Are there any Switch first party games that haven't sold over one million?

This ain't going to sell very well.

I will be renting a lot more games and buying second hand when possible especially for shorter games, if developers want to charge higher prices then that's fine but doesn't mean I have to give them that money to get the game.

@Solid_Python Didn't see the video but if so then thats good, might replay then both on Switch 2 if performance is good.

Also they should really port over Crisis Core Reunion first as it's a prequel to Remake with some important story beats.

I doubt it will be natively, get ready for the first batch of cloud only games.

Cloud games should run better on the Switch 2 though as it has better wifi tech, and judging by the new GTA trailer it is the only way that games coming to Switch 2 as well.

May give this another try, has cross play been confirmed?

When I played before I relied heavily on summoning other players to help me but I think cross play is essential otherwise there's going to be less potential people to help you.

I don't think this is coming to Switch 2, the Switch 2 is now fully revealed and has a solid release date and there's been games coming to the system much later been announced. So there's no reason for Microsoft not to announce a Switch 2 version if there was one.

If games are going to be more expensive then they best do more and be more polished than before. I don't mind spending more on games that are going to keep me entertained for a lot of hours like Zelda, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, Splatoon or long JRPG's. But if a game is buggy and has bad performance, or is only short (5-10 hours) then there's no way I'm paying £75, I will either rent them, buy used or wait for a sale.

No GTA 5 or MK8 in the charts is refreshing to see.

Well as hard I might try I doubt il get a booster box, these scalpers clearly don't have jobs and have the time to just sit there refreshing websites until they drop so they get first picks. Collecting Pokémon cards for actual collectors has become a huge hassle and it just isn't worth it anymore.

Wish they would also announce a Black and White Remake for the Switch/Switch 2, it's long overdue.

@Bobb You can get a physical Asian copy from PlayAsia, it has English support.

77 PC metacritic rating so it can't be that bad, not as bad as some like to make out anyway. This game will be a big test for what the Switch 2 can handle, and the sales will determine what ubisoft bring over next.

Really looking forward to this and it's couch co-op with the misses, pre ordered the deluxe edition on PS5 so we get it 3 days early.

Played it in on PS5 when it released and sold it a week later. Not worth the asking the price and doesn't hold a candle to monster hunter.

For those asking for cross play even if it was possible there's still no point, on steam there's 103 people playing right now, with an average of 44 players at a time over the last 30 days. The game is well and truly dead.

@Olliemar28 ignore the haters, GTA is without a doubt the biggest gaming franchise there is, and with the Switch 2 being more powerful of course there's going to be millions of Nintendo fans/gamers who have their eyes on this game and wether its coming to the Switch 2 or not. So you done right by reporting on this.

Honestly don't see this releasing on the Switch 2, at most a GTA V port might make it over.

I won't be boycotting them, unlike the codes in a box I can actually re sell these.

Hopefully Nintendo give the IP to someone else for a sequel.

@BenAV It was more so the exploration part I was struggling with, my characters were losing so much HP and it's random with what answers you give, and some bosses hit hard especially after I've used the last resort special on a few characters. But I suppose I rarely buffed and just went on the offensive every fight so far so with a bit more strategy id be fine.

Literally playing it now, on day 28 and the story is ramping up. Love the story so far and the characters, the game mechanics are also very good especially the exploration baord game. Only negative for me is the insane difficulty, put on safety mode quite a few times already 😅.

I've noticed the ones who put their new (0-6 months) games into a subscription service are the ones suffering the most. Ubisoft, Microsoft and now EA. Nintendo and Sony were smart not to follow.

Fire Emblem, Splatoon, Pikmin, Zelda, Xenoblade and Kid Icarus are my top wanted games. I'm also hoping they revisit some 3DS games with Remakes, such as Ever Oasis and Pilotwings.

Yeah il be going with the PS5 version for this, don't see why its not 4k on Switch 2.

Sun and Moon are probably my favourite Pokémon games (mainline) so I'm definitely going to be collecting these. Hopefully there's some nice art for the Tapu's and Ultra Beasts.

The old Nintendo would have included content like that for free in an update.

It's just lazy especially when some of those are small in file size such as Bravely Default and Suikoden. I'd get it if a game was over 50GB+ but most of these aren't. But, some of these games are on playstation with the data on the disk, so that makes me think Nintendo are charging a very high price for these cartridges, a price these developers are refusing to pay for.

Nintendo's exclusives alone is enough of a reason to get a Switch 2.

The Steam Deck barely runs the newest games, too fiddly with the amount of options to change just to get games running well, has a poor battery life and doesn't have system seller games like Nintendo does. So how someone can recommend a Deck over the Switch 2 is commcial.

Looks like I'm getting this on PS5 then, I have got the patience to wait for a "possible" Switch 2 version.

@beltmenot You will most likely still need a PS5 as most newer games won't run on the Switch 2, most of the ports announced so far have PS4 versions hence why it's easier to port them over. Games like Monster Hunter Wilds, Dragons Dogma 2, Indiana Jones, GTA 6 etc will most likely never make it over. But, I stand to proven wrong and hopefully I am, let's give the Switch 2 12-18 months to see what games make it over, that time frame will give you a good indicator to if you need a PS5 or not.

I'm in two minds what platform to get this game on if it is indeed announced for the Switch 2 tomorrow. If its a shadow drop tomorrow then I will have to get it on PS5 but if it has a release date thats a few months away and is launching on the Switch 2 then I will get that version so I can play handheld as well.

Already have my launch games planned (MKW, Rune Factory and Bravely Default HD) but I will be getting this game not long after, it's great what the Switch 2 can do considering it's all crammed into a small space.

Their prices digitally are the same as the competitors, it's only the physical version that costs more which actually makes business sense. The costs of physical have to include the cost of the cartridge, packaging, distribution and loss of revenue from second hand sales. They are putting the cost of physical up to recuperate those losses and push people towards digital which will then be a pure 100% profit for them and cuts out the middle man (retailer) and stops used copies.

The price of the console is perfectly fine for what it offers and I'm not too bothered about the price of the games or the Pro controller. I like to trade in my games as soon as I'm done with them and I know the re sell value is going to be pretty high and because of the high prices people are going to look at second hand copies more as well so I will be getting my money back easily or atleast 80% of it.

I would encourage people to get this if it makes it over, beautiful game and one of the best AC games I've played.

This is why I buy the fake amiibo cards, way too expensive to collect them all.

@Metazoxan The Xbox brand has gone off cliff, it started last gen and has continued to decline this gen even with buying Bethesda and Activision people continued to buy into other brands instead. So making an Xbox branded handheld will absolutely fail, added with the things you pointed out like having no exclusives as you can play their games on the more popular steam deck and the rumoured future playstation handheld, they are wasting money and sending this thing out to die before it's even unveiled.

@Justifier I don't doubt that there will be a lot of digital sales especially as there's a digital only PS5 as well. But it would never compare to the sales if it were to launch on the Switch/Switch 2, Japanese players would flock to that version.

@Justifier Well it's broken sales records, 10 million copies sold in one month so I'd assume Capcom are very happy with its sales.

Don't get the obsession with PS5 with these chart articles on here, over 7 million sales in one region is nothing to laugh at and with 2-3 years of life cycle left as well.

I fully expect the Switch sales to slow right down now with the Switch 2 right around the corner and no more big releases until then.

In terms of the software great to see Jamboree still going strong, best Mario party game so far for me and hopefully there's some substantial DLC in the works that add new boards, characters and mini games.

So is it confirmed all upgrade packs are going to cost £10 in the UK? That's not too bad tbh, but Rune Factory for the Switch 1 costs £44 physical and the Switch 2 version is £59 so it works out cheaper to buy the Switch physical version and get the upgrade pack separate.

This ain't the type of game I would associate with Nintendo players anyway plus the Switch 2 probably couldn't run it as well (if at all) as the other platforms so cross play wouldn't be good.

I'm not usually a Mario Kart fan as I get bored quickly but I'm quite looking forward to this one, being open world and hopefully having more stuff to do in the open world sounds great.

Well whilst true it makes the Switch 2 look more lucrative you have to remember the PS5 is still a lot more powerful and will still have third party games that won't make it to Switch 2 and games that have full features compared to the Switch 2 versions. So I don't see this price increase effecting much for the Switch 2.

Sad to not see Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma and Bravely Default Remaster up there as they are two of three launch games il be getting along with Mario Kart World.

I'm hoping there's more to open world than what we already know. Like is there collectibles, secrets, challenges, side quests etc

Why not mention it's a paid upgrade for the Switch 1 to Switch 2 version but it's a free upgrade from the PS4 to PS5 version? Makes absolutely no sense unless Nintendo are forcing developers to charge for upgrades as they know they will get a cut.

Does it really matter if it's not as powerful as a PS5 or Series S/X? The Switch 1 was also under powered compared to the competition and yet it sold incredible amounts. The Switch sold best because of its form factor and because it had (by far) the best software and exclusives at a steady rate that kept it relevant and kept people talking about it the whole generation, it's not like the Series consoles where no one was talking about it just after a year or two even though it offers the cheapest gateway into current gen gaming, why? Because there's no brand power and the exclusives ain't there anymore especially now that they are going full third party.

Nintendo won't allow that to happen to themselves, they have the brand power, the form factor and they will keep the Switch 2 relevant and wanted by releasing a consistent flow of exclusives, that's what makes the Switch 2 worth the price tag, the games.
