I usually base my choice on what the final evolution is, so it's a bit early for me to decide although right now I'm leaning towards Gecqua.

The game looks really good, not too sure on the starters though.

Also quite disappointing it's coming in 2027, seems like GTA even has Pokémon running 😅. Seriously Nintendo need to now show what big games theyve got for the rest of this year.

The new 2DS XL Pokeball edition is my favourite and I still have it in pristine condition.

Infact this article has persuaded me to boot it up this weekend, might play some Professor Layton or SMT 4.

Even though I have a PS5 as well I'm going to go for the Switch 2 version, really want to see what this console can do when pushed to it's limits.

This one's a tough one, it's between Florges, Sylveon and Goodra. I think I'm going to go with Sylveon though as its been my first go to eeveelution since.

My first Pokémon game was fire red, I remember seeing the original games on my mates game boy as a kid, and thinking I don't want to be playing games in black and white 😅. Then I got hooked on the TV show and cards which finally persuaded me to get the game boy advance and I've been hooked on the series since, even as a 34 year old I still look forward to every new Pokémon game.

Seems to me the best and cheapest time to buy a console is at launch.

@Nf157 Thinking about it now there's 4 as I forgot the new eeveelutions, those being Celebi, Lugia, Umbreon and Ampharos.

In terms of new introduced Pokémon I'd say Gen 2 is the worst for me. There's just 3 that I like, with my vote going for Celebi.

Has to be Gengar for me, with Dragonite coming in second.

If it wasn't for Atlus I probably wouldn't bother with any Sega made games, well unless they brought back Valkyria Chronicles which I highly doubt they will.

This game being a GKC means I'm giving it a 10/10, every GKC release is a 10/10 for me and I hope Nintendo continues with GKC releases....

The game isn't worth the price, especially with the lack of single player content. So I will be renting my copy as we all know the game will never go for cheap.

Although I'm playing it on PS5 i voted for 9/10 for both above polls. Excellent game and a beautiful remake, hopefully DQ9 is next.

Been playing DQ7 on PS5 and it's been really good so far, hopefully there's more remakes like this to come. Would like DQ9 to get the Remake treatment next.

I was right to skip this one, the majority of games are PS5 ports and games already announced and already had trailers in previous directs. The only one I was surprised by was Kyoto Xanadu yet the side scrolling elements have me concerned.

@jojobar The game had 15 million players play in January so it's very much still alive.

Not an American football fan but I'm interested to see what this advert is, hopefully it's posted on this site at some point. Would be a perfect stage to reveal the next gen game, although it would be hilarious if it's just Jigglypuff singing it's lullaby.

I want to see more Switch 2 exclusives, either timed or full. Professor Layton is definitely one I'm looking forward to the most in that aspect. I'm also hoping to see Decapolice make a reappearance and a Chrono Trigger Remake (wishful thinking).

Personally I'm not interested in seeing more PS4/PS5 ports, as if it's a game I like then it's guaranteed I've already played it on those consoles already.

Nah this is just going to be a Xc2 Switch 2 enhanced version.

Fire Emblem is the big game for me this year, hopefully Splatoon Raiders and the next gen Pokémon game (Wind and Waves) get a 2026 release as well.

Let's hope Square weren't expecting similar numbers to the original PS4 release (700k week 1), we know how they love to set unrealistic targets. I think I might get the game again for Switch 2, same with ReBirth for a recap before the third part comes out.

Also for anyone concerned how ReBirth will run on the Switch 2, the game runs fine on the Steam Deck (deck verified) so should have no problems on the Switch 2.

The content thats got censored made the game hilarious for me, so with that missing it won't be as good in my opinion.

Tbh as a PS5 owner as well I think these partner directs going forward are most likely not going to be as exciting, mainly because the Switch 2 will be getting a lot more ports of games already on (or announced for) PS5 because of its upgraded power. I used to enjoy the days of third parties making games just for the Switch (at the time) like Monster Hunter Stories, DQ Monsters, Harvestella, SMT, Marvel Ultimate Alliance etc, but I think going forward there's going to be way less third party exclusives all round.

I still have faith a remaster of this and Pandoras Tower are on the way, nearly every nostalgic game are getting remasters and remakes these days.

If there is a direct them I'm hoping to see some more of the new Fire Emblem and Splatoon Raiders, those are my two most anticipated games right now. Throw in Pokémon gen 10 teaser and a look at the new Professor Layton and it becomes a dream direct for me.

Also to those who say make Pokémon look like this, I'd say if Pokémon had these type of visuals then it just wouldn't be Pokémon anymore for me. Why change the art style that captured billions of fans.

This is what they can do with a decent budget and no time restraints.

@SurprisedRobinChu I believe they mean it outsold the PS4 during the same release time frame, so for the Switch 2 after 7 months it sold 35% more than what the PS4 did after 7 months on the market.

Gaming is on a downhill slope in my eyes, with tariffs, AI, cost of components, studios closures and lay offs, price increases and physical dying out it's not looking good.

Look what's happened to Xbox, console sales have tanked, gamepass numbers have stalled, releasing first party games on their competitors consoles, multiple price increases in one year, multiple studio closures and game cancellations. Sony have had issues as well albeit for different reasons (chasing live service).

Won't be long before Nintendo start chasing other revenue streams such as PC releases and console live servic games, Pokémon Champions is just the start.

Had this for Christmas, played it once (for 3 hours) and haven't felt compelled to go back to it since. I will get back to it at some point but nothing during those first three hours hooked me in and made me want to continue with it.

Hopefully Donkey Kong wins game of the year over Expedition 33 (so overrated).
