When I'm spending hundreds on a device with a screen the first thing I do when unboxing is attach a glass screen protector. Also raises the resell value when you want to sell it as it will have a pristine screen.
Guardians of Azuma is by far the best one I've played so far, it just feels more "big budget" compared to the rest. It has the best fighting, best social mechanics, best visuals, great town management, makes farming not a chore anymore and has the most voice acting than any other Rune Factory.
In second I would put Tides of Destiny, that was my first ever Rune Factory game and it's what got me into the series.
On PS5 i will be continuing with Shin Megami Tensei Vengeance, it's took me this long to finally get into the game (including the original) but it's finally clicked for me and now I'm having a blast.
On the Switch 2 it's more Mario Kart World, Bravely Default HD and Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma.
Tbf if anyone watched the recent gaming shows then you can clearly see the need for a PS5/Series/PC for most games. Across all three main shows 95% of the games shown weren't announced for the Switch 2. So yeah the PS5 will continue to sell well (apart from Japan).
I'm quite enjoying the game especially the Knockout Tours, but yeah the open world rewards are very underwhelming, I honestly don't feel compelled to explore it or even bother with it at all as the rewards just aren't worth the time and effort.
It was always going to happen eventually, Nintendo are moving to a digital future which has just taken longer than it has with Sony/Microsoft. Over 90% of games sales on PS5/Xbox Series are digital, people will just have to accept it and move on. This game key card business and Nintendo charging more for a physical version of MK World than the digital version is the beginning of them trying to push people into going digital.
@Arawn93 It's strange because he has such a bias towards Sony yet has 17,000 comments on NintendoLife but only 1000 comments on Pushsquare, so either he's here just to troll or he likes Nintendo more than he's letting on.
@Yoshi3 I'm with you on this one, I've put about 10 hours into Mario Kart World and it's fantastic, for me it's the best Mario Kart so far. But, that's not reason enough for me ay it's worth that price, ive played indies that cost a third of the price and they have been fantastic too and gave me equal amounts of enjoyment as Mario Kart World. Just because it has open world exploration or more characters (which most are just the same characters but different outfit) doesn't mean they can charge more, especially when the main thing about Mario Kart is the tracks, in which case MK8 Deluxe plus the booster pass has three times as many for the same price. Plus we can guarantee Nintendo will bring out paid DLC for this game which will then take total cost past the £100 mark.
I just think these price increases are down to greed, Nintendo know Mario Kart is their biggest seller and is guaranteed to sell 20 million copies, at £50 that's a billion revenue which is probably 10x their development cost. There's absolutely no justification in charging £75 for this and same goes for most other companies charging this new price like with Borderlands 4, Outer Worlds 2 and Ghost of Yotei, these games sell enough copies to easily recoup their development costs and then some. It's just going to force more people into buying second hand.
Only issue I've had with battery is that sometimes when playing handheld the joy con's battery will say half full even though it's been in the dock for days.
This has been on my radar for a while now, but a few reviews and comments I've read say there's some big difficulty spikes with bosses (especially some centipede boss). So that's kinda put me off getting it, atleast at full price anyway.
The short battery life was to expected though right? Its the trade off for having more power, just look at the other handhelds like steam deck and rog ally where the battery lasts less than two hours, sometimes only an hour on more power intensive games. You want more power and bigger screen then you just have to suck it up and get on with it.
Got me one in the end and I don't regret it, feels great and super light. The headphone port is also a huge game changer as now I can play in bed at night on the TV with sound I can actually hear properly lol.
@Kwyjibo_Kitsune in terms of not having enough hdmi ports for both, i highly reccomend an hdmi adapter, I use one and it basically turns one hdmi port into two with a button you press on the adapter to switch between which console is shown on the TV.
So far I'm loving it, I love the new design and how it feels in handheld play. I had Mario Kart, Rune Factory and Bravely Default for my launch games and everything runs very smooth and looks great. My only complaint is the lack of innovation in the UI.

I've put about 3 hours into today across all modes and I'm really enjoying it so far, especially Knock Out Tours. My only complaints are the lack of a proper map in free roam, having no check list or map markers makes it a pain to explore. Secondly the online rank system is the same as MK8, earning points means nothing to me I would be more persuaded to play online if there was some kind of reward system or free battle pass like with splatoon 3. Still with those aside I'd rate it 8.5/10 and the most enjoyable Mario Kart I've played yet.
@Slideaway1983 Just recieved an email from Argos saying it will be delivered by DPD by Wednesday 11th June, did you get this as well, followed by another from DPD saying they are expecting my Argos parcel. Man hope I ain't got to wait until next Wednesday for it lol.
@RupeeClock OMG I just checked and my Argos account has my current email but my old phone number 😅. So I could have had the message but I won't know, hopefully DPD send me an email instead later on or the Argos order page gets updated otherwise I won't know when it's coming tomorrow (or if it is).
I have the day booked off work, just hope Argos deliver it early. My launch games are going to be MK World, Rune Factory and Bravely Default. I've cancelled my order for the new Pro Controller though as I don't see any urgency in getting one yet especially as it's not necessary due to the old pro controllers being compatible.
@molkom The PS5 will have a lot more digital sales (which aren't counted here) due to the 3 day early access for digital pre orders, plus Fantasy Life was a Nintendo exclusive year's ago so already has a large following with Nintendo fans who have been waiting years for this game. Also I wouldn't be surprised if there's more PC players than there is PS5 players as well, the game is doing very well on Steam.
I like the simplicity of the Switch UI but I thought they would have atleast been a bit innovative with the Switch 2 UI. It's pretty much the exact same, has less of that new console feel/experience.
It's definitely in my top three this year so far along with Fantasy Life and Atelier Yumia. It's also now my favourite Too Kyo game, hopefully this game has done well enough to keep the company out the red.
I've had the PS5 version since the 18th and I've put around 25 hours into so far and absolutely loving it. There's a lot of content to keep you busy and a lot to explore, the game is also forgiving with its loot so there's no real need to do any of the crafting lifes if you don't want to. I'm focusing more on exploring and the fighting lifes and I've not encountered any issues, in fact I'm a level 25 magician clearing shrines with level 45 enemies with ease and that's without crafting my own gear so I'd also says it's quite an easy laid back game.
Mario Kart World is a huge test for these new prices, if World is charting in the top 10 weekly then it's clear the majority don't mind paying more, then that will be the signal for all top publishers and devs to increase their prices as well.
The Switch 1 refresh included OLED and a bigger screen, I can't see the Switch 2 screen getting any bigger than it is now without it feeling impractical. So if it's just a refresh with an OLED screen then I won't mind skipping it.
I would expect a brand new console yet to release to play games better than a console that released 12 years ago and has had a successor for over 4 years. Please don't continue this trend of comparing Switch 2 games to the PS4 versions, atleast compare newer games to how they run on the competitions latest hardware (if possible).
@Olliemar28 Hopefully you're right as it would be sad to them close down. A bit concerning that they have recently announced the end of their mobile game as well (Tribe Nine) which only came out three months ago.
Most High profile publishers want to to make the biggest and best looking games possible so they will want to go where the high end specs are which is PC and Playstation/Xbox for now. The biggest third party games around will probably not even make it to the Switch, but Nintendo do need to do more in terms of engaging and working with third party publishers, no one understands the hardware as good as Nintendo do so with their help you will see a lot more third party games make it to the Switch 2.
Nope, I'm playing it the same as usual if not more. Mainly because of the Hundred Line Last Defence Academy and I've recently started Dragon Quest 11s.
Really looking forward to the 18th as I've got the 3 days early access for pre ordering. Hopefully they also give it the Snackworld treatment and keep the content coming after launch.

Re: Talking Point: How Are You Finding Mario Kart's Open World?
It's great to explore and look at but the lack of a map and markers is off putting. Also the rewards for the p-switches are very lacklustre.
Re: UK Charts: Yes, Two Mario Kart Games Are In The Top Ten
I fell for those that bought Mindseye, that game will plummet down the charts next week.

Why would they do the drift? It means you have to give them even more money to replace them.
