Played and completed it over the weekend, mainly because the misses kept bugging me to. Be warned though it's a super short game and the puzzles are very basic in my opinion. Completed it in 3 hours and that's with collecting everything (which isn't much).
@ShieldHero Very nice to see, I suppose the film is helping it shift some numbers as well. Now where is the Shield Hero Rpg it deserves, would rather that over the usual SAO ones we get.
People were saying the same about Zelda before Breath of the Wild came out and that ended up being one of the best games ever made. But, the trailer for this game hasn't done it any favours, such a poor trailer. Hopefully there's a dedicated direct towards release that shows more of the game.
PSP, PS Vita, PS3, Wii, WiiU and 3DS stores have all close down for purchases but you can still re download your bought games. So there's no need to overreact about GKC and game preservation. Also these platforms would give you plenty of notice if they were to close their servers down fully, giving you plenty of time to download all your games you want to play again onto your console.
I also have a feeling the Switch console naming and design will be continued every gen going forward, so Switch 3,4,5 etc. Meaning they will keep the Eshop going for these consoles so you can still play your Switch 1 games on your Switch 4 in 15 years time.
@Cathalm Well they are half and half in my opinion, atleast with GKC you can re sell them something you can't do with full digital games. For people who complete games once then sell them it's a vast improvement over the code in a box we got with some switch 1 games.
How about they scrap the key cards and then lose a lot of third party support in return or most third party games become full digital only, fans will be happy then surely....
@LazyDaisy There was 5 years between 2 and 3 so I wouldn't expect a new one yet not until late next year or even 2027. Only reason Splatoon 2 came out 2 years after the first game was because the WiiU failed, hence why Splatoon 2 had so much recycled content.
I don't mind Pokémon getting DLC already but the only two negatives from this direct were the Donkey Kong DLC and the price of the Galaxy ports. The Donkey Kong DLC looks great but the prove isn't for what it offers, £70 for the main game should mean for a £16 dlc you should be getting 3-4 new levels worth not just 1. Then there's the Galaxy ports which don't offer any new content or real worthy upgrades, so to charge £70 for games that are 15/18 years old is ridiculous.
9/10 fantastic direct, had so many games im looking forward to playing. Highlights for me were the new Fire Emblem, Fatal Frame Remake and Dragon Quest 7 Re imagined. Also nice to see Resident Evil 9, shows what the Switch 2 is capable of.
Also is it safe to assume the new Professor Layton isn't making its 2025 release, surely it would have been shown today if so.
Great news for those who just game on Nintendo platforms, Remake and ReBirth are excellent games but I am curious to see how ReBirth runs on the Switch 2 as it was all smooth sailing on the PS5. If it runs well I will double dip on the series and get the Switch 2 versions as a recap ready for when the final part comes out.
Pretty clear they are going after Azur Promila and the new creature collecting game from Mihoyo with this patent. Palworld was a slight threat but the game by the makers of Genshin Impact are a real threat and the game trailer already blows the latest pokemon game out of the water.
This is absolutely pathetic from Nintendo, do they not care that their players and even other developers will start to hate them and not put their games onto their systems. I've never known a company go out their way so much to suck the joy out of gaming for others.
Surely there's going to be a direct around the time of TGS, with Sega having 4 games to reveal as well and Level 5 bringing Professor Layton to the show now would be the prefect time for a direct.
Personal top 5 so far would be, 1. Donkey Kong Bananza 2. Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma 3. Star Wars Outlaws 4. Bravely Default HD 5. Mario Kart World
@Lizuka Thanks for feedback, I really enjoyed Rain Code so if it's as good as that then that's totally fine. Like you the art style is really selling it for me, looks really good from what I've seen. Will definitely be picking it up next week once I'm done with No Sleep for Kaname Date.
Roadmaps for live service games I don't mind but for single player stroy games it's just a turn off. Now I have to wait until December to get the full package, oh well saves me some money to spend on the many other releases coming this month instead.
How long is the demo? I have the game pre ordered already but I'm dying to start now but if the demo is only a couple of hours long then I won't bother as it's still two weeks away.
Shame there's no difficulty options and the game is made to be souls-like in terms of difficulty. When will devs learn more people will buy their games if they just add difficulty options.
For exclusives so far id say average and that's only because Donkey Kong is a real gem, otherwise I'd say poor. If you add in the third party releases than I'd say it's been good.
The good:
Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma
Mario Kart World
Donkey Kong Bananza
Bravely Default HD
Cyberpunk 2077
Star Wars Outlaws
But, Drag X Drive for me is the worst Nintendo made game ever.
I might actually pick this up Friday, it will be my first third party multiplatform game I pick up on a Nintendo console (PS5 is my primary). Mainly so I can see what the Switch 2 can handle going forward, if il impressed then I can definitely see my self getting more multiplatform games on the Switch 2 as I quite playing in handheld.
Those Xbox Snake Eater sales are abysmal, and I don't want to hear it's because Xbox is more digital focused when over 90% of PS5 game sales are digital. To me that just shows the majority of Xbox owners are purely there for gamepass games.

I usually go to Noisy Pixel for Japanese game reviews and they gave this a 10/10 so I'm definitely still picking this up day one, just a shame there's no physical.
The majority of PC handhelds can be docked, so Playstation doing the same is no slight towards Nintnedo, it's just industry standard these days for any type of major handheld gaming device.

Wait until the big hitters start releasing those figures will sky rocket.
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush (Switch 2) - DLC That's Ripe With Fun, But Could've Been More
Let's face it the old Nintendo would have added this in a free update.

Re: Nintendo Showcases Every Switch And Switch 2 Direct Game In New Infographic
13 games from that list I will be getting day one, also how come the Galaxy pack isn't getting a Switch 2 version.
Re: Borderlands 4 Goes Down Well With Critics As Gearbox Acknowledges FOV Issue
Been playing it on PS5 and it's a great game, beautiful open world and the combat is as great as ever.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 For Switch?
Not paying £60 for these 18 year old games, I will either wait for a sale or rent them.

Re: Monster Hunter Stories 3 Will Roar Onto Switch 2 In March 2026
This looks fantastic, so glad Capcom are sticking with these spin offs, if anything I kinda enjoy these more than the main Monster Hunter games.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
So it being open World and her having a bike all of sudden makes this game bad? 😂.
Looks great to me and can't wait to explore and just take my time and enjoy myself with the game.
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time
Doesn't matter how good they are the fact is they are 15/18 year old games with no new content.
Will wait for a sale or rent the games.
Re: Dragon Quest VII Gets Reimagined For Switch And Switch 2 In Early 2026
Can't say no to more Dragon Quest games, I don't know what it is about this series but every game is just a joy to play.
Re: Pokémon Pokopia Looks Like An Adorable Mix Of Minecraft And Animal Crossing
Looks great and may feed that Animal Crossing itch whilst we wait for the new one.

Re: Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Charges Onto Switch 2 In 2026
This game was just the cherry on top for that direct, my most anticipated game for next year.
Re: Mario Movie Domain Names Surface Online Ahead Of Mario's 40th Anniversary
@Member_the_game Maybe we will get both, Galaxy 2 HD shadow dropped today and a teaser trailer for Galaxy 3 to release next year.
Re: Mario Movie Domain Names Surface Online Ahead Of Mario's 40th Anniversary
Hopefully Galaxy 3 gets announced today and not just a Galaxy 2 port.
Re: Nintendo's Patent On 'Sub Characters' Could Have Some Dire Ramifications
@Willo567 Because their latest games are creature collecting games similar to Pokémon. Nintendo seem hellbent on protecting that IP at all costs.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
The obvious ones will be Metroid Prime 4, Splatoon Raiders, Hyrule Warriors, Professor Layton and Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
I also predict a new Fire Emblem, Something Mario related and Metaphor Re Fantazio.
Re: Nintendo's Patent On 'Sub Characters' Could Have Some Dire Ramifications

Re: Nintendo's Pikmin Invade London This Month For A Special Trafalgar Square Mission
Wish they did the Matsuri in Birmingham, gladly exchange it for the German Market.
Re: Nintendo's Pikmin Invade London This Month For A Special Trafalgar Square Mission
This just makes me want Pikmin 5 even more.
Re: Review: Cronos: The New Dawn (Switch 2) - Strong Story Elevates Otherwise Safe Survival Horror
Lack of difficulty options has put me off getting this, hopefully they get patched in like with the Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Re: The Best Nintendo Switch 2 Games
@Denoloco Fully agree, for me personally BoTW and Xenoblade have set the bar high for open world jrpgs and adventure games.
Re: The Best Nintendo Switch 2 Games
Silksong number 1? 😂😂
Personal top 5 so far would be,
1. Donkey Kong Bananza
2. Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma
3. Star Wars Outlaws
4. Bravely Default HD
5. Mario Kart World
Re: More Switch Games Have Received Switch 2 Compatibility Fixes
Tokyo Xanadu is meant to be incompatible yet I've played it from start to finish on the Switch 2 and had no problems what so ever.

Has anyone played Shuten Order yet? If so any good?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th September)
On PS5 i will be playing Varlet, Noctuary and Praey for the God's
On Switch 2 it's Star Wars Outlaws, Tokyo Xanadu ex+ and Bravely Default HD

Re: "I Can't Afford To Give It Away For Free" - Silksong's Low Price Is Causing Devs To Re-Evaluate Their Own Games
Yes but team cherry knew they would have a guaranteed 10+ million sales so of course they can afford to have a lower price.
Re: Video: We've Played Star Wars Outlaws On Switch 2 - Here's 16 Minutes Of Gameplay
