DAMN! I thought there was actually a Culdcept game for Switch and I was gonna lose my mind!!! Then of course that has to be the ONE game for DS.... damnit.
@Bobobiwan thank you! And since you have it, can I ask: the DLC is not on the cartridge it’s a code? So does the DLC then work on my downloaded version of the game or will it only work when I have the cartridge?
XCOM is the genre defining game that you MUST play, so we have no choice. It’s a must buy and I’m glad I just upgraded my microSD. I like physical editions (for the case AND the option to sell and get some money back if I ever choose), so I’m fine with buying physical in this case, regardless of download size. At least this comes with an actual cartridge unlike stupid Tetris (I think) and Overwatch!
Amazing game and the free rewards come at such a pace that you never need to spend money if you don’t want to. Really the best thing to buy are the cosmetic skins! Which have no affect on gameplay.
@Kalmaro I respectfully disagree. Making a F2P game isn’t by nature a predatory practice. That’s ignorant. The F2P model is a different type of model, that’s it. The idea is that you get someone hooked into the game and make it something they love to play, and when faced with an option to purchase an item (cosmetic or game-influencing) the player makes that choice.
A prime example of this was many many years ago, the game Jetpack Joyride. It started on mobile as a paid purchase, but after a while they changed their model and reduced the price to FREE, and added micro transactions. In the first several months, based on small micro transactions, the game made twice as much money as it had in the year or so prior. (I may not be exactly correct but you get the jist of it) This proved that with a free game you can lure more people to try your game, and once they own it, those that enjoy it will have a high chance of paying a bit of money into it. Compared to releasing a cheaper priced game and hoping they buy it, this model seems to work.
@Kalmaro Asphalt and Warface are both F2P and neither require a penny to be competitive against other players. I haven’t found a need to pay any money in either and have great fun and never feel under powered or hindered by others’ (paid) equipment. I’ve paid money in both just to support the developer but frankly don’t even use what I paid for...
Hoping this is the same, and I’ll likely pay a bit to support if so.
ITS $50CAN on pre order!!!!!
Are you kidding?!?! Hahahahaha!
Anyone that buys this is crazy or rich. No way is this shovel ware worth $50!!!!!!
What a joke.
I thought for sure it would be $5 at most... MAYBE $10.
All these games look exactly the same to me. 0 interest. Many people on here criticizing the art style choice and I agree. At this point, regardless of your history, you end up looking like a clone of the 10000000000 other similar games. You need to stand out and not just bank on nostalgia. Why would someone not familiar with you pick this up?
This has to be paid advertising. Why would anyone cover this?!?! Damien’s parents must be wondering why their son is writing this instead of that movie script he told them he was working on and that’s why they should pay for his college....
Amazing game! Loved it on 360 and it plays beautifully here. As said already, not pay to win at all. If anything, I struggle to even find something to buy, as you really don’t need to (even though I’d love to support the developers!).
They blew it big time with the pricing. At $30-40 it would have sold very well, but just look at the comments here! People say they’ll wait till a 50% sale?! That’s never ever gonna happen.... Too bad, cause I was interested in it as well till I learned the cost. Too many other great games out there at much lower cost.
@personauser93 the money collected was essentially pre-sales. If you backed the campaign you get a copy of the game as well as various additional things depending on your level of “donation”. I backed on day1 for my physical copy. Might as well prepay now, get the special cover, and help ensure that they made their goal!
They say the average age of gamers is now in their 40s I believe, which is right where I am. It was my generation that grew up in the video game boom if the NES and SNES, and when hanging out at arcades and getting into fights if you threw someone in SFII was a thing. For people my age, the Switch is perfect. I don’t have a man cave and don’t have multiple TVs to dedicate to gaming, and I’ve got responsibilities and stuff to do! The switch allows me to play games on tv, undock it when the Mrs. wants to watch a show in TV, take it with me on business trips, etc! I feel it is more about evolving to meet the needs of this age’s gamers more than anything. I have more people my age buying a switch than I’d ever seen with any other system. I think that’s what has made it great.
@ryando not everyone working for the government works for the infectious disease or healthcare system. We all have our pets to play. The division responsible for something like this does this for a living, full time.
This is a good way to use Kickstarter! Now someone buy the rights to the SHADOWRUN fps that was on Xbox360 and port it to switch!!!!! Amazing game and I’d love to play that again. It had an extremely dedicated fanbase and I’m willing to bet you could get quite a lot of support for it now on Switch!
Any organization that arranges charities likely (and historically) takes a huge chunk off the top. If you really care about a charity bring supplies to them (like cat food to a cat shelter) so you know there is no skimming off the top. Better yet, donate your time! Go somewhere and actually help.
Like some here have said, add decent manuals and maybe some stickers or a map or something. Wargroove did it perfectly. I don’t mind paying a bit more for that. However, when some places charge you upwards of 4x the digital amount for simply the physical version and no bonuses?! Meh. That’s a hard sell. Or “no sell” really....
I feel bad for these goalies. Like meat sack punching bags! Why don’t they have freaking powers?! Everyone else can turn into a bear or truck and shoot rockets but the goalies can’t turn into stone or something and block it?! They gotta take a beating time after time?! No girls will date them!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!
There is no time for this! We have just received WARFACE and it runs beautifully on the Switch. I am so happy with it. Happy for a Direct, and looking forward to a full one soon... one that announces XCOM2 available immediately after the direct airs?!
So happy for this game! Loved it on xbox360 and happy to have a version in switch! Between this and Tetris and Asphalt9, switch online is AMAZING value!
I can’t purchase! It won’t log me in when I go to that freaking page... some sort of glitch. It won’t let me login, yet on any other page I’m fine... ugh.
All I want is XCOM2 (especially since there are no other games that even come close to it in its field! .... which is odd that by now we can’t have any contenders...) Must come to North America please!!!!!
Already backed it on Kickstarter. Looking forward to playing it and love supporting new IP’s! (I know this is a port but WiiU almost doesn’t count as a system in video game history sadly)
All 5 are gonna be horrible. Let’s not kid ourselves. If gods and monsters had any hope, we would have at least seen some gameplay footage by now. And all the others likely being sequels to their already played-out franchises (1 watch dog was enough) isn’t gonna be impressive...

Re: Hideki Kamiya Explains Why The Wonderful 101 Needed To Be Remastered
@AnnoyingFrenzy Your math is horrible. 33% better would be 134.3 (101 + 33.33).
To get to 303 you need to multiply by 300%.
