Re: Switch 2 Sales In The US Are Outpacing The Original Console By 75%

UltimateOtaku91

This is great news, really enjoyed mine but it took a month for me to really appreciate the purchase, Nothing on launch felt like an upgrade over the Switch but then Donkey Kong came along. Can't wait for the next Switch 2 only exclusives and push this console to its best, already anticipating the next main Zelda, Xenoblade and Fire Emblem games.

Re: Mailbox: Game-Key Cards, Slacker Sakurai, Shapes & Beats - Nintendo Life Letters

UltimateOtaku91

If game key cards are the code in a box replacement then I'm thankful for them. Now I can actually re sell the game once I'm done with it and put the money towards my next purchase.

Also let's face it without the game key cards the options could very well be worse, either code in a box or the game is digital only like the upcoming Shuten Order and Varlet to which no one seems to have a problem with 🙄.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Playable Switch 2 Demo Appearing At Upcoming Events

@PinderSchloss I agree with you, they can add new Pokémon, variants and change the battle style but it's still lacking a soul (if that makes sense).

You don't get attached to any of the characters, there's no emotion from them and the lack of voice acting in a game series that brought in billions is really poor, games like Yo Kai Watch, Digimon and Ni No Kuni all have voice acting and cutscenes that give life to the game.

They honestly need to give the IP to another studio to help make the games, gives Gamefreak more time to work on one title whilst another studio like Monolith Soft work on another.

Re: Feature: What We Expect From Nintendo For Super Mario Bros.' 40th Anniversary

@B_Lindz Yeah I admit it's strange not to see a release date for Metroid Prime 4 yet, even Hyrule Warriors which has been shown off twice now still has a vague "winter" release. Then there's Splatoon Raiders, Kirby Air Riders and Professor Layton that haven't had any new info or even gameplay shown yet. I would like to think theres a proper direct coming soon, or even around the time of the Tokyo Game Show.

Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey

UltimateOtaku91

Does any body who has a problem with the game key cards also own a PS5 or Xbox Series? If so then what's the difference to buying physical on those platforms still having to downlaod huge amounts of data before you can start the game vs game key cards.

To me this seems to be primarily a hardcore Nintendo gamer issue, people who haven't had to experience this type of modern gaming that the other platforms have been experiencing for years. Nintendo have been very traditional and physical enthusiasts compared to Playstation and Xbox during the previous gens but those times seem to be changing.

Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey

UltimateOtaku91

As someone buys a game, completes it and then sells it to fund my next game, I couldn't care less if game key cards exist or not and reflected that in the survey.

But I can fully understand why others are against it, hopefully Nintendo takes these surveys seriously and end up with more happy customers in the long run.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (2nd August)

UltimateOtaku91

On PS5 i will be playing YS The Oath in Felghana and the Tales of Arise DLC

On Switch 2 I will be continuing with the amazing Donkey Kong Bananza currently on the Tempest Layer and don't want it to end although I have a feeling I don't have much left. I will also be starting either Mary Skelter Nightmares or Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid, depends what mood I'm in.

Also just completed The Adventures of Elliott demo and it was great, reminds me of classic Zelda and YS games. Definitely a day one buy for me.

Re: Nintendo Showcases Every Partner Direct Switch 2 Game In New Infographic

UltimateOtaku91

Physical media is dying, it's nonexistent on PC, the next Xbox likely won't support physical and Playstation won't be far behind as 95% of game sales are digital for them already. Nintendo will eventually be the same, I wouldn't be surprised if we see an digital only Switch 2 launch in a few years time. Selling digital games cheaper than the physical version is them trying to convince you to go digital, key cards are already making you go digital just in a round about way.

There's nothing anyone can do to stop this trajectory, best get used it as there's no where to turn to as every other platform is even more digital focussed, either stop complaining or just give up playing games altogether when the time comes.

Re: Switch 2 Has Sold "More Than 6 Million" Units, And Almost As Many Copies Of Mario Kart World

UltimateOtaku91

Also how are people moaning about lack of exclusives? The console is barely 2 months old.....

The console looks too similar to Switch 1? How would you make an handheld console look so different from each other? All these handhelds (pc handhelds) look 95% the same.

Don't like the idea of digital games? Then where you going to go? Playstation and Xbox focus way more on digital, there's a lot more games that are digital only on their platforms. PC? Everything is digital full stop.

£80 games? Yeah this is going to be the industry standard across all platforms, Playstation and Xbox will be doing the same very soon and so will the bigger publishers. Definitely by the start of their next gen consoles, only difference is Nintendo will still be offering physical copies with digital being cheaper but the rest will be forcing you to pay that price for digital only whilst they abandon physical games.

Re: Switch 2 Has Sold "More Than 6 Million" Units, And Almost As Many Copies Of Mario Kart World

UltimateOtaku91

Am I the only one not bothered by these game key cards? As long as I can play the game I've bought then that's all that matters to me. This is much better than the code in a box we were getting with the Switch 1, this time i can actually still sell the games once I'm done with them which is going to save me hundreds. I understand for those who want to collect games and play them many years after the store has closed down then it's a problem, but for those that just buy games and play them once I don't see this as a problem at all.

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, 31st July 2025

UltimateOtaku91

I think I may skip this one live and watch the trailers seperately. Not really interested in third party games that are already on PS5 as that's where I will be playing them or have already played them. The Switch 2 for me is an exclusives machine, so I dare say there will be a couple of third party exclusives like Professor Layton but I will just watch the trailer on YouTube for those.
