Really looking forward to both those games, especially Fire Emblem. Kinda hoping Fortunes Waeve has the social and sim elements from Three Houses but keeps the character presentation from Engage, found the character designs of Three Houses to be a little dull.
Although they could be quite ambitious and have an open world type of game where you explore a map and hit enemies to start a fight. Think Shadows of Valentia but on a bigger scale, don't know if that's been done before with fire emblems style of combat.
Kinda hoping Level 5 are quite successful over the next two years. There's quite a few big releases with a new Professor Layton, Inazuma, Decapolice, Horror Mansion Story and a Snackworld Remake, with all of them coming to PC and PS5 as well that should help them do well. Then hopefully they can move onto something I've been craving for years now, Ni No Kuni 3 😉
So that's this and Borderlands 4 so far with Switch 2 specific delays, hopefully this doesn't become a trend. Although I can see it being a western dev problem more than anything.
Aren't Mario games stories abit simple and bland anyway? Atleast they are for me but fortunately I'm not playing them for the story, it's the gameplay, characters and world that entice me to play and it's why I'm still super looking forward to this film (minus the gameplay of course).
VGC will transition to Pokémon Champions as the standard platform for all competitive matches with its launch on the Nintendo Switch systems on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
So what would be the point including a pvp mode in the main games going forward?
I wonder will they be stripping the pvp section from future main games because of this new game, that way they can get more money from players who enjoy both. If that is the case then I hope they reduce the price of the main games if they are missing content.
@-wc- I see the two Pokémon versions as a way to encourage trading, something that's been a staple with pokemon since the beginning. Even now if you have no friends to trade with there's Pokémon Home so you can trade with randoms. Pokémon was always meant to be an handheld focussed game, where you can take it out with you and catch pokemon, battle and trade with friends, the two versions just add more substance to this.
People say it's down to greed and that Nintendo know people will buy both versions just because it's Pokémon, but Nintendo did it with the first Pokémon games, a time where Pokémon wasn't even an household name back then. It's just a tradition that's stuck.
It's a brilliant game but man have they ramped up the difficulty from previous games, I'm level 23 and still getting party wiped by monsters in the first area.
Is this just for first party games or all third party as well. May give Harvestella another go as I tried it last year in handheld and it looked like crap.
Going to love the reactions in the future when Nintendo goes all digital, along with Playstation and Xbox. Where will all these GKC haters, and physical master race play games then.
@Anti-Matter For someone who doesn't even own a Switch 2 you seem obsessed with these game key cards. Even when games launch on switch 1 with no game key card you say you will get the PlayStation version due to performance etc.
Surely there's a proper direct incoming, with no Pokémon games coming later this year then surely they've got some other heavy hitter to reveal. Still no dates for Splatoon Raiders or the new Fire Emblem as well.
@Vyacheslav333 Tbf I actually think it will sell WiiU figures, the brand has been dying for two generations now and will do even worse when this £1000 PC releases.
Seems to me some of the Xbox fans aren't happy with this, they know it's basically a PC and developers will just create PC versions of games without the usual console optimisation that console gamers prefer. It's the main reason console gamers prefer consoles over PC, the simple layout and the ease of use. If this is priced at £1000+ then I'm sorry but it's DOA and will be the worst selling Xbox "console" to date.
Even more so if the Steam Machine comes out first and is cheaper.
Id rather they continue with what they done with the last few games by only having around 400 pokemon with a mix of new and old. Then it's up to the player if they want to only use new pokemon, it's an option instead of being forced.
Also by including old pokemon they can make each area/route have completely different pokemon, whereas older games would have multiple routes with the same pokemon in them.
@Sylamp Yeah it doesn't make much sense, just looking at the other dual releases and it's only happened one other time with Scarlet getting 72 and Violet getting 71, any other gens the two versions have scored the same.
@Dragwhite I'd say no chance, those games got DLC that added hundreds more Pokémon so they were capable to begin with, but Nintendo needed an excuse to not put them all in one game.
So the same will happen with winds and waves, the initial roster will be between 300-400 and then there will be DLC that adds hundreds of Pokémon.
I didn't really like Animal Crossing but I loved Dragon Quest Builders so I don't know where this sits in between those two. But it's Pokémon so that alone is enough for me to take a chance.
We've had a new battle gimmick for the last four gens (mega, z-moves, dynamax and terastalize), so I'm super interested to see what they go with for these new games.
The game looks really good, not too sure on the starters though.
Also quite disappointing it's coming in 2027, seems like GTA even has Pokémon running 😅. Seriously Nintendo need to now show what big games theyve got for the rest of this year.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Pokémon Champions
The game has a 63 metacritic which is surely the worst pokemon game of all time.

Re: Level-5 Will Finally Share News On Its Upcoming Titles In 'Vision 2026' Showcase
Delays galore incoming, nothing for 2026.
They will promise three games launching in 2027, then only one or two will stick the landing.
Re: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie: Is There A Post-Credits Scene?
I think the first scene is a hint there's going to be a star fox game very soon, just as the rumours are saying.

Re: UK Charts: Mario Wonder Storms Into The Top Ten Following Switch 2 Release
Why is PC listed for Resident Evil Requiem but nothing else, I thought these charts were physical only hence why PC isn't included in the split.
Re: Rumour: Pokémon GO May Soon Render Auto Catchers Obsolete
Great more monetization on the way.
Re: PS5 Gets An Insane Price Increase – Will Nintendo Follow Suit?
And this is why Im glad i always buy my Playstation and Nintendo consoles day one.
Re: Pokémon Champions Plans To Keep The Stadium Lights On For A Very Long Time
I probably won't see the day we get 10000 Pokémon but imagine the game at the time with all of them in 😂.
Re: Nintendo To Change Pricing For Digital & Physical Switch 2 Exclusives, Starting With Yoshi
This is Nintendo's way of getting more people to buy digital so that the Switch 3 can be a digital only console.
Re: Hands On: Pokémon Champions Promises Top-Tier Battling, But At What Cost?
@Fighting_Game_Loser According to Pokémon it's going to be the main pvp platform going forward.

Re: Nintendo Misses Out On Top 10 In Metacritic's 16th Annual Game Publisher Rankings
@Arawn93 Yeah they should also publish a ranking system with just each publishers top 3 scoring games.
Re: Nintendo Misses Out On Top 10 In Metacritic's 16th Annual Game Publisher Rankings
Seeing Gamirror told me all I need to know about this ranking system, basically to ignore it.
Re: ICYMI: Pokémon Champions Is Getting A Free Update For Switch 2
Quite looking forward to this, not usually a pvp Pokémon player but there's enough here to persuade me to give it a go.
What's the chances of future Pokémon games having no pvp modes in game because of this.
Re: "New Players Won't Feel Alone" - Square Enix Partners With Google For AI-Powered Dragon Quest Companion

@Nep-Nep-Freak Same here, especially Re Zero, Overlord, Mushoku Tensei, Shield Hero, Oshi no Ko and KonoSuba.
I hope this oasis company keep well away from the anime side of things.

@Vyacheslav333 The Switch 1 had a 720p screen so it would be impossible to get docked output of 1080p.

Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Pokopia's Physical Troubles Continue As It Slips From The Podium
Tbf even if it didn't have supply issues for physical I doubt it would topple Resident Evil Requiem.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (14th March)
On PS5 i will be playing Monster Hunter Stories 3, Fatal Frame 2 and Marathon
On Switch 2 it's more Pokopia and Mario Galaxy 2
On Steam Deck I will be continuing with Bullet Girls Phantasia

Re: Yoshi And The Mysterious Book Lands Switch 2 Release Date
Just need updates on Splatoon Raiders and Fire Emblem now, do Nintendo even have anything for a Direct I wonder.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (7th March)
On PS5 i will be playing Echoes of the End, Okami HD, Inazuma Eleven and jump into some Marathon in between.
On Switch 2 I will be mainly focussing on Pokopia, but I also want to finish Resident Evil Requiem and Mario Tennis Fever this weekend.
Re: Xbox Is Bringing Another Game To Switch 2 Later This Month
@h3s That's not up to Xbox anymore since they closed the studio, which then Krafton acquired them and the Hi Fi Rush IP.

How is Pokémon Y higher rated than X, it's pretty much the exact same game.
Re: Bandai Namco Teases "New RPG" Reveal, Taking Place This Week
That was giving me SAO vibes tbh.

Re: UK Charts: Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 Sales Comparable To Cyberpunk 2077
Isn't this just phycial sales? If so then why is PC included for Resident Evil only, I thought physical PC games weren't a thing anymore.

We've had a new battle gimmick for the last four gens (mega, z-moves, dynamax and terastalize), so I'm super interested to see what they go with for these new games.
Re: Quiz: Can You Name That Pokémon?
Damn Tapu Lele and Voltorb caught me out, oh well I'm happy with 23/25.
Re: Poll: So, Which Starter Will You Choose In Pokémon Winds & Waves?
I usually base my choice on what the final evolution is, so it's a bit early for me to decide although right now I'm leaning towards Gecqua.
Re: Pokémon Winds & Waves Announced For Switch 2, Launching Next Year
The game looks really good, not too sure on the starters though.

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite 3DS Model?
The new 2DS XL Pokeball edition is my favourite and I still have it in pristine condition.
Infact this article has persuaded me to boot it up this weekend, might play some Professor Layton or SMT 4.
Re: Rumour: Sony Apparently Has Gran Turismo Running On Switch 2, Just Don't Expect To See It
This is definitely just for research/testing for their own handheld.
Re: Review: Resident Evil Requiem (Switch 2) - Action And Horror Combine In A Series Highlight
Even though I have a PS5 as well I'm going to go for the Switch 2 version, really want to see what this console can do when pushed to it's limits.
Re: UK Charts: Mario Tennis Fever Gets Lobbed By Old Favourites
Nice to see ReAnimal still doing very well.
Re: Poll: Will You Be Getting Pokémon FireRed Or LeafGreen On Switch?
£17 for a 22 year old simple gameboy advance port, il pass.
Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 8 Pokémon?
Dragapult all the way! What's not to love it's Dragon and Ghost.
