@Laxeybobby SwitchStars rules! Happy to see the callout here! Not only are his videos on trash funny, but Luke has managed to sell me on some real hidden gems that I would have otherwise never taken notice of.
@mariomaster96 This one is egregious. Not simply for the broken launch, but for the bevy of gameplay elements and world-building elements that they omitted from the release. It's a shame, because the game that's there I actually like a lot. But it's nowhere near what they said it would be.
Unpopular for no reason statement: Inspector Gadget sucks. Has always sucked. And this game looks like it really sucks.
Only thing it ever had going for it was that opening theme which, had the show even remotely resembled, would have been pretty cool. Oh and Don Adams' voice work.
No Genesis games equals no purchase from this guy. And I would have been there day one. That last one they made for Sega had some mind-blowing graphics that wow me to this day.
My opinion is that this will be the first of three similar videos, with each one adding elements and story reveals. It’s a surface scratch of what this sequel will offer, not the hook or even primary difference between Tears and its predecessor.
And even saying that, the amount of creativity afforded in simply these elements is enough to incentivize hours of gameplay.
I've had this game for a while now and I adore it. I didn't even know about the Stranger content at all! Oh well... Sounds like it's about time for another playthrough. Infernax rules!!
Japan's cover looks like a faulty bootleg that got jammed in the printer. Like the EU and North American covers, but my heart is with my home team and this is one of my favourite games. Killer 7 for Switch!!
Even though there’s no license, I’m still far more impressed with Super Mega Baseball. Endlessly customizable and snappy fun gameplay. One of my favourite and most played Switch games.
Noooooo!! Was really hoping this held up. I would have been forgiving of some clunky gameplay just to experience the aesthetic. Sucks that the aesthetic is so compromised. Devastating.
Played this a lot as a kid in the 90s, but I didn’t get an N64 until long after it had expired. As such, I’ve never had a chance to play the single player. I had to use the controller remapping tricks but once I did, I played through the first few missions and I love it. Looking forward to playing through the campaign for the first time.
20/24 Didn’t think this was unfair at all. Couple that I got wrong: Overwatch like many, FTL and Genshin Impact I just had no idea what the hell they were, and I tripped up on the Monkey Island.
These online trials are an absolute joke and this is the worst one of them all. If this is the output, just don’t bother. I’m happy enough with the Mario Kart tracks and the retro console stuff (and honestly, the snail’s pace of the retro releases isn’t great either). Stop listing exclusive game trials as a “feature” of the service when AAA Clock is the kind of garbage you’re going to shart out.
New Nintendo should be a pure hone console with power in the current gen class. The hook should be a “seamless” connectivity with the Switch, so you can play these AAA games on the portable system many people have already invested in. I have no idea the technological hurdles inherent, but such an infrastructure could keep both sets of hardware relevant.
Got Green Hill Zone for Christmas. Haven’t built it yet but I’m looking forward to it. First Lego I’ve built that was MINE since I was a kid. I wonder if these sets will be more like a traditional Lego or if they’ll stick with the fancy line?
I got really excited there for a second when I thought there was a WipEout game for Switch. Bah.
This game looks cool but I think I'll wait until I hear that it runs a little better. I'm not an FPS snob, but on something like an F-Zero kind of game, poor framerate can really kill the experience.
The BinBok (or Nyxi) joycons are fantastic. Like the Hori split pad, but with rumble and Bluetooth wireless. I decided to go this route when I got my OLED instead of buying another Satisfye grip. Both options are excellent.
@BlueCoolYoshi Yup! This is precisely what I would love to see. I absolutely love this game and don’t think it could have controlled any better on the 3DS… but the form factor of the system made it uncomfortable to play. A Switch port with these controls as an option would be amazing.
Oh hell yeah! I’m not huge on turn-based combat, but this has just the right theme and style for me to buy in. I love some of the gameplay choices the developers have made too. Great article! Thank you for highlighting. I am in.
@WhiteTrashGuy Level design seems oddly ignored in the review. It’s one of the best things about Prodeus! Still labrynthian, but intuitive enough that you always feel like you’re advancing forward and not backtracking through emptied out rooms over and over.
This is easily one of my favourite games of the year.
Happy to see the Mario 64 responses. Video games just were never on that scale before. Everything was just so massive that when it moved unexpectedly, it made a profound impact.
Easy for me. The song naturally comes to my head whenever I’m about to go into any situation that is competitive in nature. It’s the Punch Out theme for NES. Number one for me all time.
Looks like an Illumination interpretation of Mario. I don’t love it, but I recognize that it could have been far worse. I really want to not hate this movie.
I'm a huge Castlevania fan... And I've still never played this. I can get it for Playstation, but there's something about experiencing these on the Switch that just strikes me as being so much more appealing. Crazy to me that it isn't available
My favourite game of all time is a forgotten Treasure title called Bangai-O Spirits for the NDS. A puzzle game wrapped in the guise of an action shooter. 100 levels played in whatever order you want. And a level create system that you could share by playing a sound out of the speakers into a friend's DS microphone. It's genius and insane.
Favourite retro title that is universally disliked is an old NES game called Dr. Chaos. That is one difficult to describe game with a lot of elements that don't really fit together... But legitimately figuring things out (there was no guide at the time) it's layered deep in weird and was a joy to discover when I was 10.
