Those are some impressive sales and don't forget most people will wait until they get a Switch 2 to play the better version. Also christmas is around the corner so a lot will be waiting to get it as a present for their kids etc, whereas Arceus launched after Christmas with no future console in sight so people had less reason to wait.
@topsekret Yeah there's no excuse for big AAA developers not to support physical, although this one may get one in the future like with the Oblivion Remaster.
@topsekret I believe they got rid of Ash but the new season is still based off the latest games (Violet/Scarlet) as its set in Paldea and includes the new Pokémon and areas from game.
I see no reason why Gamefreak can't increase in size and continue to bring out the usual Pokémon games at their current pace and development cost but also have a team making an ambitious attempt at a true AAA experience with better visuals, no performance issues, voice acting etc. They have a game coming out called Beast of Reincarnation which looks incredible visually, you wouldn't think it's from the guys that make Pokémon when first watching it. Just shows what they are capable of if given the freedom and time.
@topsekret Even with the Legends games there will be multiple card sets based off the game, Legends Arceus contributed towards two sets (Astral Radiance and Brilliant Stars). Same with Z-A, it's no coincidence a game about Mega Evolution comes out and the latest sets are also focussed on Mega Evolutions, it was timed perfectly and the game was developed with this strict deadline, and in early 2026 we will see a few sets based off Legends Z-A with the new Characters and Mega Evolutions, and there will be on based on the games DLC. To me this pretty much confirms gen 10 is coming next year as there's only so long this game will carry the TCG.
The only way things would change so that the games can get better with more budget and development times is if the TCG expansions had bigger gaps in between sets, but with the money they bring in it just won't happen.
@topsekret @Quinntendo I totally agree that with the amount these games bring in the budgets should be higher and development time longer but some reason they are forced to rush out games to keep up with the pace of the Pokémon cards. The Pokémon card sets usually rely on the games for their designs and ideas, even when the games have dlc you can guarantee there will be a couple of sets based off it.
That's the only thing that would make sense to why they rush out "cheap" games. But realistically they should be spending those billions into making these games the best they possibly can to attract more people, atleast there should be voice acting there's no excuse for that to be excluded.
The game has both positive and negative points but it is no where near an awful game at all like some like to make out. It even has a metacritic rating of 80 which is quite good for a Pokémon game. But we all know out of all Nintendo's games Pokémon is the one that attracts the most "haters", they expect too much from a low budget game and expect AAA level visuals.
The recent budgets for these games were leaked which il list below
Sword/Shield 16 million Scarlet/Violet 22 million Legends ZA 13 million Gen 10, 20 million
Compare that to other AAA and some AA games, it's way way lower. So I wouldn't even say Pokémon is a AAA game at all and for what it achieves (sales wise) for its budget is quite astonishing.
I've put around 12 hours into so far and I'm quite enjoying it more than I thought I would. So for me it's an 8/10 for now, but could be higher in a week or two depending on how the rest of the game goes.
@Dee123 Exactly, also doesn't include those bought using the 2 for £84 game vouchers on the eshop.
Also going to be quite a lot of parents buying this for Christmas and people waiting until the DLC comes out first. Whereas Arceus released after Christmas and didn't have any DLC.
@N00BiSH Yeah these people do realise it has a 91 metacritic rating with a 9.1 user rating score, and a 100 player rating on open critic. It's a very strong contender for game of the year, this is exactly what the Switch 2 needed in it's launch year.
@Anti-Matter Mate just give it up, those sales figures are nothing to be happy about and this is coming from a Playstation fan as well. You're better off cheerleading in the US and UK charts.
@AverageGamer Little Nightmares 3 can be played solo, I played it single player and it wasn't a bad experience in my opinion. The other character uses their action skill by a press of a button and they follow you and do any 2 player interactions on their own.
I wouldn't expect any limited edition consoles until atleast a year on the market. They want people to double dip on the consoles and they know there's more chance of that happening the longer they leave it.
One of the best AC games in my opinion so I will definitely double dip with the Switch 2 version, hopefully it runs and looks as good as Star wars Outlaws did on Switch 2.
It's been a great first 4 months so far, played some great titles like MKW, Donkey Kong Bananza, Bravely Default HD, Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma and Star Wars Outlaws. Then I've got Pokémon next week, Hyrule Warriors, Inazuma Eleven and Kirby Air Riders in November and Metroid in December. Great first 6 months on the market in my opinion and should continue to sell very well.
@MatoFilipovic You can't expect the Switch 2 to perform as good as the PS5 or PC versions, if you're going to buy these games on steam anyway then you're better of reading pushsquares reviews for these games as they are closer to PC performance.
Haven't played Crossworlds yet but I have played MKW since day one and I can say it's a great game but gets stale fast. The open world design was the highlight but it all feels pointless, do all those challenges for what? Badges no one cares about or notices in races, theres also no map or checklist making it a chore to explore and constantly come across things you've already done.
@Lofoten Tbf Microsoft and Asus just released the Xbox Asus Rog All X for $1000 dollars and it's not as powerful as the PS5 either. For what the Switch 2 offers at its price and with real exclusives is great value and well worth it.
The Game Key Card discussion ruining most articles now is getting boring, either accept it and move on, or just not buy these games and move on. I wonder if the complaints will stop if all these game key card games would release digital only instead, because that's the alternative the devs will choose in the end.
I don't mind game key cards, atleast I can re sell the game once I'm done with it. As long as more and more third party games make it over then I don't get the issue. People worried they can't play their Switch 2 games in 20-30 years time yet I can still download and play my PSP and Wii games after 20 years. Most gamers get a console and play the games they want to straight away or atleast within that gen, not many people are going to keep their old consoles to play them 30 years later. Nintendo know this as they have the stats, no amount of complaining is going to change anything as those complaining are the minority.
Knew it! The fact it was a no show at any of this year's directs that pretty much indicated it weren't coming this year. But this is Level 5 so it was expected to get a delay, what game hasn't from them.
@Anti-Matter You won't buy Switch 2 versions anyway because you don't even have a Switch 2, also pretty sure you don't own a PS5..... Just baffling comments.
@Exerion76 Depends on if the developers still develop their games with the Switch 2 in mind, especially Japanese games which they will 100% want their games on teh Switch 2, doesn't matter what the PS6 can do if the developers want their game on the Switch 2. It will be a Series S situation all over again but this time the Switch 2 will hold that gen back. A good thing for Nintendo players but bad for those wanting high end gaming.
@Switching I wouldn't go that far, there's still going to be a lot of games skipping the Switch 2 like Call of Duty, GTA and of course Playstation and Xbox made games. I would say in my opinion for a console player having Switch 2 and PS5 is the dream combo, you will be set for a very long time.
Tbf the Switch 1 was left behind day one, most new releases didn't make it to the console, never mind one of the biggest third party releases of the year and on day one. The Switch 2 is in a much better position and has the power to handle most previously released title so far on the PS4 and PS5 with some comprises, plus developers/publishers know the Switch 2 will sell gangbusters and will want their game available to all those potential buyers.
These deserve the Remake treatment even if it's the Chibi style like with the Diamond and Pearl Remakes. But if they were coming next year surely they would have been announced by now? With Champions, Pokopia and surely the next gen releasing next year I can't see them releasing a 4th game.
Also that was the gen Axew, Litwick, Vanilite and Zorua were introduced, 4 of my favourite Pokémon (and evolution lines) so would love to dive in again.
This could be huge if it's done correctly, the Animal Crossing fan base will all over this. Personally I will give it a go as I do with all Pokémon games, but I'm just hoping it can hold my attention more than Animal Crossing did.
Just Trails in the Sky for me (PS5) and I can't wait, hopefully it launches at midnight as I may stay up late to play the first hour then go to work half dead 😅, worth it.

Nope.
I don't think I will pick this Bluey game.

@topsekret Yeah there's no excuse for big AAA developers not to support physical, although this one may get one in the future like with the Oblivion Remaster.
Re: Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition Brings The Apocalypse To Switch 2 In 2026
So there's an uproar when it comes to GKC but not when a game is digital only, because this game is digital only.
Re: Tales Of Xillia 2 Remastered On The Way, With More To Come
There was one on the vita that I never got round to playing, hopefully that gets the remaster treatment at some point.

Looking at Outright Games last 10 games and their metacritic ratings I can see why they don't get much coverage.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Patent Supposedly Points To Return Of DS Games
Why not allow us to use the Nintendo App on our mobiles which then turns our mobile phones into the bottom screen for DS games.

Absolutely useless cutscene comparison, where's the gameplay comparison video?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (18th October)
On PS5 i will be continuing with the excellent Trails in the Sky, Silent Hill F and Bye Sweet Carole. Hoping to get all three done this weekend.
On Switch 2 I will be playing Pokémon Legends Z-A and Mario Galaxy.

Re: The ROG Xbox Ally X Receives Glowing Reviews, But It's Still Pretty Pricey
Definitely not worth $1000, plus has no real exclusives like the Switch 2 has.
For that price you can buy a Switch 2 and a Playstation 5 which would be money better spent.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Fatal Fury Special (SNES)
That Japanese one is miles better, you want your game to stand out on the shelves? that's how it's done.

Wish there was a option for increased job points, I like the game but man it's way to grindy.

Great to see Yotei and Digimon doing well, can't wait to start both of them at the end of the month.

I buy around 30+ newly released games per year across Playstation and Nintendo, I've bought 8 this past month alone.

Great games but factoring in the price and controls I would give it a 8/10.

So the worst Fire Emblem game of all time.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle And The Millionaires' Conspiracy (Switch)
I prefer box arts with just one big image so my vote goes to the Japan version.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th September)
