@Ghost_of_Hasashi I sent in for Shaolin vs Wutang. But I’m looking at the rest of your list and I haven’t played any of those. Hanwell especially (isn’t it often dirt cheap on sale?) has caught my eye numerous times, but I assumed it was more of the same shovel-crap that had already managed to fool me twice (shame on me). Thanks for taking the time for these recos. I will be checking them out.

@joey302 Matt McMuscles confirmed that a physical release of The Takeover is on its way and that he was doing the artwork for the instruction manual! I don’t know if he mentioned who was in charge of the release, but I’m happy to know it’s coming. Not many games I would double-dip on, but The Takeover is one I wouldn’t hesitate to. It gets overshadowed by Streets of Rage 4, but there’s something about the art style and the plucky indieness of this game that makes me feel more fond of it than Rage.

I admit I don’t have a dog in this fight (never played a Pokémon game outside of Go), but it sure looks like an improvement to me.

This list ends up being pretty good. Still have to vehemently disagree that the OG isn’t as good as something like Twilight Princess or Link’s Awakening remake, but this top ten does actually hit all the best games in the series.

@hashkey I understand I’m in the minority here, but I hate that game and am happy to see it not on this list. I liked the Yoshi games released after that one though. Super Mario World had the best sound design in any game before or since.

My initial thought to this article title was “wow, they’re being uncharacteristically harsh”. Then I watched the video and... it looks like a generously positive headline. What a disappointment.

I love that this site digs Thief Simulator. I bought it for like two bucks on a sale one day and while it gets crapped on in most places, I had a lot of fun with it.

Just watched the video and you’re right. Looks like you’re running on ice. Could be nothing and play great though... I’ll check out the demo and go from there. Always in the mood for good 3D platforming.

Easy pick for North America on this one

There are a TON of great Kirby games. Charming and fun. I’m gonna do a little shoutout to Canvas Curse which doesn’t seem like it’s getting the love it deserves. Was a really early DS game and played flawlessly, challengingly and was amazing fun. Showed what that little handheld could do.

I don’t there’s anything that could convince me NOT to buy this game. Not pricing. Not download size. No amount of bad reviews. I am in.
