@Nintendo4Sonic That's not the reception it had at all. Upon release the game received mixed to positive reviews from critics.
Many reviews actually complimented the game on it' s deep arena style gameplay. And fun multiplier.
The major complains were mostly due to the limited movesets.
It's actually a fun and addicting little game. Just recently last year, modders have finally managed to break the game and add custom characters and movesets.
Im sorry you didn't like the game, but the your reception of it doesn't match the actual reception of the game from critics.
It sits at 69 on metacritic for whatever that's worth since people value that sites score for some odd reason. If you round it up that's a solid 7. User Score sits at 8.0
@SpoonySpoons I think culture plays a big role on how things are judged. I can't go through 30+ years worth of scores, but as someone who's glanced over them through the years. Many games here which got only so/so scores, got bigger scores there.
@Lizuka That may be true, but personally I was never a fan of Shadow even back then. I blame this on Sega for making the character the way he is.
Still though, I'm not a fan of modern Sonic's adventures anyways. Metal Sonic may not say anything, but for me he's more memorable than Shadow will ever be.
While it's pipe dream at this point, I still hope for a day classic Sonic gets his own animated show set in his original world.
@JackieCMarlow If these were the graphics in the ps2 days, alot of kids would be screaming how realistic it looks.
Heck, I still recall how God of War 2 pushed the limits of the ps2.
Shadow of the Colossus (My favorite game ever imo)
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Kingdom Hearts II
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
And a few more.
Devs really pushed the PS2 to absolute limits.
If the PS2 was even capable of this level of detail for the mentioned in the article, jaws would've dropped for sure. Heck, 360/PS3 might've already reached One/Ps4 graphics, and today we would be 12k 300 fps gaming.
@Lizuka Same here. I tried to give them o go with the mobile ports months ago, and completed the first but quit the second. For fans though, a Switch HD port collection sounds fun.
@JR150 Im not so sure on having a story mode. Especially with Nintendo behind the wheel. But I do like the idea of full customization to make a kart feel personal.
I guess this one of those things you have to see in person. To me, they look kinda cheap quality's wise. Could be the photos, the lightening or who knows.
You take a day off work, do a little grocery shopping, buy a few candles; Come home, prepare dinner, then get yourself all fancied up. Oh yeah, this evening is going to be one to remember.
After a candlelight dinner, it's time to head into the bedroom. Get undressed, turn off lights, hop in bed, and fire up some Goldeneye 64.
@PharoneTheGnome I can't speak for you or this game as I haven't played it yet, but I can understand.
Zelda: Link's Awakening is one of my favorite handhelds. I play it once every year or so. Despite the remake existing. I still find myself enjoying the old game.
My reasoning is while graphically the remake is treat, it's just a 1:1 copy of the GB game. I'm basically paying full price for an old game with a new coat of paint.
I wish Nintendo would do more with these remakes than just staying so faithful to the original to the point, I might as well just replay the original.
@Lizuka Everyone is jumping on you, but for what it's worth I agree. I don't think anyone is owed a refund or even anything for that matter. The DLC was free. So no one is out any money.
This just clashes too much for me. The main character and scenery look like something out of a fantasy world, but the NPC's look something out of instragram. It just takes me out.
I try to get into the series, but the teen aspect keeps pulling me out. I barely pushed through Persona 4 and even then, despite being near the end, I just could not complete it.
Oh well. Time splitters 4 was announced so long ago, I forgot it even existed till now. It's been 15 years already. It sucks, but my hype vanished already.
@Vyacheslav333 I did say ADDED bonus. At their core, fighting games are a multiplayer experience.
It's great that more studios are enriching their games with content that expands their universes. But, at it's heart, it's designed with competition in mind. The vast majority play these games because they like to compete with each other.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Favourite Character Reveal Trailer For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
I was hoping for Kratos to be a reveal.
Re: Geoff Keighley Reveals "Hype Trailer" For The Game Awards 2023
@Hints_Whispers Well, you don't have to watch anything. You wanna puke by choice it seems.
With that said, neither deserve goty, but one of them will get it anyways.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Batman: Vengeance (GBA)
Both look bad so I'm calling it a tie.
Re: Random: Waluigi Designer Shares Scrapped Character Art Of "Walpeach"
Look pretty generic. Honestly, though I'm glad they didn't. Wario was unique enough alone.
Waluigi went nowhere after his debut. No need for a Waverse.

Re: Nintendo Reminds Fans Zelda Is Up For Nomination At This Year's Game Awards
@russell-marlow @Not_Soos I'm going to be the crazy one here and say none of the nominations this year deserve GOTY award.
Re: Japanese Charts: Super Mario RPG Slips Into Third As Wonder Jumps Ahead
@bluemage1989 Never played Warioware. Had no idea it was a niche series. I'm still holding out hope Nintendo revives the Wario Land adventures.
Re: Japanese Charts: Super Mario RPG Slips Into Third As Wonder Jumps Ahead
Eh, seems about right.

Honestly, I wanted Metal Sonic over Shadow.
Re: The Legend Of Legacy HD Remastered Brings Cult 3DS RPG To Switch Next March
Been meaning to play the legendary The Legend Of Legacy.
Re: Capcom Ending Monster Hunter Rise "Collab DLC" In January 2024
@Snatcher You tried so hard, and got so far. But in the end, it doesn't even matter.

Re: Soapbox: Ganondorf's Villainous Intro In Ocarina Of Time Is One Of Gaming's Best
@bagajr @Spider-Kev To be even fairer, unless you played the previous games, a newcomer would have no idea who the guy is.

I guess this one of those things you have to see in person. To me, they look kinda cheap quality's wise. Could be the photos, the lightening or who knows.
They just don't look amazing.

Re: Random: Ocarina Of Time's Link Has Been Beautifully Recreated In Unreal Engine 5
I'm mixed on this. This version of Link has a weird uncanny valley effect. He looks like a weird lifelike doll.
Re: Switch Online Is Expanding The N64 Library With Rare's Jet Force Gemini
Wow, I remember this oddball game as a kid. Had fun. Co-op was nightmare though haha.
Re: Talking Point: Does Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Need A Full Remake?
I'd be okay with a remake. None of the fan ones though as a I feel they are trying way too hard to go for realistic graphics.
Re: Random: Super Nintendo World Japan Breaks Out Some Cute Festive Displays
Mario the Snowman
Was a jolly happy soul
With a bright red cap and snow mustache
And two eyes made out of coal
Re: Random: Valve's Gabe Newell On Game Delays: "Late Is Just For A Little While, Suck Is Forever"
@DiamondCore I already addressed that in another reply.
Re: Random: Valve's Gabe Newell On Game Delays: "Late Is Just For A Little While, Suck Is Forever"
@Poodlestargenerica Vex is a verb which means "to bring trouble, distress, or agitation to"
the extra x is just there to meet the alphanumeric length requirement for a username.
Re: Random: Valve's Gabe Newell On Game Delays: "Late Is Just For A Little While, Suck Is Forever"
@TheMenaceToSociety No worries. I hear word on the street development for Half-Life 3 will begin in a millennium.
Re: Random: Valve's Gabe Newell On Game Delays: "Late Is Just For A Little While, Suck Is Forever"
@VinylCreep Okay.
Re: Random: Valve's Gabe Newell On Game Delays: "Late Is Just For A Little While, Suck Is Forever"
@Poodlestargenerica What are even getting at? What does my username have to do with anything?
Re: Aspyr Claims The Star Wars: KOTOR 2 DLC Was Cancelled Due To A 'Third Party'
@larryisaman I'm referring to your post in response to @Arawn93 if that's okay. I feel it expresses my thoughts on the matter more clearly.
Re: Random: Valve's Gabe Newell On Game Delays: "Late Is Just For A Little While, Suck Is Forever"
@Snatcher Eh, I think a phrase a delayed game has a "possibility" of being good would be more fitting than "eventually" is all.
Re: Random: Valve's Gabe Newell On Game Delays: "Late Is Just For A Little While, Suck Is Forever"
Disagree. Delayed games have proven to be just as bad as rushed games.

Super Mario World 3

Re: Super Mario RPG Switch Leaked Online Ahead Of Next Week's Release
I don't get why people wanna be spoiled before even experiencing something for themselves. Oh well. I don't use social media anyways so im good.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Wins Nintendo GOTY At Golden Joystick Awards 2023
Personally, I don't care for game awards. Seems like whoever has the better AAA budget is declared winner.
Re: The Super Mario Bros. Movie Arrives On Netflix This December (US)
I kinda wish another studio handled it. Eye candy for sure, but very hollow.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Gets A New Update On Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Alright! FPS Increased from 1 to 2. I'm all in now!
Re: Random: Sonic & Chill Is The Ultimate Chillout Music Album For Sonic Fans
To me, this type of music will always fit Sonic better than the rock music of his modern form.

Re: Assassin's Creed Publisher Ubisoft Axes 124 Jobs
@Erigen I got burned out by Black Flag. They really milked AC hard. To the point where games became more and more bloated with stuff.
I just couldn't anymore once I played Syndicate. It was just stuff upon stuff.
Re: Surprise! Nintendo Is Officially Working On A Live-Action Legend Of Zelda Movie
The actor for Link is going to have his work cut out for him. The script for his character is 90 blank pages long.

@Mauzuri If you have to question why, then you are definitely not the target audience.
Re: Tears Of The Kingdom Continues To Prove That 'Open World Zelda' Is A Best-Selling Formula
I didn't enjoy it personally. I didn't even think BOTW was what it was hyped to be.
