Re: Review: Spellbreak - A Neat Fortnite Rival Which Ironically Lacks That Magical Touch

TimboSlice

@BrintaPap that’s quite the combo to pull off! 😜 and the speed of the Boulder makes it possible to avoid, and the ground attack is useless if I’m in the air.
I feel they all have their positives though for sure, and your strategy is a good one! But nothing seems “unstoppable” or gravely unbalanced.

The one thing that annoys me is the “tracking” passive skill... it needs to last longer even at level1.

This game is GREAT FUN.
I do not enjoy fortnite due to the building component. This eliminates that and focuses on gameplay.
The comment about elements being too unbalanced is incorrect, they each have their benefits. To be specific, having wind as one of your two gauntlets is great for finishing off someone. I like to use frost to snipe people for massive damage then as they try to run away fire multiple wind blasts to hunt them down.

If you are even remotely interested in trying this out, I highly recommend it.

8.5/10 for me.

Hoping for more cosmetic options to keep the game looking unique with different character models, and the battlefield looking diverse.

Re: Ninjala's Sonic Collab Is A Limited-Time Event, And It All Kicks Off Later This Month

TimboSlice

@Grandiajet the game is good! It’s got a steep learning curve but once you understand the mechanics and how to play it’s quite fun!
Only problem for me was not enough outfits to change into, which made many players look the same.. but that’s a small issue.
The second season’s rewards are also a bit weak compared to the first so I didn’t buy in. But after paying $2 for the special which got me coins to play the first season, I have more than enough to play another season, so the value is good!
Try it out for sure

Re: This Animal Crossing Nook's Cranny Set Is Being Officially Reviewed By LEGO

TimboSlice

@Menchi all I want (and would pay for) is the cartridge, to be honest. $20? And that’s pushing it - considering how few bricks it is...
If MAYBE pay for the NES system, but I’m in no way buying that stupid TV, which accounts for half the pieces in the set and thus DOUBLED the cost of the set.
It’s a shame.

If LEGO had sold the set alone and then sold cartridges separately, I’d have given them a few pay checks....

Re: New Nintendo Patent Suggests A Standalone Switch Joy-Con Could Be On The Way

TimboSlice

@LEGEND_MARIOID they already butchered the whole “switch” name with the Lite, which doesn’t Switch into anything (except maybe a doorstop). It also doesn’t make the patented “click” sound when you attach joycons, which is what EVERY VIDEO STARTS WITH... which absolutely baffles me.
They are starting to make some real bad choices which I’m not happy about...
The whole Mario 35 direct was horrible, as so much of it is for 2021... way too far out IMHO.

Re: More Than 20 Million Courses Have Now Been Uploaded In Super Mario Maker 2

TimboSlice

For people that complain, I feel they really didn’t try that long. You get a few VS courses that suck, or are ridiculously tough, but 90% are pretty darn good with 10% just being amazing!
I still come back to this game every few months to see what’s going on and love it.
I would highly suggest any switch owner to pick this up as long as you have NSO.

And I don’t build at all. I made one course and that was it.

Re: Bored Of Ring Fit Adventure? FiNC HOME FiT Could Be Your Next Fitness Challenge

TimboSlice

Odd that the article doesn’t speak to Fitness Boxing, as this appears to be a successor to that game far more than RingFit.

I had both and sold RingFit as it wasn’t as much of a workout as FB, and the two player simultaneous options in FB were appealing as well.

I love FB and just wish they had an online competitive mode or something like that. The local vs. mode is great fun!

I’ll for sure pick this up if a western release happens.

And anyone who hasn’t tried FB, I would highly recommend if you are looking for a good workout. It’s also pretty technically correct in terms of the boxing moves and techniques it teaches (coming from someone with over 10 years of martial arts experience).

Re: It's Official, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Has Been Delayed Until Spring 2021

TimboSlice

Guess this goes from a Christmas present to myself to a birthday present to myself.
Sad, but I am very excited for this. Looks great, and the voices are pretty spot on. I like the VA as all the other LEGO Star Wars went without, so this just adds another layer of “newness” to it.

Only thing I’m praying for is REBELS DLC... or at least character packs of Jaris, Ezra, Chopper... the whole gang!!! And they’ve been a lego product in the past so they have the designs done!!!!! Pleeeeeeaaassssseeee?!?!?!?!

Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Announced For Tuesday 18th August

TimboSlice

@Teksetter
Yes- no offline mode, although there is a pretty good single player campaign and story with plenty of side missions that help explain the characters.
It’s not long (I’ve gone through it all) but there are plenty of goals to hit with leveling up each Volta (6 currently available).
Due to the limited player base, I don’t know I can recommend it for $20, but at $10 I’d say it’s a must! I really like the game and sooooooo surprises at the lack of interest.
I fully blame the developers as there is ZERO advertising.
Their Instagram page has literally 2 posts about the game..... so sad.

Re: Volta-X

Amazing game!!!!
Wish this had more publicity behind it because it’s a real gem!
Great style, gameplay, and sound design.
And for $20?!
You can’t go wrong.
