Re: Hori Reveals The Split Pad Fit For Nintendo Switch

I play a lot of hand held on my OLED and these look fantastic. Would definitely pay more if they included some kind of rumble, but I hope they come over to NA anyway. Love that there was some effort put into making them look nice and not so big and clunky like the precious effort. Will keep an eye them.

Re: Memory Pak: Making New Memories With Earthbound In 2022

I remember when this game came out (I guess I’m aging myself here) and was panned by critics. Had that terrible ad in Nintendo Power. I was sure it sucked, but I was curious too. I was never an RPG guy either, so it was a big step out of my own gaming comfort zone.

The sense of humour it sported allowed me to fight through the needless design frustrations… and when the game turned totally insane toward its conclusion, I felt as though I had stumbled on to something secret. That those who were too unforgiving of the more tedious aspects of Earthbound never had a chance to witness. The emotional rollercoaster of sadness, nightmare and abstract ideas that I had not only never experienced before, but that I’ve unsuccessfully searched for in other games ever since.

I read about this game in magazines and I always wanted to try it. I had a little notebook as a kid where I put it on my list of games I had to find and play. It was the only title on the list that I never ever found. Not to rent. Not to buy. Nowhere. I’m sure it doesn’t exactly hold up after all these years, but I can’t believe I’m finally getting the opportunity to cross it off my list. Surreal!

Re: Nintendo Wants To Know What Switch "Groups" You've Created Since The Latest Firmware Update

Beat em Ups
Retro Games
Games I play with my son
Game Collections
FPS
Point n Click
Fighting Games
New Retro (for modern games with retro inspirations)
Backlog

That’s it so far. It’s actually been fun just to go through my collection seeing how many titles fit into each category. And then picking the three titles I want to represent each group visually on the folders screen. I’ll end up sinking a lot of time into sorting games kinda like when I went through my trading card collections as a kid.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The February 2022 Nintendo Direct - Every Game Reveal And Trailer

Fantastic Direct. They have their "Smash reveal" again with the Mario Kart DLC, which also adds value to the higher tier online service. The updates on Splatoon, Kirby and Advance Wars all add hype. RPG fans got two big interesting titles. A cool looking shadow drop. Mario Strikers may not be for everyone, but it is for me. And new Wii Sports is going to be absolutely massive. Not only fun, should end up on several bestseller lists by the end of year. Did I want to hear more about Batman? Sure! But I got surprises, updates, additions to my wish list and a new game for the library. I loved it.
