With Smash I can see them releasing Ultimate again but with all dlc included along with more characters and a solo story mode.

If they go backwards and offer less with a completely new Smash the complaints will be similar to MKW being compared to MK8D.

We might see the remasters of 2 and 3 next year as part of Metroid's 40th Anniversary.

Starting it off slightly early with MP4.

That or they'll focus on Zelda's 40th instead like usual.

Getting the MKW Bundle was a reward though. We got MKW for £35 instead of £70.

Played my wii copy of Mario Galaxy 2 finally back in 2019 before selling my wii u and remaining physical wii/wii u games.

Both games are brilliant but I have no need to revisit them.

I might do in 20 years when they are included on Nintendo Switch 5 Online service though. Unless I'm dead 👀.

Well, I'm loving Mario Kart World. Having put 80 hours in so far without touching the online modes and only getting to grips with free roam for the past month I am very happy with it.

And I would have been happy paying £75 for it tbh. Although it cost me £35 in the bundle.

I did use to explore every inch of the tracks back in the Snes and N64 days though so free roam is right up my street and something I've wanted for 33 years. I'm sitting at 354 P-Switches so nearly there.

The way the vocal minority goes on I'm guessing they would hate MK8 when it launched on the Wii U.

Yes you were spoilt by MK8D but you benefitted from the game already being 3 years old at launch and getting more dlc afterwards.

Mario Kart World will get loads more characters, cups/tracks and guessing another whole map to explore down the line. However, the same vocal minority will complain about the price for the dlc when it arrives.

As for Sonic, just from the Switch 1 demo I thought it was awful. It's missing the polish of Mario Kart although the track changing mid race is a nice feature. It looks like a mobile game and for me plays like one with the karts not even gripping the track.

However, the author couldn't be arsed to even play through all the cups in Mario Kart World. I stopped reading the article after that... 😊

Having played the demo I thought it was awful. Feels like a mobile game where the cars are floating.

Mario Kart World and every other Mario Kart is so much better.

I think we should get an option to draw our own stickers (using mouse mode) and then it can be on your Kart. Think the DS version allowed this. Could be a potential future update.

I'm still surprised some people think the game was unfinished at launch.

The whole point of Free Roam was at first to explore it. Having 312 P-Switches and 110 Medallions before this update has been fun.

I've not played online yet but have clocked up 70 hours already.

Guessing they'd think that Mario Kart 8 was unfinished if they bought the original launch version on wii u before the paid dlc and updates. Especially as it's Battlemode sucked.

Remember Mario Kart 8 deluxe benefitted from this.

I think the classic gp, more characters and costumes will come free eventually.

Paid DLC will add more tracks and a whole new Map for free roam (along with Rainbow Road to get you there), but I'm not expecting this to appear til the 1st Anniversary.

As the system failed it really shouldn't be regarded as a 'Nintendo Classic'.

Rather than locking it behind the online service I also think they should have simply released the plastic and cardboard versions at retail including a cartridge with all the games on instead.

The option to play in 2D should also be an option.

Any news on a restock of the snes controller and an updated NES one without rails? That's what I'm waiting for. 😊

It is good that they are there for people who haven't played them but I have no need to revisit the games even though they are both great.

Happy to wait for the next 3D Mario as I got my 3D fix from Donkey Kong Bananza which to me was very Mario in a good way.

As for amiibo I only collected the Smash ones so I'm glad that has ended.

One for me to miss as i have no interest in this game.

I just hope it does well so that Nintendo might revive other dormant franchises (Wave Race, Star Fox and F-zero).

Mario Tennis Aces was disappointing and didn't feel finished when it was released especially if playing on your own. So not going to be burned again.

I do like the look of it but I'm worried it'll be just as bland as Yoshi's Story back on the N64 but this time you interact with set characters per book page rather than collect fruit. The recent Crafted World was repetitive too although I enjoyed it.

Still hoping for a Woolly World port eventually though.

Bored of Switch 2 editions of old Switch 1 games already.

At least I can save my money for all the new stuff to start in a years time then... Maybe.

I know there'll be a separate direct but the release date reveal should have been a bigger thing with a better trailer.

Loved the main game and put 85 hours in to it but apart from seeing Kong Island I'm not fussed on this mode.

Once my friend completes it I'll sell my copy as planned. I'll watch someone play through the dlc on YouTube.

If you aren't desperate to play them again just wait a couple of years for the Wii to be added to the online subscription.

@ParrakerriRush 3D Mario doesn't do that well in Japan either if I remember right. It definitely deserves to be over 1 million by now though.

Good for me. Only bought MKW, DKB and Welcome Tour so far.

There's no rush but MP4 and Hyrule Warriors are next on my to buy list.

I expect 2026 will be the year things start taking off.

Last year they did the the buy 12 months get free 12 months for a friend offer.

Having completed and sold the Switch 1 version years ago I won't be double dipping but highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't already played it.

I don't see a game suddenly dropping unless it is Super Mario Bros 40 as 35 was great.

They might announce the full title of the Mario 2 movie and some 40 related merchandise though.

Well, I loved DKB and MKW is great too which I will now go back to, having finished DKB.

MKW will no doubt be improved with dlc over the next few years and eventually be on par, content wise with MK8D.

Welcome Tour is good fun too and well worth the price if you are interested in console design details and a bit of nintendo nostalgia.

There's a lot of hate for Nintendo on here nowadays. Much more than when the Wii U was released. Shame really.

Mario Kart World hasn't got anything to worry about and tbh I think it is a mistake to release this so close to that.

I hope Nintendo think about F-zero and waverace next though as they have been 'resting' for far too long.

I've had fun so far. Unfortunately online ball hoggers spoil the enjoyment when they don't pass to you even though you do to them.

PS. Don't use your bare legs if wearing shorts. I had to use my chopping board in the end.

Surprised Nintendo hasn't announced their own mouse mat similar to the plastic one I got with Mario Party in 1992.

Completed and sold the original game so won't be buying it again.

Just trade your current Switch 2 and use the money to get the revised version whenever that comes. Yes, you might need to pay out a bit more overall but at least you can enjoy Switch 2 games til then.

With the rumours that this is planned as a (Tri Force) Trilogy this casting is good news. Could easily start off a bit lighter in tone with the story getting darker as the characters get older.

Relatively unknowns. Hopefully this will continue with the rest of the cast.

Due to the Online icon rewards I ended up playing Metroid Fusion til completion last week but then moved straight on to Zero Mission and completed that too.

Well on the 17th they'll no doubt do an update to add Baby Pauline and more costumes for Donkey Kong and Pauline. They might even throw in a few more Kongs too.
