Re: Random: Turns Out You Can Play LEGO Mario Without Buying The LEGO

TimboSlice

I’d like to see a commercial with a middle aged man playing with this (not buying them based on nostalgia, building it, and displaying it - as most adults do with Lego but is generally not the purpose/function of this set due to its coverage area).
I’d then like his wife/significant other to look at him in disgust as the commercial fades to black.

Re: Carrion's Controversial Nintendo Switch Menu Icon Has Been Changed

TimboSlice

I just hate game icons where the name of the game isn’t front and centre.
If only because almost all other games have decided to do that.
It just doesn’t match.
Like when some stupid game decides that the spine of their game case will have spacing issues or not follow the format of how it should be labeled and looks off from every other game!!!! (I think Bomberman does that, damn you!)

Re: Universal Orlando's Super Nintendo World Delayed Indefinitely

Theme parks are gonna be long gone before this will even be considered again.
Too bad too. Looked amazing.
Just happy I was able to visit California’s Universal last year before this all went down. I can’t even imagine how you’d ever run a theme park considering all the preventative measures you’d be expected to do... and the liability insurance you’d need... the bogus suits alone would financially drain you.

Re: Community: What Do You Think Of Lego Super Mario, Then?

TimboSlice

Ugly as hell, but hope they sell out fast so I can sell my preorder for a decent profit.
I have no interest in supporting this line.
I’ll pay good money for decent sets (the friends TV set and Christmas gingerbread home, and iron man hulk buster most recently), but this one is just YUCK.

Re: New Screenshots Of Pokémon Unite Surface Online

Looks great and super excited for this one!
Art style is very nice and a good MOBA should be relatively easy to pull off.
Pretty much a guaranteed hit, if you ask me.
All the whiners about Tencent can bugger off and it’ll still be a hit nonetheless. Not enough people care enough to turn away a likely decent quality game, which is free.
And don’t get me started on pay to win garbage... just be better at the game and take advantage of free stuff (as per Warface, Ninjala, etc).

Re: Soapbox: It's Time For WWE No Mercy To Make A Comeback On Nintendo Switch

TimboSlice

I liked WCW vs nWo better based on the characters.
WCW always had a more vibrant cast of characters.
Just wanted to note that here, for those that remember it was the game that No Mercy really was based off of.

But yes, a wrestling game like this would be amazing. Be sure to include the tag team moves.

And as other posters have said, a Wrestlefest game would be equally appreciated and well received.

These new wrestling games are so god awful. All of them. The new one coming may be the worst of all.

Re: Ninjala Reaches 3 Million Downloads, Another In-Game Gift Promised For All Players

@ACNHislit AMAZING. But be warned, super steep learning curve. At the beginning you feel like mashing buttons and won’t understand why you are losing. But be patient and watch videos! Or ask friends.

Here’s my tips:
1. Play team games first to get the hang of it and not get swarmed by 7 other players.
2. When you start look to break those drums and once you get the energy you can create your BIG weapon. That helps you win ties in the clashes with opponents who only have a small weapon!
3. If you win a clash, and it doesn’t kill them, use R as your next attack because most of the time they are gonna block, and this will gun bind them and/or break their weapon!
4. Pay attention to your missions. By focusing on doing those (and switch them up if you don’t like it, it’s CHEAP) will help you advance levels super fast.
5. If start with one of the yo yo weapons to keep you a bit at distance from others so you can “see” what’s going on and get the feel of the game.

Re: Random: The Pokémon Company Re-Uploads Its Pokémon Unite Videos, And Fans Aren't Happy

TimboSlice

@Barbara001 ohhhh! Thank you for that info!
Googling it I now see all of this... pretty crazy, but is it crazy to say that likely all these apps and smartphones are mining our data all the time?! Not sure how safe anything is really....

And in the end they are a giant company with, as I found out, significant investments in many things... one of which, as a Canadian and so it hits home, is TIM HORTONS! (Granted it’s the Chinese branch but still...)
So if you’re a Canadian and complaining about this company and not wanting to support them, you’d best start getting your caffeine fix elsewhere!

As it is, I’m still all in for this game. Looks awesome.

Re: Random: The Pokémon Company Re-Uploads Its Pokémon Unite Videos, And Fans Aren't Happy

I’m very excited for this game and happy to have a Pokémon game that’s trying something new.
MOBA’s work, and the familiar cast of characters will draw people in.
The art style looks great and as long as it plays well this is gonna do good numbers, mobile alone, let alone switch.

I also don’t get the issue with in-app purchases. Ninjala, Warface, Pokemon Cafe, etc all have this... but none require a single cent to be competitive or dominate games...IF you have skill. Purchases are normally cosmetic or just speed up level grinding.
And when the game is FREE, if you like it then $10-20 isn’t gonna kill you and is your way of saying to the developers you appreciate the work!

A lot of anger I feel is because it’s cool to complain.

I don’t see it with this move. I’m in. It’s free to try for goodness sake...
