@Anti-Matter Help me understand something, you don't like violence in video games right? But you love boxing? A sport where you beat up your opponent and try to knock them out causing bruising, broken bones and blood in the process, so one of the most violent official sports.
Talking about games to come, ESRB just rated a game called Enchanted Wonderland by Konami. Could this be a return of the Enchanted Folk Series (Magicians Quest for Americans).
Put over 90 hours into the PS5 version and still haven't noticed any bad performance issues, infact it's been one of the best Monster Hunter games I've played. Been streaming it on the Portal whilst the misses plays on the PS5 so we can play together, but if they bring it to Switch 2 with cross play then I will buy again.
@Sindayl Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant between Playstation and Xbox. I agree Playstation were very aggressive back during the PlayStation 1 with third party exclusives although I kinda don't blame them as they didn't have any first party studios of their own apart from the guys behind Gran Turismo, so that was their option to make a name for themselves.
@Sindayl Tbf Xbox has been just as bad with third party exclusives, in fact they've had more then playstation when you factor in smaller games. I'd go as far as Xbox started the timed exclusive war back in the day when they had GTA 4 DLC, Tomb Raider, Dead Rising, PUBG, Titanfall etc. Playstation retaliated in a big way mainly with Japanese exclusives which basically made them the JRPG machine. Id say Xbox are solely to blame for their downfall, trying to out spend the competition backfired majorly.
@Yoshi3 I agree, right now the best combo for a console gamer would be a Switch 2 and PS5 as you're covered for pretty much every game. There's no reason for hardcore gamers to own all three anymore.
Nintendo will never put it's exclusives on any other platform as they aren't stupid and they still value their fans loyalty over chasing a few more sales.
Also Microsoft are only against exclusives now because their console is dying, they have lost their brand strength and gamepass growth has stalled. That's why they are bringing their games to Playstation and Nintendo.
PlayStation still have a big brand image and loyal fan base so they are safe, they will also be getting a influx of Xbox players jump ship to them. As long as they keep their big first party single player games console exclusive they will fine.
Level 5 have been working hard to get back to their old selves (albeit with multiple delays) yet going down the AI route will just set them back again with the backlash that's to come. And tbh, I have no sympathy for those that go under because of AI use.
Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma - 10
Hundred Line Last Defence Academy - 10
Donkey Kong Bananza - 9
Mario Kart World - 8
Pokémon Legends Z-A - 8
Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment - 8
Star Wars Outlaws - 8
Mario Galaxy 1/2 - 8
Some of these games were already scored without me doing anything, what kind of wizardry is this?
Already completed the game on PS5 but I'm definitely going to play it again on the Switch 2, that's just how good I think the game is and hopefully ReBirth runs just as well.
So this will only benefit smaller games, this won't eradicate GKC altogether especially from the bigger games that need a lot of space. Surely it would make more sense just to lower the costs of these cartridges all round.
@dskatter Same as you once I played one I got hooked but my order is messed up because I started with Trails of Cold Steel 1&2, then played Trails Through Daybreak 1&2 and then Trails in the Sky Remake. There are some references you won't understand but it makes you want to play the rest of the series even more and is especially satisfying once you finally find out what a reference meant from the other games.
They have also mentioned remaking the Crossbell arc next so you may want to hold off on those for now.
Let's face or this is not something to worry about, first of all the PS5 had a steep sale over black friday which resulted in an influx of sales. Secondly the big Nintendo game for the Holiday season is a niche game which never brings in big sales, and is also on the previous gen system. Nintendo won't start shifting huge numbers in the west until the big hitters start releasing and they are also Switch 2 exclusive.
In terms of GKC that would have have very little to no impact on actual sales, it's a very overblown issue that the minority on the Internet will eventually get over once they realise it's worse everywhere else (PS, Xbox, PC). For the pricing of games and the hardware itself then again it's pretty much in line with other game consoles and with the current money issues many countries are facing, coupled with the RAM shortages I think it's current price is perfectly fine, don't forget the current Xbox and Playstation consoles have gone up on price since launch, increased the price of accessories and subscriptions, and even lowered the amount of internal storage to save on costs. Nintendo aren't being greedy, they are being realistic within the current climate.
@HammerGalladeBro That's because GKC are physical. You have a game case, you have to insert the game into the system and you can re sell your game if you want to, pretty much the same with any other physical game.
@Nep-Nep-Freak The next Playstation and Xbox Consoles will be digital only so atleast with Nintendo they offer a better alternative. But yeah the future of gaming is going to be all digital so it's either people get used to it now or just quit gaming as its not going to change. The only issue I have with Nintendo going all digital is that their games rarely go on sale and when they do it's not much of a discount.
2026 is the year of the GKC 😂, looking forward to Fire Emblem, Monster Hunter Stories 3, Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined and Trails Beyond the Horizon the most.
For a game that's meant to be a break out hit and won the most ever game of the year awards and meant to have "made turn based popular again" I'd expect it to have sold more than 5 million copies, although to me Baldurs Gate 3 was a bigger hit commercially and done more for the turn based popularity.
@SilverM You don't even unlock the desert track, there is no track for that area you just unlock a jukebox to play any other of the games music whenever you're on the bike. The desert has an ambient sound as intended, so it's non existent track is not "pay walled".
Well I wouldn't say it's the worst game (if you can even call it a game) by content it's just getting ridiculed because it should be free. If Sony can make Astro Playroom free then there's absolutely no reason this game shouldn't be free as well.
For me personally there's way worse games out there that deserve that award, like Minds Eye and Neptunia Riders vs Dogoos (man that game was bad).
@The_Nintendo_Expat @jojobar That's the thing though I've only got a PS5 and Switch 2 and even the original isn't on those systems.
I can play Arc the Lad Twilight of the Spirits on PS5 via Premium though, I wouldn't mind if they added Chrono Trigger to Premium then I would play it.
Since it's a game I never played I would love to see it get remade, same goes for a lot of other old jrpgs, especially if they are on the level of the Trails in the Sky Remake.
@Yoshi3 I see your point, for example if they were to make the next Fire Emblem open world it wouldn't feel right. I just feel some developers are now at a point where they lack creativity yet they have more powerful hardware to play with. So the only way they think they can innovate is make it open world.
@MoldyPasta Me too, especially when they are done right. Some of the best games I've ever played have been open world games like Xenoblade Chronicles 2/3, Horizon Zero Dawn, BoTW, Dragon Quest 11s, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
@Jumwa Even with the added rookie mode Dread is still a hard game, you still have to learn boss patterns and you definitely will still die multiple times against bosses.
This is just the norm for Playstation and Xbox players, and the more modern Nintendo's consoles become the more people will need to get used to these types of file sizes and GKC releases. Surely Nintendo can't keep using these expensive cartridges for future consoles, at some point they will either go full on digital only or back to disks but scrap the handheld design.

@Anti-Matter You don't even own a Switch 2.....
But good news the Switch 1 version (a console you have) isn't a game key card.

Re: Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Logo Revealed, Expect "Various Announcements"
No way 12 is coming any time soon, so for now I'd settle for Builders 3, Heroes 3 or just bring over 10 offline.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battle Season 5 "Coming Soon", Includes Another Mega Stone Reward
How is it on season 5 less than 3 months after release, wtf lol.

Tbh this game needed to release on all platforms, that way it would have gotten more attention, attention that it fully deserves.

Can't wait to get started on Metroid Prime 4 and Kirby Air Riders tonight.

@StarCollector Star Wars Outlaws and Animal Well are great games to start with, more so Star Wars as it shows what the Switch 2 is capable of.

So actual adult portrayed characters are getting censored, in a 17+ rated game and the reason is to keep it family friendly 😂.

My vote is definitely going towards Donkey Kong.
