Re: Does Astro Bot's Super Mario 'Inspiration' Cross A Line? Fans Seem Divided

Toshiro_Baloney

I’m a Nintendo die-hard. Been here since the NES. I’ll throw down (not really) with some Sony Ponies any time…

…But not about Astro Bot. Astro Bot absolutely rules.

And while everyone is focused on the Nintendo influences - I think the biggest influence I see is Rayman Origins. But that game is neutral in console wars, so it doesn’t get brought up.

Me mad at whatever makes you happy, I guess. But in my opinion, Astro Bot is a thing of beauty - influences and all.

@Steel76 I kinda feel the same way, but to be fair, I haven't seen enough of it in action to get a real sense of how disappointing this aspect actually is. The first one looked so unique with its incredibly dense pixels and bright contrasts. It pops like crazy on the OLED. This one looks like it may just be a PS1 style 3D. Not bad. Still dig it. But visuals don't appear to be quite the selling point this time around. At least on first impression.

Re: Talking Point: Would $499 Be Too Much For 'Switch 2'?

Toshiro_Baloney

I'll probably get one whatever the price, but that's because I'm a shill for Nintendo and have followed them for the last three decades despite the missteps. Realistically though, if it's going to be priced like a PS5, it had better be something special. No moderate upgrade on the current iteration gets you to that price point.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase?

Toshiro_Baloney

Much better than I was expecting. Seems lately that these Directs are nothing but farm simulators and other such stuff I personally find a little boring. But I wasnt expecting Rare games. Wasn't expecting the Battlefront stuff. Pocket Card Jockey is fun. Contra demo and release date, Penny's Breakaway too? Lots in here that I actually appreciated. Not bad.

Re: Review: Nobody Saves The World - A Thrilling Action-RPG For Fans Of Old-School Zelda

This game rules. I usually don’t have the patience for long gaming sessions and after I picked this up this morning, I couldn’t stop playing. Drinkbox seems to get right what so many other developers get wrong. The abilities gained throughout Guacamelee made progression more fun and more challenging, rather than simply making you overpowered. Here, it’s a consistent level of satisfying reward that encourages experimentation and helps keep everything interesting as it pulls you along. I love it.

Re: Gotham Knights Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch

Don't waste your money! I had low expectations for this game, but bought it on sale for my PS5, as I'm a big Batman/DC guy. It still disappointed me. A lot. And bored me. Looked fine graphically, but that's about all I can say that's positive about it. And it won't even look good on Switch.
