full 5 years of support for it too which would make sense -especially if there is no successor to the 3ds and switch is the only option for portable and console play.

Re: Nintendo Celebrates The First Anniversary Of Super Mario Odyssey
Great game. Pure Nostalgia for me and although it took me til January I got 100%.
It seems a lot of people played each world til they had enough moons to move on to get to the end of the 'story' quickly.
I played each world til I couldn't get anymore Moons then moved on which made the game last much longer and be a more enjoyable experience.
I look forward to the sequel. I just hope the next 3d Mario is on the Switch too.
Re: Anniversary: Super Mario Bros. 3 Turns 30 Years Old Today
Remember buying this in 1991 at Beatties in UK as was released then in Europe.
My favourite NES game. Spent a good few hours on Switch Online service doing every level in every world the other week. Still a classic.

Re: Video: Super Mario Party's Online Mode Is A Real Party Pooper
@Kinoen Birdo is in the game as she talks about the good old Party days. I expect her to be unlockable at some point.

Re: Rumour: The "Leaked" Smash Bros. Edition Switch Console Might Be Real After All
It's real. Was from a European online shop but not blurry on another nintendo site last week. Taken down a few mins later.
Re: Nintendo Direct Airing Tomorrow To Showcase Upcoming Switch And 3DS Titles
It will probably just be Mario Party and a bit more Pokémon info. And maybe the Online Service. Then 3DS ports.
Re: Random: Nintendo Finally Confirms The Correct Pronunciation For 'NES'
The NES and SNES were simply known as Nintendo to me back when I was young. As I was always playing on my Nintendo.
Memories. Nice to know though.

I'd love to go to this if it ends up in the UK.

Re: Feature: Talking Super Smash Bros. Ultimate With Nintendo's Bill Trinen And Nate Bihldorff
Did you ask about a single player story mode? I still hope there is a platform game element in there for each character. I can dream can't I... ?
Re: Fans Are Calling Out Nintendo And Camelot For "Lazy" Mario Tennis Aces
@SBandy Best comment in ages. NintendoLife certainly isn't as great as it used to be in terms of reviews and articles in general.
Re: Nintendo Says Switch User Playtime Is Split 50-50 Between Docked And Handheld
100% docked and the image on my 4k tv is brilliant too.
Re: Sakurai Is Well Aware That You Want Waluigi In Smash Bros. Ultimate, Says Reggie
They should make a Wario and Waluigi team up game similar to the Mario and Luigi ones.
Re: Yoshi For Nintendo Switch "Making Really Good Progress" Despite E3 No-Show
Feb 2019 release pretty please...
Re: Review: Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)
Will you be providing an updated review later on to include the online content? In the past you used to hold off reviews so you could fully test it.

Re: New And Improved Left Joy-Con May Be In The Works
a new left joycon might come bundled with smash with a dpad?
Re: Feature: The Biggest Retail Games Hitting Nintendo Switch This Spring
Just Mario Tennis for me. But as I'm still playing Zelda and Spla2oon all is good. I intend to go back to my unplayed Wii U games too if I get time.
I expect Nintendo to announce new stuff at E3 to take us to Xmas...
Re: Random: Join Us As We Do Our Best To Guess The Super Smash Bros. For Switch Roster
If it is smash 5 they could just put every character from every smash game and it be the ultimate version. And still add extras like bomberman etc...
Needs a proper single player adventure too though.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Life's Favourite Games From Switch's First Year
Mario Odyssey and Zelda BOTW.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year One: A Review
@SLIGEACH_EIRE . Can you answer this question please. Why did you buy a Nintendo Switch?
Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year One: A Review
Nintendo has had a great year and because I got it on release so have I. It basically awakened my love of games and Nintendo. A year in I am yet to finish Zelda...
Speaking of Zelda has anyone else got the glitch where it now shows as 0 in hours played. Noticed it last night when I stopped playing at 2am. Nintendo are aware of it apparently.
Happy Birthday Switch!

Yoshi where are you?
Re: Nintendo Has No Plans For A Switch 2.0, Sources Claim
Good decision as will confuse the market and annoy early adopters. There will be no Switch without the dock either as it wouldnt be a 'Switch'.
I expect them to keep the Switch branding for the next generation in 2021/2022 though with Switch 2.
Re: Guide: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For March And April

Re: Nintendo Switch Reaches 10 Million Global Sales In Its First Nine Months
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Finally... You will love Mario Odyssey. You just need the Pro-controller next.
Re: Soapbox: A Super Mario Odyssey Sequel or DLC is All But Guaranteed
I don't think we will get dlc. They will go Galaxy route and we will get odyssey 2 in 2019 or 2020. But it would be great to play as different characters like Mario Bros 2.
Re: Guide: The Best Nintendo Christmas Gifts For 2017 - UK Edition
For anyone wanting Fifa. It is still £29.95 at thegamecollection.net.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Gets Expansion Pass and Surprise Breath of the Wild Crossover
I'm not interested in the game but it will hopefully sell well. I wish Mario Odyssey got a collectors edition with cd and book though...

Re: Random: Did Reggie Just Accidentally Reveal Switch's Next Big Game Announcement?
DK Switch will be 3D no doubt when it comes...
Re: Nintendo is Heading for Its Best Ever eShop Revenues, Driven by Switch Success
I still prefer to get physical releases as I like the boxes and they are cheaper. Eshop used for download only games.
Re: Nintendo's Share Value Soars As Switch Is Projected To Ship 16.74 Million Units By March
Re: Super Mario Odyssey Gets A Day One Update, But Don't Expect Much
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Will this game temp you to pick up the Switch or are you holding off til next year?
Re: We Could See Another 3D Mario Game On Switch, According To Yoshiaki Koizumi
I want to see another 3d Mario, Mario kart 9 and Zelda on switch. I think this is the way forward for Nintendo. We might get a full 5 years of support for it too which would make sense -especially if there is no successor to the 3ds and switch is the only option for portable and console play.
Switch 2 can wait...
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Gets Updated, Here's What's New And Different
I don't think we will get any dlc updates such as karts, characters or new tracks as it is the deluxe version of the original.
I do hope we see Mario Kart 9 on the switch in a couple of years though and not switch 2.
Re: Soapbox: The Switch Has a Big Problem, and It's Too Many Great Games
I cant wait til March for sligeach_Eire to moan about the Smash Bros Deluxe release.... wiiU/3ds port blah blah blah....
In 2 weeks time I will own 3 retail switch games. But I am very happy with my launch day purchase. ZELDA/KART/ODYSSEY.
Re: Official Nintendo UK Store Opens Pre-Orders on Fire Emblem Warriors and Limited Edition
I'm suprised there's no mario odyssey limited edition.
Re: Random: There's a Mario and Peach Marriage License Available In Japan
So if they do get married at end of Odyssey will we get a Super Mario Jr. spin off next?
Re: Deals: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For October And November
Just Mario Odyssey for me but only coz I still need to finish Zelda. Got Mario Kart too which is great for quick blasts.
I'll only buy more if in sale or when i have finished the others. With Wii U I kept buying so have loads I never played...
Re: Poll: Nintendo's Switch Arcade Archives - Is It the Retro Gaming You Want?
None for me. If they were say £2 each Id consider it but the cost is over the top. When they put Snes games on are they gonna be a tenner each now?
Re: Super Mario Run Has a Major Update and Discount on the Way
Looking forward to finally getting the full game. Play it daily to stock up on useless platinum points. At a fiver can't say no.
