Re: "Go Tell Nintendo" - Ex-Blizzard President Responds After Xbox Calls Exclusives "Antiquated"

UltimateOtaku91

This is just Microsoft coming out with excuses yet again, we all know that their plan buying ABK and Bethesda was to take make exclusives to take away players from playstation and get gamepass up to 100 million subscribers. That ended up being a catastrophic failure and as a result ended with studio closures, game cancellations, thousands of lay offs, multiple price increases and bringing their games to the competition.

They are literally dead and it's embarrassing, to have Halo, Gears of War and Forza on Playstation consoles just sums how far they have fallen. I have no sympathy either, try to monopolise the western market, trying to "out spend" Sony out of business (leaked emails) and even the gall to try and buy Nintendo. Sorry Microsoft but you reap what you sow.

Re: Xbox Reiterates Its Support For Switch 2

I wouldn't trust what ever Phil says, the amount of times he's gone back on his words is unreal. The guy has run Xbox into the ground and I'm just glad I'm a Sony/Nintendo player as I'd be very disappointed and concerned if i were an Xbox only guy.

In terms of games from them that I would play on my PS5/Switch 2 I'd gladly take the new State of Decay and Fable when they release.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sold 5.8 Million Copies Globally In Its First Week

People do understand Gamefreak have to rush these games out to feed the Pokémon TCG and TV shows with content. It's no coincidence the latest game is based on Mega Evolutions, the latest card set is Mega Evolution, and the next Anime episodes are based on Mega Evolutions. Pokémon is a multi media franchise that has to keep up with each other.

It's a shame though really as if the games could break away from that chain and actually have a bigger budget and longer development time then these games could be something special.

Re: Opinion: Pokémon Legends Z-A Is The Creepiest Entry Yet, Not In A Good Way

UltimateOtaku91

@topsekret I believe they got rid of Ash but the new season is still based off the latest games (Violet/Scarlet) as its set in Paldea and includes the new Pokémon and areas from game.

I see no reason why Gamefreak can't increase in size and continue to bring out the usual Pokémon games at their current pace and development cost but also have a team making an ambitious attempt at a true AAA experience with better visuals, no performance issues, voice acting etc. They have a game coming out called Beast of Reincarnation which looks incredible visually, you wouldn't think it's from the guys that make Pokémon when first watching it. Just shows what they are capable of if given the freedom and time.

@topsekret Even with the Legends games there will be multiple card sets based off the game, Legends Arceus contributed towards two sets (Astral Radiance and Brilliant Stars). Same with Z-A, it's no coincidence a game about Mega Evolution comes out and the latest sets are also focussed on Mega Evolutions, it was timed perfectly and the game was developed with this strict deadline, and in early 2026 we will see a few sets based off Legends Z-A with the new Characters and Mega Evolutions, and there will be on based on the games DLC. To me this pretty much confirms gen 10 is coming next year as there's only so long this game will carry the TCG.

The only way things would change so that the games can get better with more budget and development times is if the TCG expansions had bigger gaps in between sets, but with the money they bring in it just won't happen.

@topsekret @Quinntendo I totally agree that with the amount these games bring in the budgets should be higher and development time longer but some reason they are forced to rush out games to keep up with the pace of the Pokémon cards. The Pokémon card sets usually rely on the games for their designs and ideas, even when the games have dlc you can guarantee there will be a couple of sets based off it.

That's the only thing that would make sense to why they rush out "cheap" games. But realistically they should be spending those billions into making these games the best they possibly can to attract more people, atleast there should be voice acting there's no excuse for that to be excluded.

The game has both positive and negative points but it is no where near an awful game at all like some like to make out. It even has a metacritic rating of 80 which is quite good for a Pokémon game. But we all know out of all Nintendo's games Pokémon is the one that attracts the most "haters", they expect too much from a low budget game and expect AAA level visuals.

The recent budgets for these games were leaked which il list below

Sword/Shield 16 million
Scarlet/Violet 22 million
Legends ZA 13 million
Gen 10, 20 million

Compare that to other AAA and some AA games, it's way way lower. So I wouldn't even say Pokémon is a AAA game at all and for what it achieves (sales wise) for its budget is quite astonishing.

Re: Switch 2 Reportedly Sold 2.4 Million Units In First Three Months On The Market (US)

UltimateOtaku91

It's been a great first 4 months so far, played some great titles like MKW, Donkey Kong Bananza, Bravely Default HD, Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma and Star Wars Outlaws. Then I've got Pokémon next week, Hyrule Warriors, Inazuma Eleven and Kirby Air Riders in November and Metroid in December. Great first 6 months on the market in my opinion and should continue to sell very well.

Re: Opinion: Sonic Racing Crossworlds > Mario Kart World, And It's Not Even Close For Me

UltimateOtaku91

Haven't played Crossworlds yet but I have played MKW since day one and I can say it's a great game but gets stale fast. The open world design was the highlight but it all feels pointless, do all those challenges for what? Badges no one cares about or notices in races, theres also no map or checklist making it a chore to explore and constantly come across things you've already done.

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Director Highlights The Speed Problem With Switch 2 Game Cards

UltimateOtaku91

I don't mind game key cards, atleast I can re sell the game once I'm done with it. As long as more and more third party games make it over then I don't get the issue. People worried they can't play their Switch 2 games in 20-30 years time yet I can still download and play my PSP and Wii games after 20 years. Most gamers get a console and play the games they want to straight away or atleast within that gen, not many people are going to keep their old consoles to play them 30 years later. Nintendo know this as they have the stats, no amount of complaining is going to change anything as those complaining are the minority.
